I guess you're just getting annoyed that people only seem to care/post about about what affects them personally. But is this really any different than a conservative's views that are constantly reiterated inhere? The same self-interested mantra of "if it doesn't help me, it."

I've been reading Papillon on tape so haven't been gettin as much NPR as I usually do on my commute, but even a somewhat informed worldy American can have a hard time gettin at this CHina info.

I know the disaster was an earthquake, and the epicenter was somewhere in Sichuan (Wherever the that is), but as far as the death toll, I couldnt tell you. 50,000 is my guess.

I did listen to an interesting story on my way home yesterday about upset parents bitching that their children's school collapsed (and killed them) whereas all the other surrounding government buildings stood erect (be mature). They skimped on the construction of the schools.

I'd remember more but I was really baked at the moment.

What would you like us to do? Band together, make a time machine, and save them all? I know plenty about the earthquake, the 20,000 dead, and 80,000 still missing if my memory serves me correct. But its a natural disaster, nothing can be done about it now, so I don't feel the need to discuss it. However this discussion does potentially affect my future.
