How to get an edge card?

why don't you want to subscribe for an edge card if you need one so badly, isn't it only like $5 without the magazine? i'm pretty sure the only way to get an edge card is from subscribing for it.
 
Not to take over this thread but is there anyway of getting the card without having to go in a B&M store? The nearest one is too far away in my case. :\
 
if my memory serves me right you can call the 800 customer service number or subscription number and call and ask for one. They should be between 3 to 5 dollars. The last time i re-upped my sub over the phone they asked me if i wanted to add the card for a small fee.

The card is free when you buy Game Informer. Nobody should have charged you any additional fee.

Actually if you look at one of the subscription cards for Game Informer magazine in one of the issues there's a spot where you can check off to add an EDGE card for $10. It used to be $5 or so and there was a big thread about getting an EDGE card for $5 for the longest time using one of those old sub cards or a pdf of one of them.

It was $2. I remember sending them a check for $2 and they cashed it.
