I do Have a bunch of other games and systems but Thats what I may be selling right now. Also I have to list all other games, as that is not 100% complete. So how should i sell these.
Glyde, ecrater or CAG marketplace. Destructoid recently partnered up with Glyde and they're having a contest.Buy and sell anything through them for a chance to win a 3DS. http://destructoid.com/elephant/buy_games-index.phtml
Is Glyde good? What about lots on ebay, I am a worried about shipping all those games. I just don't play most of them any more and just want to clean house, Also want money for other things. I really don't wanna sell them to game stop. what about the marketplace or e crater? thanks all!
I've been reading a lot in some of the sections on the forums that ebay is attracting a lot of scum buyers. If you do decide to sell on ebay be careful.
Glyde is great if you don't want to bother with the post office. They send you a bubble mailer with paid postage when your game sells. They take 10% plus the cost of the mailer. It does take awhile because of it.Ecrater is a free market place like ebay but free.No fees.Things tend to take longer to sell because it isn't a very well know site.I don't have much experience with the CAG marketplace but it's free.
The CAG trading forums are always a great place too. I tend to sell my stuff exclusively on there, as a matter of fact.
id second this. with the forums and the marketplace you can set your own prices. the only advice id give is realize that amazon pretty much skewers everyone's value on games and has driven them into the ground. seems like most of your games are older ones (in video games 4 months is old anymore) so you will probably have to bundle some just to make it worth shipping. your best chance might actually be a lowball auction in the forums.
Definitely the trading forums. Selling a bunch of my old games on there now (cheap plug) but I've had great success selling on there. Made a ton of money the last time I did a lowball last summer.
This is just a general guideline and doesn't necessarily apply to your specific games.
If you have 2D shooters, fighters, and niche games from companies like Atlus, NIS, etc., ebay them individually.
First off, spend your time doing research on what your stuff is worth (game appraisal). Search completed listings on ebay (you have to have an account on there), or videogamepricecharts.com is a good aggregate site. Another research site is
Digital Press' Blue Book (collector's guide) and their website
.
Craigslist - Good way to get rid of stuff, but if you live in the country, your customer base is limited and you'd have to meet them in the city. Hard to sell niche games and easier to sell mainstream games here.
Goodwill - If you have junk that's only worth $.50, just donate it and don't worry about it.
Ebay - How comfortable are you with risk? If you just want to sell it, list it at .99 with no reserve. You'll be almost guaranteed to get bidders. If you want to get a certain amount for it, start it just below what you want. Be aware, though, you'll get hit with fees if you do this. If you're not comfortable with risk and want to get a certain price for it, start it just below what you want. Be aware though - you'll get what you set the price at, or slightly above that.
Figuring out shipping has taken me about 12 years to get it right, but here's the secret: If it's a game you'll think you'll get a lot for, offer free shipping. If you think you'll break even or less on the game, charge $3-4 for shipping. If you decide to ship international, don't even mess around with the USPS. Ship UPS or FedEX ONLY! This is if you plan on selling on ebay. Keep all your boxes and padded envelopes you get when you order games online and be green and reuse them when you sell stuff.
I would suggest trying craigslist first. Its free and you get all of the $$$
Any services you use after that (ebay, glyde, amazon) will take some of your money. You have to figure out how much they will take and choose the best one.
After that you could try other options like trading here on CAG, Gamestop, Goodwill.
But use Gamestop as a last resort as you wont get half of what you could on craigslist or ebay.
Use goodwill if you want to dump the game and don't care about money.
Recently I've sold 95% of my games to Amazon and best buy. Best buy you can do it in store, and get 30% more if you trade 2 or more games until I think 7/2? They both pay for shipping and you don't have to worry about putting it up on ebay waiting to sell it and paying fees.
