My KOTOR has a small crack on the inside of the disc (where the hole is you can stick a finger in). The game boots up, but i can't progress pass the initial menu. i've tried a hundred times but no dice. My only conclusion is it is because of this crack.

It has had it for a while, but it was smaller and the game would play fine. I guess the crack has grown and killed the game.

Any suggestions other than use it as a coaster/frisbee/? You think tape would work, and will EB take back a game in this condition on trade in credit basis...the crack isn't visible from the graphics side.

Somebody move this if it would more appropriate elsewhere.

I would think they'd take a glance at the underside, and if it looked real bad, they'd probably test it. I would think putting anything on the disc could hurt your system, because it would give the disc an improper weight ratio. At least, it was found in the old model PS2's that if you placed a sticker on the disc, it could spin awkwardly and damage systems. I'm assuming this is still the case with all CD based systems, but I might be wrong. At least the game is cheap now and easy to find.

Throw it away and buy a new one, you can't repair a crack and you wouldn't want it to break into pieces while its in the system.
