Well I let a friend borrow Assassin's Creed 1 for the Xbox, and I gave it to him mint, and he returned it with smudges and scratches. No significant scratches, one or two, but the way I see it a game's either mint or not.

Anyways I decided I want to trade it in somewhere because

A.) I like all my games mint
and B.)
It's boring.

I noticed Gamestop's TIV is $3, even with a 30% bonus they're doing right now; there's no way I'm going to do that.

So I'm looking for alternatives. Now some of you are thinking "You know nowhere else is going to give you a significantly better amount right?" Maybe so. But it's not just for AC; it's for the future.

I'm not asking for a list or anything just wondering how the TIV's are (I tried calling but the bastards never EVER pick up, so I thought I'd ask CAG's who have gone to the store before.

Also do they discount their games at a good price?

And how are their used game sales as opposed to Gamestop's??

Any promo's?? Thanks.

The value is pretty low for Assassin's Creed 1. I was able to get it for $7.99 new. My advice is to go into to the store and find out the TIV. I won't be surprise if it's extremely low TIV. You can also find out if they have any good TIV promotions going on. Also, i hope this entire situation taught you a valuable lesson. Never let anyone borrow your games. lol

Since most PnTs are franchises, they are free to set their own TiVs. In the system, there is a set TiV but its up to the owner if they wanna change or leave it. For example, Chrono Trigger. It sells for $49.99. The system says the tiv is $15, but the one i go to raised it to $20 because they know it will sell. They do match GS's if theirs is lower, & mine even gives u the 10% on top of that. They also PM sale prices as well, if the person running the store OKs it.

Actually according to the guy I talked to on the phone with (first time they've ever picked up) they'll give me $7!

I should have asked how much they'd give me for ODST.

I also found out that they take off 10% off any used game for every A you have on any form of report card or whatever for students.

Sounds great!

They may not be TOO great however, I asked how much they sold Super Street Fighter 4 for and apparently they sell it for $49.99 :p

They should be able to PM Gamestop's online price. The PnT stores near me are happy to PM to GS.

i'd get 60% off... stuipid 89 -.- to bad there are no play n trades in my area.

I remember a couple of months ago, Gamestop was running one of those "$20 TIV for any game on this list" promo and Assassin's Creed was on it. I remember being absolutely dumbfounded because I couldn't imagine getting more than $5 for it at the time. Anyway, between that, Star Ocean 4, and Armored Core 4, I was about to get Bayonetta! :D

....wait, does this not help at all?
