How much longer until YOU get your PSP?

I have 1 hour 45 minutes left- thats when my mom gets off work. I'm counting the minutes, and its bugging the hell out of me...

got mine this morning, worth every penny =) people at work are amazed. People are canceling thier ipod orders here and getting the PSP instead.

Not spending or trading in $250 bucks worth of stuff to get something that is portable. I never will give up more than a hundred and fifty bucks for anything console wise unless it is a NEO GEO CD or AES.

I might get one for my birthday in 2007 when Final Fantasy VII-5 comes out.

Other wise to me its a total waste of money. specialy with all the issues its has. Basic rule of thumb, Never buy 1st or 2nd rev of Sony products.

Dont forget this is rev2 for the PSP as Japan version is rev1.

I might pick mine up later today. But the longer the days progresses the more the hype train dies down.

what's the difference other than the firmware?

About 6-8 months at least. There's just nothing out for the system right now that makes me think "I must to have one!" Maybe once Devil May Cry, Coded Arms, and Ys show up I'll have to pick one up.

Whenever I cave in. I had planned to wait a while but nearly bought one today. I walked into Target today to get some other stuff and saw a heap of like 50 PSPs behind the glass. I was...very tempted. I had all but lost any resistance to buy as the sales lady approached. But instead of asking me if she could help, she hovered around like I was going to rob the place so I decided not to buy the thing.
Technically we're still on the first version.

The disk pop issue was found to be a random occurance in some units brough on buy the type of force you wouldnt exert on a system in real life conditions, hardly something as bad as the DRE issue. and the Square button issue was a matter of extra plastic on the button durring manufactoring so there's no real differeance in the units.

But bare in mind that we havent heard anything new come out of japan so there likely wont be any serious issues with the american PSP either.

The only likely change for it in the comeing year would be a better battery and even that's turning out to be less of an issue than many people claimed it'd be.
when you refer to rev1 and rev2 and snake is referring to versions...is that the same as say ipod's generations?

if so, what is the difference in the american and japan verison other than the updated firmware? i mean they didn't alter design or reengineer and bring it to the production line. so what did they do between "rev1 and reve2"?
never, since sony sucks.

When it drops to under $100...

...I'm going to be waiting a long time!
I was with BigNick, but then realized that Rig was a bit more realistic. I will probably end up with one when it is sub-$100 and actually works properly. Unless, of course, I am wealthy by year's end. Then I'll buy one, just because I can (which is what I'm shooting for)...

EDIT: Well said, DR.

I'm hoping tomarrow will bring an email from overstock saying my $225 PSP is on the way, I'm in no immediate rush but I'll be glad to have one but I'll be glad to add it to my collection of handheld systems.

I'm very weak at this point, but all of the negative talk today has me weary. I'll probably go to Best Buy today and see if they have it in stock and see how weak I am then...

I'll probably end up waiting about 6 to 12 months though to see what titles may interest me later on.

When it drops to $150 and doesn't come packaged with shitty accessories. Either way, I'd most likely have to spend extra on a 512 MB Duo stick and on a hard case. The only game I want now is Lumines anyway, and a puzzle game isn't worth a $300+ investment.

when the "media" for it isn't 15 bucks.. (if the movies hit around 5-10 i'd think about it) well that and when there is at least a used market and at least some greatest hit games so i don't have to spend 40-50 for a game

At least one price drop. $250 for a handheld is too much and I want to see how the market reacts to it. If it takes off I'll get on board eventually but I don't want to end up with a nice shiny Pocket Color or something down the line.
When it's not a shoddy piece of garbage.

If I wanted a fancy handheld I'd pick up a DS.
Funny, mine works fine.
