http://www.portablegamestore.com

It can't be legit as some of those games seem too well priced. However, it could be. In all honesty I'm stumped.

Anyone else?

The GBA games are most likely bootlegs. They show that they have an english verion of Dragon Ball Advance, which isnt even released in the US. They also have many many import games at less that $20, which definately makes me think they are boots.

HAS to be a bootleg. I would never buy a GBA game online unless it's from a trusted online retailer (Amazon, EB, Gamestop, etc.) or an Ebay seller with a very good picture of the product and good reputation.

Hmm you got me too. Seems their consoles are legit, but their GBA game prices are too low. But their DS games are so expensive. My best guess is that they have HK suppliers for bootleg GBA games, but sell legit DS games (maybe the bootleggers aren't on top of those yet?)

They are based in Japan if it matters to anyone.

Also has anyone heard of the company they say there are part of:

"We TS Games International Limited are established since 1999 in store providing our customers the latest and cheapest video games and related products. We are in full connection with the local Japanese distributors in order to get you the most up-to-date import games and related products at competitive prices."

Site screams bootlegs to me. I did some googling and found very few references to them.

Use a CC with good customer service for chargebacks if you order. Not worth the potential PITA to me.

I figured it was bogus. But it threw me how most of the stuff on the site is overpriced. i guess if anyone gets brave let us know the outcome, heh.

I ordered 2 aria of sorrow. I emailed them to ask about the possiabiltiy of bootlegs.. got a reply in under a hour.
Dear customer:

Thank you for contacting us. Your order is being processed and as soon as it is filled our staff will get it shipped. All games are new and factory sealed.

Regards,
Sarah
I hope for the best.. I will let you guys know.

I ordered a copy of Harmony of Dissonance from the site, thinking that resellerratings was a positive indicator. *SIGH*. It's bizarre how someone could respond to an email I sent at 3-4 AM within 30 minutes. Of course, the fact that the company is based in Hong Kong probably explains that. Anyway, the game was bootleg, the manual and box have blurry pictures on them, and the manual is basically six measly pages of copied crud. The weird thing is that the game still worked fine and saved properly.

The thing that should tip most people off is the box art. I saw the Megaman Zero 2 picture, and guess what? No Capcom logo, and the background was completely wrong.

Oh, and "Playstaion" Portable on the main page. wth

Really, I'm surprised that no one on this board has even bothered pulling this store's whois info.

The site was registered through a proxy domain, which is proof enough that this store is dealing in some shady business.

I bought Aria of Sorrow from them. Definite bootleg. Opened the cart and - tada! - there's a battery inside. Bastards.

Are you going to email them and tell them what happend?

Sigh, I ordered Aria of Sorrow from them also before I read this post. It is indeed VERY bootleg. I emailed them and I'm waiting for a response. I also plan to contact PayPal and try to get them in as much shit as possible. One question though for the people who bought AoS, did yours ever work? Mine just stays at the Game Boy screen and nothing happens.

I ordered a couple of GBA games and they are both bootlegs - no doubt about it.

One game has a message that says the save data is corrupt. Furthermore, the box of one of the games doesn't even look like the picture on the site in the item description. I find this to be misleading. It makes it look like the English games they are selling are North American versions, when that is not true.

I have asked for a refund. The store has been nice about my request, but will only give a refund after I mail it all back to China (their site says they are in Japan). I don't trust them, so I won't retun items until I have a refund.

Currently I'm disputing it with PayPal.

Ugh, they had a good rating on www.resellerratings.com.

Resellerratings.com failed me!!!

Everyone registers their domain through proxy now. Hell, even this website's domain is proxied.

Er, looks like this is an old thread. Good thing, I probably would of fell for it.
