Humble Bundle Thread

This!

The Outer Space bundle feels more like "Here's a sale on Kinetic Void, and we'll give you these games with it" rather than a traditional bundle. I wouldn't be surprised if they do something similar with Banner Saga, but we'll see.
Ya I'd be ok with paying a bit more if I need a couple more of the games. Hopefully it falls under 10, but I guess we will see.

I agree.

Yesterday made it seem like well... HB might do a "greatest hit" bundle-rerun. (Which makes a lot of sense to me.)

Today, it's the well... it's not really a Daily Bundle, it's a Daily Sale with a hint of bundle.

I'd also like to use today's bundle to point out that HB bundle/tiers are not always cheaper than a-la-carte.

Also sheepies use the default split... and Humble/Sequoia Capital takes a fat 15% cut from sheepies. Go ahead and zero their slider and give the full amount to the devs & charities you like.

Agreed. At least with the bundles, you can make sure more than 10% goes to charity. I don't think I've ever given Humble a tip because of that auto-15%.

Me too. Since Kerbal hasn't ever been extremely cheap, I probably would have paid $15 for all 4.
I'm wondering if it hasn't been in a bundle yet because it has the devs, publishers, or whoever controls who can digitally sell the game won't allow it. I don't even think it's gone under 15$ on any retailer, even Steam sales, and it's at least two years old now.

It's in early access. Most devs won't bundle something in early access. Some will though.

Another possibility is that they don't want to go below the academic discount, at least while the game is still in development.

Going back to what we were talking about yesterday, this "bundle" is the kind of crap that is insulting to the customer's intelligence. Gee...a 3 tier bundle...with 1 game in each tier. These might as well be set prices and thrown in the store. Once that average settles (and it seems like it already has), that's all it is. X3 is $1. Universe Sandbox is $2.82. And Kinetic Void is $6.20. The shitty catch is the last two prices are dependent on buying the game before it. Dumb.

Just a heads-up. The Doctor Who Android game is only a key for Google Play and does not include the binary for it.
Incorrect, on the bundle page after you click Android as the platform, it gives you the option to get a code sent to your cell phone or google play email. But you can also click Show Binaries and it reveals a link to download the apk.

Really? I looked for the link... lemme check again.

Edit: Found it. I hadn't clicked "Android" on the page. Derp, guess I'm a bit scatterbrained from the group buy. :wall:

It worked out well for me because X3 is all I want at these prices. If they put X3 in the store for a buck I'd probably buy it... so bundle or not I'm okay.

I just hope the next 12 days aren't like this one.

I'd like to thank Humble for reminding me that I still have an unredeemed X bundle sitting around somewhere. That's the best thing they've done for me in quite a while.

I know there are multiple X3 games. How does this version compare to the others? Is this more complete?
X3: Terran Conflict is a direct sort-of sequel to X3: Reunion; X3: Albion Prelude is, I think, an expansion to Terran Conflict. It might be standalone? I've only played Terran Conflict so far.

Anyway, Albion Prelude is supposed to be, in terms of gameplay, the most comprehensive, though Terran Conflict is a very good entry point. The plot (for any of the X games) isn't supposed to be anything special--I wouldn't really know, since I haven't really done anything related to it yet.

Seriously, I could live with X: Rebirth not being included, but I have none of the X games. Would have been a good bundle for me.

Average is climbing back up, I've still got my page with $3.01 open at least. Anyone know the historical low for Universe Sandbox off-hand?
Sunasun DVG Enterprises had it for 50 cents but their terms of service are pretty harsh
[customspoiler="Sunasun DVG Enterprises Terms of Service Agreement"]The buyer, heretofore referred to as the hoarder, gives his/her explicit permission, for Sunasun aka Count Burgula, to visit his/her place of residence at the time or whim of Sunasun's choosing, and punch the hoarder, heretofore referred to as the punching bag, directly in the face. The punching bag will release Sunasun DVG or its employees or subsidiaries from any liability to said punching bag's face. By Clicking the Terms of Service Agreement button, you have agreed to a legally binding contractual agreement with Sunasun DVG that you agree with the TOS agreement and any changes to the TOS agreement that the crazy mofo Sunasun comes up with. 10% of all proceeds now go to your choice of the Sunasun Little Ugly Trolls foundation or Sunasun's Home for Inebriated Tramps. Please specify upon payment which charity you would like to donate to.

I don't know why, but I wanna see the BTA on the Dr Who comic bundle rise over $15. I want to see the second tier eclipse the third tier.

I grabbed the X series weekly. X3: Terran Conflict was in the $6 tier for that one. (And it was one of the first to have the $6 tier, which sucked because it was leaked before that change and I was hoping for $3.50 or so.)
Same, skipped the $6 tier on that one so this, to me, is a good deal.

Any FakeCags that didn't get the $1 tier on the last X bundle ... that's what you get for skipping bundles =P

WTF?

How the hell do you have a Terms of Services w/out any mention of burgers?

ACTION REQUIRED: Doctor Who comics materialize on Humble Bundle
I wonder if the action they were thinking of was unsubscribing from all communications. If so, I agree wholeheartedly.

Seriously, someone needs to get promoted to Amazon for that.

This latest bundle made me dive head long into a bottle of Maker's Mark

sauced planet lucks

I'm going to read some of the early issues before going higher tier.
For my $, you can't beat this one if you're a Whovian. The Android game thing is probably worthless, but $15 for 5-6 graphic novels, each of which has a $10-15 MSRP alone? No brainer.

It's Dr. Who. Dr. Who nerds waste money like their lives depend on it.
I'm afraid we differ on the term "waste," sir.

Was thinking of going all in to get the novels at the top anyway. Definitely looks like they saved the best for the upper end.

Doctor Who is easily the best sci-fi show currently running on television. The fact that it has virtually no competition is probably why it is so popular. When I was growing up we had lots of good options, multiple Star Trek shows, Quantum Leap, Sliders, and a slew of other quality sci fi to choose from. Television today seems like an udder wasteland unfortunately. I'm really surprised that there haven't really been any solid attempts to make good science fiction in the last few years. I suppose the reality TV boom hasn't dwindled enough yet.

Ah man, I came back from a wild adventure with the Doctor.

What's his name?

Who.

the Doctor

That's right

What's right?

The Doctor

Who?

Yes

What?

No, Who.

I'm asking YOU who the Doctor's name is.

I got to season 2 on the show until that horrible episode about the girl that drew things that came to life. I'm afraid to go back. It's GOT to get better than, right? My favorite was "Father's Day", but it seemed like that quality of episode was kinda rare :(

Not sure I want to get the rest of the books if I never watch the show again :(
