Humble Bundle Thread

The main issue with Gamepass is there is so many games that it is hard to choose what to play. You get a great assortment of old and new (especially new) games. It's great, but also you never own any of them. Humble I feel should be $10 across the board for these so $1=1 game. You either like it or not and that's it. Humble in general has seen the quality of their bundles go down, and I'm not just talking AAA titles. If they didn't have their own Humble produced games in them sometimes, they would be so much weaker for the choice. Some like the Sonic bundle with all the newer games are cheap and great even if you have a few of them. Most of the other bundles have been a game + lots of DLC usually Paradox bundles. These are OK, but I don't get much into those anymore. Otherwise it's kind of junky bundles of games that have been bundled and the few good games are in the top tier.

Fanatical I would likely put as good when you miss games bundled elsewhere. Their stuff especially for build a bundles and some bundles can be very cheap. Most of their bundles are $4.99 or less and give a good amount of games bad and good. This is moobs usual way of picking up things once they're bundled by Fanatical.

I think the major thing is there is so much bundling nowadays that scraps are given to the others sometimes. Things get rebundled a lot so if you don't like the price like in a $14 tier on Humble, it will likely be in a Fanatical bundle later. Gamepass lets you play the latest and greatest and is cool, but you never own jack and other than Microsoft games, the other games go away like Movies/Series on Netflix. Overall we have it pretty good and we get more games bundled, but more AAA games and better indie games rarely go the bundling route anymore.

Heh, I just checked my Fanatical account and not counting a couple bundles I just bought I hadn't bought a bundle from them since March 2018. Random that that was when I bought my annual sub from Humble too. So, I know everybody's opinion is different, but that's over 3.5 years without Fanatical having a single bundle I really wanted. I did just pick up Guardian 4 and Killer 19 even though there wasn't a single thing in there I was super excited by. The overall quality of those 2 was really good and I used a 3 off 10 coupon and got a free mystery game.

I guess this month's Choice just wasn't my thing.

I bought three games during Steam's Halloween Sale for around $10 total and didn't bat an eye. I got a $4 coupon offer when I paused and noped right out of there. I'm willing to pay for stuff I like, but I'm tired of padding my backlog with Humble's premium-priced "maybe" games. This month there weren't even many of those.

As an aside... I hadn't checked Prime Gaming in about a month, but did when someone brought it up in this thread. Holy shit am I glad I backed out of that Control switcheroo when Humble had it. Free is a nice consolation prize.

I did add Timelie to my wishlist though... for when it's in a Fanatical bundle for $4 with ten other games.

Counterpoint: Fanatical bundles tend to be cheap so, if I want a single game, the $4 average bundle cost isn't hard for me to swallow. I'm willing to throw down my four bucks and get the game I want and give away the extra keys or use them to backlog or card farm or lay upon them in a heap like a cyber dragon.

Humble Monthly bundles are potentially up to $20 if you're not grandfathered in or have some other promotion. The cheapest "Pick 3 games" price is $15. Even for $12, I'm more likely to seek an individual game on a secondary market than eat the rest of the cost.
I get what you are saying, but you are talking from a personal preference stance. I am talking about what prices the market (aka the general public) is setting for these games, thus taking personal biases out of the equation. Unfortunately we don't have sales numbers for each company so using market indicators is the best we can do.

Another, maybe less valid indicator is the upvotes that the "Gamedeals" subreddit community gives each bundle. Humble bundles almost always get significantly more upvotes than any fanatical bundle, even now, with the crappier bundles. Anyhow, I will leave it at that as I feel like I am starting to sound like a broken record lol.

It's a legitimate point although my observation that kicked the discussion off was more from a personal value perspective.  Granted, Humble stuff tends to have more resale value but I'm too lazy to bother with that.

Right. I'm saying your conclusions based on your "market data" are flawed. "More people are buying Humble games in the trade threads" doesn't directly mean "Humble games are more popular". It could easily mean "More people find it advantageous to buy Humble games via individual trades and Fanatical games via direct purchase".

I'll leave it at that since I'm not terribly invested in the topic; I just thought the argument wasn't a great one.

Just a note, Fanatical'S Platinum collection for November is up, and Wingspan is one of the choices, so that slightly undercuts this month's bundle.

The going rate for wingspan in the gray market is now about $2. This bundle would probably reduce said price further. If you were to buy it from fanatical directly, it would be a bit higher on a per game average. Anyhow, just an FYI for those of you who don't mind buying from the gray market....

Lead and Gold player count about to double -  no, triple in size.

Lead and Gold wasn't amazing even when it had like 30 people playing. I played it years ago and did like 1 or 2 matches collecting gold I think and I was done. Big waste of money.

Second Extinction is really the only game that vaguely interests me in that bundle...and I can't justify spending $11 just to get that. I'll just wait for it to go on sale for 75% off.

Leisure Suit Larry Bundle

$10 for everything. Has pretty much every LSL game available (I don't count the casino games). Has the two newer games as well. I played the first newer one and recommended it even if the relationship part was a bit annoying. Also this is missing LSL Reloaded.

Survive or Die Bundle

$15 for everything. Bunch of survival games. BTA is too expensive so $1 or nothing bundle. Not getting it.

$1 Tier

How to Survive 2

BTA Tier
Dead In Vinland
Die Young
Empyrion - Galactic Survival

$15 Tier
Breathedge
SCUM
The Wild Eight

LOL, they put Magna Cum Laude between LSL 3 and 5 so people won't ask, "Hey, where's the fourth game?" Well played, Hamble.

No Box Office Bust, either, though that isn't available digitally. Plus, it was absolutely panned at release for being an abomination.

I'm fairly tempted by the leisure suit larry bundle, more tempted than I've been by humble in awhile. Not sure if $10 is worth it though since I think I'd only play 6, 7, and the two newer ones.

Given the silence, I assume everyone is celebrating the Humble Sports Bundle.

It may just be me but the discounts this year just stink. I guess these are good if you must play these games now.
Pretty much everywhere - yeah, a lot of deals been "meh" for computer games and hardware for Black Friday.

Looks like most of us will be sticking to the backlog.

EDIT:

Why can't you tell Netflix?
Must be going to Hulu w/ Larry David.

Choose Wisely Bundle.

All Steam keys unless stated otherwise.

$1 Tier:

- Beholder 2

BTA Tier:

- We Were Here Together

- Between The Stars

- Kyle is Famous: Complete Edition

$10 Tier:

- Beyond: Two Souls

- Heavy Rain

- 25% off coupon for Detroit: Become Human over on the Humble Store [Steam key]

Extra note: According to Reddit, the 25% off Coupon stacks & Humble Choice Subscribers get their discount too on top of the already discounted price, so they can get Detroit: BH Steam key for $12 from Humble Store basically.

It looks like Humble Choice is being offered for $99/year. I was actually a Humble Choice subscriber earlier this year as part of the $8/month deal for 3 months but paused my subscription on the 3rd month and canceled my subscription at the beginning of this month.

Even though the deal says "New Members Only", I was able to purchase the year of Humble Choice for $99+tax (the breakdown comes close to the $8/month that I am willing to pay). I'm passing along this info in case others are in a similar situation and curious whether they are eligible or not.

I was able to claim all 10 November games immediately after my payment. I'm definitely looking forward to playing Wingspan since I enjoy playing the physical board game.

Call me crazy, but I'm actually pretty happy with this bundle. Finally getting those 3 Quantic Dream games (with the coupon) for about the price you could get on PSN. Now just need a new PC with one of those mythical RTX GPUs.

I already have Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls on Epic. I really liked those two.

I do want to play Between The Stars and Detroit: Become Human though.

Looks like I'm not eligible unfortunately.

My issue's that I own some of this already. I got Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls on Epic; and have We Were Together & Beholder 2 on Steam.

The thing for me is: Between The Stars has NEVER been this cheap. It's been $14 on sale before...and that's it:

https://isthereanydeal.com/game/betweenstars/info/

For me, might be worth taking the whole thing just to get Between the Stars. Not sure.

If say Detroit BH was the actual game and not a coupon in the $10 tier - I'd have bought this already, for that and Between The Stars.

For those missing Quantic's games and Between The Stars - this one's a no brainer and instant-buy.

I got in on the $99 deal last year.
I'm probably gonna skip this time, you pretty much get a coupon every month if you hold out long enough anyway.
This may be heretical, but I actually liked Heavy Rain for what it was, cringe, QTEs and all. Never played Beyond Two Souls or Detroit on PS4, should get around to it.

Never heard of "Kyle is Famous", but it has a 93% positive rating compared to Heavy Rain's 83% positive rating.  It must be a phenomenal game, a masterclass in interactive storytelling.

I wonder what it's like...

hmm ok then
