Humble Bundle Thread

Ended up caving and getting the Ukraine bundle. I usually don't go for the high-priced trendy cause bundles but the value seems to be there.

The big charity push for Ukraine in general is giving me Haiti 2010 flashbacks, so I decided to look into the four charities before I "donated". Direct Relief is by far the most lean and efficient, with International Rescue Committee not too far behind and International Medical Corps a bit behind both. Razom for Ukraine is a legitimate charity originally formed in Ukraine that has existed in the US since 2015 but has no ratings or reviews on the charity watchdog sites I looked at.

I doubt this information is particularly helpful at this point, but I definitely recommend always vetting charities, especially when it comes to a cause like this. Though it's worth keeping in mind that watchdog sites don't always get it right.

Yeah I could play 20ish games I was missing, so I was like whatever, they could use the money better than I could, and a few were from the wishlist.

So I was making sure my subscription was paused for the month as you do (do it today or tomorrow if you're gonna, btw), and noticed this wording about the rewards while I was there:

Uh... did they stealth nerf the store discount for an active sub to Hamble funny money rebates?

Humble Discounts got changed, when they changed the whole HC thing.

See here:

https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026249173-Humble-Choice-Perk-Growing-Store-Discount

Consecutive Months = Discount

1-2 = 10%

3-5 = 15%

6-11 = 17%

12+ = 20%

Cancel or skip a month, you're back to square 1 at 10%.

That’s not even related to what I asked. I know you have trouble picking up social cues, but at least read what people post.
Easy, princess. It's somewhat related but, yes, he missed the mark a bit. As to whether 'Humble Wallet' means they credit the discount in real time such that you can use that wallet balance on the same purchase or that it's only available after-the-fact on future purchases... well... I guess you'll have to test it and see.

I was feeling bitchy about something else when I posted, so sorry if that came through here, toaster, it wasn’t intentional.

As for testing it myself, I wouldn’t be surprised if they changed their entire model again before the next time I unpause.

It's possible that when you paused, you got marked immediately as inactive and bumped down to a 0 month tier which is a wallet credit rebate as opposed to the 1 month tier which would grant you the upfront 10% discount.

Don't sweat it.

Anyways, I'll go in for maintenance and get my wires checked, re-checked, and re-wired.

Looks like Toaster.Net needs some fixing.

I got offered $3 off Choice on my alternate account, so I finally cancelled Choice on my main account.

I never buy anything on Humble except bundles anyway, so I won't miss the 20% discount, but I saved three bucks!

The Humble discount is garbage anyway rarely being worth full value and rarely working on newer indie games and such. That would be my main use, so why bother?

Humble Magical Living book bundle. Next up: Humble Flat Earth Bundle or Humble Beware of 5G Bundle.

The Killing Floor Collection: https://www.humblebundle.com/games/killing-floor-collection?hmb_source=&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=mosaic_section_1_layout_index_1_layout_type_threes_tile_index_1_c_killingfloorcollection_bundle

Killing Floor 1

Killing Floor 2

Killing Floor Incursion VR

And various dlc

All for $15

$12.62 if you just want the games but don't care about all of the dlc in the top tier

Bottom tier is Killing Floor 1 and some dlc.

Mamma mia, that is a pricey bundle for old games that have been bundled before.

Ghostrunner

Destroy All Humans!

Monster Sanctuary

Killsquad

Rogue Heroes: Tuins of Tasos

Suzerain

Chicken Police

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker

Meh bundle.

Largely games that have been heavily discounted before, but wanted Monster Sanctuary and Destroy all Humans so it's an OK deal.

For me its like a lot of their bundles in the past 2 years or so, there are 2-3 games that I'm nominally interested in so the $12 is probably worth it. Now with the whole discount lock in rules, it incentivizes you to buy it, at least if you're regularly buying new games. Its why they made that change, to stop so many from pausing. I doubt it will work, in this economy anyway.

So I can confirm that if you pause/cancel your membership, it goes to tier 0 which is 10% to wallet as previously mentioned. If you are subscribed for your first consecutive month, that's when the 10% discount kicks in.

I'm gonna get this one, I guess. Just like the last one it tends to be "Here's a couple of games you really want"

and "Here's some garbage!"

Not so much bundles anymore as they are discounts on a couple of games. For me, at least.

On Wishlist:

Ghostrunner

Destroy All Humans!

Looks like something I'd play:

Killsquad

Might be fun:

Rogue Heroes: Tuins of Tasos

All the rest: no hell no

They took Chicken Police from the last pretty bad Choice (just barely passed my passing grade), but this is terrible. Rogue Heroes is in a build a Fanatical bundle right now, and Ghost Runner was a PS+ game, which I'm likely playing on there. Monster Sanctuary is alright, although I bought it on Switch a while back. Pretty sure this is an easy pass unless I get a good discount from them.

And I believe Ghostrunner was free on GOG. Edit: Forgot that it was from Prime

This checks out. I own it there and the only game I've ever bought on GOG is Alpha Centauri.

On a side note, I own 280 games on GOG and have only ever downloaded one.

This definitely won't stop me claiming every free game they offer.

I'm a sick man.

Did anyone else get the Pathfinder bundle and not seeing the shipping update for the physical book? I emailed Paizo and the rep said UPS Mail Innovations tracking has been hit or miss for the last year. No shock there, but the rep confirmed from their end it shipped last Monday. I got it for a reference for a future NaNoWriMo story, because tabletop gaming is more of a spectator sport for me.

Perhaps this is because I already have a bunch of credits from buying a pre-paid year in 2021, but this was an easy claim for me. There's:

- Two games on my wishlist (Ghostrunner and Chicken Police)

- Two games that I had been intrigued by for awhile (Suzerain and Rogue Heroes)

- A game I greatly enjoyed both its original and remake but am glad to have the remake on hand now (Destroy All Humans!)

- A game I never heard of whose genre I usually like (Killsquad)

I could keep Monster Sanctuary but will probably try it out on Game Pass first. A multiplayer anime game is the only thing I have no interest in.

Ugh... I've checked and have Ghost Runner on GOG. Just found Rogue Heroes on Prime... fuck you, Humble, selling your bundle of giveaway crap.

Thanks bud, saved me some dough. I can wait for a discount on the other.

Yeah I was going to buy Gloomhaven at like $17 dollars or something during EA. Kicking myself too. That bundle looks like pure rebundled games, so it's an easy skip.

Oh man, this kind of thing drives me nuts: a trailer for a board game and the entire thing (no exaggeration) consists of CG cutscenes. Not a single 1/10th of a second showing the actual board game.

I'm gonna pass, too.

Ticket to Ride is actually a decent game. Also unique in that it supports five players (maybe six? But at least five) whereas most cap out at four. It's very much a board game though and you gotta be in the mood for a match that lasts at least an hour

Only downsides are that the matchmaking can be a little wonky (at least when I played it on Xbox) and that so many of the maps are DLCs

It's not a bad game. But these Asmodee games have been bundled repeatedly on Humble. And I couldn't pass up the chance to post a Beatles reference. 8-[
