Humble Bundle Thread

One reason I thought the whole idea of a Humble store sale was farcical is because almost everything on the store (commercial releases in some cases excepted) is guaranteed to either a) have been in a Humble or b) appear in a future Humble. So you're just kicking yourself in the 'nads buying something from Humble at any sale price and thinking you're getting a good deal.
I used to think that but honestly, I no longer believe that everything there is going to be bundled in any reasonable timeframe.

And combine that with the fact that the average price/game in Humble Bundles is rising due to their special tiers, the removal of bonuses from first-week buyers, and the fact that the $6 weekly tier is usually marginal value at best (and sometimes costs more then a-la-carte).

I buy what I want when it gets cheap unless it smells like bundle material (acclaimed indie games that have been around for a bit).

Eh, still seems like a pretty high risk:reward ratio, especially for someone with a mega-backlog.

If I've played it and enjoyed it, I don't care if it later gets bundled.
I don't think I've ever been disappointed with a game that I've played and enjoyed that was later bundled. Of course I try to only buy games that I'll play immediately and think I'll enjoy outside of bundles. It's worked out well so far.

Ooooooo...

Scourge: Outbreak is $2.50 again? That's supposed to be surprisingly good, and the devs look to be very active on the Steam forums.

Anyone here play it?

Yes. It sucks. Avoid. It's a bullet spunge game that takes forever to kill enemies. The special abilities you get suck, the guns suck, grenades suck, story sucks (and none of it makes ANY sense until the end), and online co-op has connection issues unless you use LAN/VPN (for me at least). The only thing somewhat decent is the AI, they do a pretty good job of reviving you when you're down.

I usually like co-op games, but Scourge: Outbreak is terrible.

All the youtube reviews rip it apart too. I think I need to take Steam reviews less seriously. The first page of them are very positive.

Echoing what's already been said since it's been discussed to death in these threads before. In addition, it was somewhat recently in an Indie Gala Monday (which had a <$2 buy-in price to start with), so chances are you can pick it up on the cheap from someone around here. However, that version is missing the 2 DLCs included with the version Humble is selling. OTOH, there's only 2 DLCs for the game total and one of them is just an art book/soundtrack, so you probably aren't missing much by getting just the base game.

lol.

if i can get in the bta under four bucks i'll get it for dead island and sr3 dlc, though. doubt it'll hit that with the inflation due to the stupid 9 dollar tier.

oh to be a pc virgin...

The last two years we've seen a main Humble Bundle starting right at the end of May. If they hold to that pattern, I think we can expect one after whatever runs this week. No idea on what they'll run this week. Historically, spring has been pretty barren for Humble.

(And of course the new bundle starts while I'm writing that. Seems pretty par for the course, really.)

Ugh.. Humble has hit a new low.

Also, the original version of this bundle was a better deal. I remember paying a dollar and getting all future added bonuses. You can't do that with this bundle.

Holy shit. It's 2 weeks of daily repeat bundles?

I can't help but feel like this is all my fault...

My problem with Humble isn't necessarily the selection overall (yeah, I'm gonna bitch if there's a shitty weekly, but I'm not going to call Humble the worst bundle site ever or anything), but the increasingly greedy things that they do to fill their pockets while deflecting those accusations with "It's for charity!". They do these things because Humble, imo, has gotten too big for its britches and know they can get away with it. As pointed out, the Weeklies used to be consistently good for a while, and the argument "well, they're gonna run out of games to bundle" was made. Who says they can't do a repeat? They've repeated certain games. They've even repeated Double Fine before, are they some sort of exception? I'd rather a good repeat Weekly than the garbage we got this week. I mean, the majority of the games in the Speedrunners Weekly and the Co-Op Weekly were repeats, but most of us were pretty happy with the selection, right? Have one week every month be "In Case You Missed Out" Week. Now you can focus on making more good Weeklies for the other 3 weeks of the month. Problem solved.

As for the biweekly stuff, I'd say other bundle sites have the crappier Humble bundles beat, to be honest. Yeah, it's better than nothing, but I'd rather have something like Gala's Tiny Mix as opposed to another eBook bundle (but lucky for us, those are going away.)

Crap... I saw Saints Row 2 and 3 in the first tier, so I assumed the other SR was SR4, then i saw it wasn't, Now I'm not sure if I want the bundle lol.

Cripes, I actually wanted a Deep Silver bundle on the off chance that it would have SRIV in the BTA tier.

Hopes destroyed. Thanks, Humble. Thanks a lot.

Can't really recall off the top of my head if there was a bundle I regretted missing... don't think so.
It's the Humble Music Bundle for me. I doubt we'll see it during these two weeks, but I'd love it if we did.

This bundle is worst than comic bundle it no. 1 worst bundle. Oh the good times when 1 dollar before the evil ea took over u can have all bonus buying at one buck RIP Humble Crook Bundle

Approve of this. Bobbytastic is going to have a field day and possibly regret many purchases.
Good call. But I already have the Deep Silver bundle from last time (my first Humble Bundle, I think). I BTA on it back then too, but I wouldn't mind going in for $1 here for some doubles to give to family/friends.

Also, the average is dropping like a rock, I love it.

Was hoping SRIV or Metro: LL would be included though, Riptide Complete for $9 is bs.

And where the fuck is Sacred 1 Gold? :wall:
