HUGE mistake on Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life, UPC scans as Wave Race:BS

Turns out that the UPC printed on the back of the box is for Wave Race: Blue Storm. If you can find the game at any retailer you will be paying for Wave Race, not Harvest Moon. Besides TRU, it doesn't seem like it's been spotted at any major retailers (BB, CC, Kmart).


OP:
Here's the deal, the new Harvest Moon was at my TRU today and the skn was keyed incorrectly in the system. When the game is scanned it shows up as Wave Race and the price is a penny. Stickers with the correct skn number were placed over all the copies at my store. However, the only way your local store will know about this is if a manager or world leader had recently checked the E-mails which explained the glitch and how to fix it. So, if you're lucky, check your TRU out and ask for a price check (or to buy) on Harvest Moon...It might be worth the effort.

I found it at TRU for a penny yesterday, but of course I didn't get as lucky as some and the supervisor call denied me. I didn't mind though, that TRU has been kind with the penny guides in the past for me.

Someone has been spoiled by the CC $5 sales. I personally think that $10 is a great deal. I'll admit I havent played the previous HM games, but I would have picked it up for $10 had I found it.
 
Just picked it up at Best Buy here in NYC. I went to Toys R Us first, but there was a $29.99 sticker over the bar code. So I went to Best Buy next door and got it for $9.99, no problems at all. It did ring up Wave Race: Blue Storm. They had about 10 of them left.

Pick them all up and help out some CAG'ers... I'd easily give you $15 (that includes shipping) for a copy and have the MO / Paypal sent out tommorrow.

It's cool, if they are still there after this weekend, no problem... you will be my girlfriend's hero for getting her a copy, she seriously checked about 12 different stores lol.

I need the two I have for myself (one for my fiancee, one for trade), but if I have a chance to get over to BB this weekend, I will certainly see about picking up a couple. I just don't want to do too many at once (or all by itself) to make it as inconspicuous as possible. One of these days you'd think a cashier would be like "Wave Race? This doesn't say Wave Race anywhere on it..." but then again, maybe not.

And if nothing gets corrected after I discuss it with an associate, I don't think it ever will.
 
Dropped by my BB and at 1st couldn't find the cube version, but after looking around I found they had moved it to the bargain shelf. What a bunch of clueless moron's.

But get this... The GBA version rings up as CGB-Tetris DX for a price of 28.99 when the add says 24.99.

Talk about fucking up.
 
I saw it at Fry's without any sticker over the UPC but I didn't feel like trying to buy it and then having to return it if I didn't want it, especially if the the receipt states Wave Race Blue Storm.

On a side note, I did find a used copy of Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life at a blockbuster marked for only $4.99. I took it up to the register and they told me it was a mistake, was supposed to be $16.99 but they sold it to me anyways. Cashier couldn't do math and subtracted $13.00 from the total so I ended paying only $4.32 with tax.

My Best Buy finally covered up the UPC with the infamous yellow sticker, after what looks like half of their original floor inventory was sold. Accounting probably wondered what the hell was going on.

After striking out at various stores (i.e. stickered SKU), I finally got a non-stickered copy of Harvest Moon at BB... rung up as $9.99, no problems. Even picked up a couple Battlefield 2 demos for PS2/XB.

Well worth the price.

I didn't bother putting it on my RZ card though - did anyone else buy it with their BB RZ card?

Is there any point in buying this game if you already have the first Wonderful Life game? Based on the reviews its pretty much the same game but you're a girl now.
 
For the CAGs in NYC, I found a couple at the Best Buy in Chelsea without the sticker. If I find some time today, I might swing by to see if I can't grab some for those looking for a copy at $15. If it pans out, I'll post in this thread.

Hey, guys.

My TRU was just alerted to the situation the day before I got there; if I had gone a few days earlier when I was in the area I would've had one for what, a penny?

I'll be heading out to Best Buy today to see if they've got it. Anyone interested in paying or trading for one if I can get more? Hell, I'll just pick them all up.
 
YOu would think it'd be easiest to get a K-Mart because they suck at updating their games, but then again, it's probably be $20 anyway.
 
The Toys R Uses (Is that the right plural?) in Charlotte NC are all aware. My friend picked it up at Carolina Place but they wouldn't sell 2 (one for me). I booked it down to Independance Blvd. and they wouldn't do it because they got a call from Carolina Place.

I thought I got a deal buying it used last week for $14, now I feel like a chump.

I just didn't feel comfortable having BB being able to track the fact that I took advantage of the price error... considering that BB doesn't even carry Wave Race anymore.

I'm assuming you don't care one way or another, which is probably the position I should take too.

My EB didnt put the labels on yet, but I wouldent pay $15 for this game.

Gotcha. Yeah, I just didn't care....it's their problem, not mine.
 
One of my Best Buy stores still had not "fixed" their copies - got one for 9.99 minus the $5 reward zone GC I had....4.99 + tax - not too bad.
