Ok, I'm thinking about eventually picking up a Wii with my credit from GameRush. HOWEVER, since my 360 is on my main TV, the Wii would go in another room....

How much space do you really need to play the Wii? My PC/Office is not the largest, but should be ok I think for the Wii....just curious.

It all depends on how many people will be playing the Wii and what games you are playing. The sensor bar works best at a range of 3-8 feet as stated above, however, different games/amount of players will yield different radii needed. You could need from a six foot radius for 1 player games to a large room for 4 player games that involve movement, (i.e. Wii Sports - Tennis).

My livingroom is crowded with 2 couches perpendicular to the entertainment center. This makes 2 player games impossible as there's only 5 feet wide space in front of the TV. However, we can sit on the couches and make small hand movements to play the games with no problems, but it's not as fun. You don't have to make gigantic hand gestures like most people are doing. A simple flick of the wrist is usually all that is necessary to swing a racket, bat, or golf club.

When we really want to get into the realistic movements, playing beyond the couches at about 10 feet from the sensor bar creates no problems at all with mote reception.

I would give a MINIMUM 3 foot radius (6' diameter) per person when playing multiplayer games.

You could hook it up to the same TV as the 360, unless you anticipate someone wanting to use one while someone else uses the other (and even in those instances, you could just move one of the systems to the other TV).

It depends if you're the kind of person that tends to really get into it and do all the unnecessary movements in games like Wii Sports. In all seriousness you can sit down on a couch and play the Wii, but where's the fun in that? Whenever my friends and I get together to have a Wii session, we make sure to move EVERYTHING out of the way and that there are no possible fire hazards within our vicinity. It may seem ridiculous to do, but things do get pretty intense.

I wish I had a few more feet in my living room to play the Wii. As it stands now the room is only 7'-10" wide. The entertainment center beneath the TV is 22" wide and my couch is 30" thick. I can put my feet up on the entertainment center when I'm sitting down. It's really crowded. There's plenty of room to play Zelda but for Wii Sports I really wish I had more room.

Yup, it really depends on the person playing. I play pretty much in one spot, but my girlfriend plays Wii tennis like she's on a real court. She's already managed to wack me in the face while I was sitting on the couch.

Yeah, it's really going to depend on the person. I take up about as much room as I occupy standing up to play WiiSports, but friends and family take up a lot more room. Almost every game I've picked up beyond WiiSports can be played sitting down, so I wouldn't worry too much. The whole concept of standing while playing is GREATLY exaggerated. It's a good idea, but hardly practical or expected.

If you have a butt and a chair, you've got enough room to play most anything.

I can tell you that my Wii is currently in my dorm room, which is incredibly small. My roomate and I are able to play baseball quite well but once the 4 player tennis comes out it way too crowded. It can work but it isn't always the most comfortable situation.
