Humble Bundle Thread

Haven't been impressed with their bundles in some time, so may finally let it expire unless there's a significant improvement in the quality of games included.

Wow, that sucks.

I still feel obligated to buy the next monthly (because of them honoring the freebie for those of us who got it this month), but after that I think I'll be done. Unless they drastically increase the quality of the monthlies (which I doubt) I don't feel it'll be worth $15.

I've kept my $12/mo. sub on autorenewal for years, just happy to accrue a library of titles and donate to the cause. It was a good program. But this price hike leaves a very bad taste. I don't believe I will support it any longer. Time to cancel the sub I guess. dumb.

I don't know why every digital service has to get greedy. Just some financial analyst jerk's forecast projection of 'customers lost' being < than "revenue gained".

The price increase probably has to do with inflation and devs being less likely to put their games in a $12 bundle. The dollar was worth more when Humble monthly/choice first rolled out. I don't like the direction IGN has taken with Humble, but I can't blame them for the price increase.

Yeah, I don’t like it and I’m probably going to buy even fewer of these from now on, but it does feel like there’s a distinct difference between the profile and average full price of games getting into Choice bundles today compared to what we were seeing five years ago. I don’t think this price hike is going to prompt a massive increase in the quality of the bundles, but it may mean a few newer, higher profile games creep in every now and then.

Also worth remembering that Choice was $20 for the full bundle back when it started (after replacing the old blind box Monthly) unless you were grandfathered in on the Monthly pricing. Obviously that didn’t do too well for them back then or they wouldn’t have switched to $12 for everyone, but I can’t imagine participating publishers were super happy about the decision.

Eh, it is somewhat tolerable but like with the previous change and increase I don't think it will go over well. The discount at full 20% isn't worth keeping unless you buy a lot from their store and most places are competitive with discounts up to 15%.

I guess it'll depend on how much the annual price is on sale for me. At like the $8 a month now, you can offload a few things and basically have free discount.

Problem is, they often don't put stuff on sale. Like I would have bought the Arland trilogy during the 60% off sale + extra discount from the 20%, but they ended up only putting the individual titles on sale, unlike every other store.

Yeah sometimes humble will have the best price on things I want after the discount but it's rare because of what you said, or they'll have the base discount marked up compared to other sites. Still, it's worth it for the annual sub as long as they keep it $99, which I imagine they will since they did for EU/CA

Yeah I'll grab that just for Rogue Trader. Couple others are icing on the cake, or I'll pass along to my kid.

I figured Rogue Trader would make it's way into a choice bundle eventually. Glad I skipped that fanatical charity bundle. Rest of the bundle is kind of meh though, especially if you're not still on the annual plan

Yeah, this is legit a good monthly bundle. Daemon x Machina, Death's Door, Cat Quest III and Rogue Trader all look like good games.

Shame they raised the price, but I did say I would at least buy this month's bundle cause of them honoring the freebie I got last month and at least it feels like it's worth the $15 asking price. We'll have to see if they keep this up with future Monthly Choices.

What a debbie downer of a deal and thus day.

This will likely be the bundle that I cancel on. The price increase and the Steam sale means the only game I might want is Daemon Robot thing, but that is $12 on Steam. I didn't like Wizard with a gun demo and I own RT. I guess I could skip a month but I lose the store discount either way.

In fact, this is basically the "if you don't own RogueTrader and want it" bundle. Though I think RT was in a Owlcat bundle awhlie back too and you've got two season passes on top of the base game.

Edit: Well, it is a cancel. Daemon X Machina was given away as an Epic freebie at some point and I just confirmed I got it in my epic library.

2nd edit: Death's Door was also free on Epic. Check your Epic library's ahead of time.

Dumb question. What happens to those of us who had a 12 month prepaid sub to Choice. Does the price change impact that? This is the first time they didn't auto resume me

You won't have to pay until your sub runs out. When it runs out you'll be stuck with the price increase like everyone else. I seriously doubt they won't run the same $99 promo that they run every year though

Unless Humble increase the 12-month "sale price" at Black Friday to say $115 or $130. Wouldn't put it past Humble and IGN.

If they run it for $100 again - yeah, I'm in again.

Death's Door (2021) and Daemon X Machina (2020) are both older games and have both been free via epic/prime gaming. I feel like both should be in a dollar tier rather than a humble choice, but I guess DxM got bundled to promote the sequel. Neo Cab is also old and was bundled a couple of times previously.

It's kinda bad when your headliner was in a fanatical charity bundle that was $12.. I think they probably released this bundle knowing they couldn't include any bigger hits due to the summer sale being live, and it's just unfortunate timing that the price increase happened on the same month.

Honestly I’d consider grabbing this if I got an offer for $8 or less, but no way for $15. Kingmaker and WOTR both got bundled with all their DLC eventually, and I haven’t even started WOTR yet, so I can wait for the same to happen to Rogue Trader, much as I’m interested, since I’ve actually played it P&P, however briefly

Really good bundle for local co-op gamers (Cat Quest, Blanc, even that farming game that I’ve never heard of but it looks charming enough). And Rogue Trader on top of that. Yeah, one of the best months in a while for me.

I had Death’s Door wishlisted but I’m noticing “souls-like” being mentioned everywhere about it now, and that’s my biggest flashing red warning sign for a game these days so off to trade thread with that one, along with Daemon and Wizard with a Gun which I have no interest in.

Neo Cab also looks and sounds terrible but there’s always a major dud every month of course.

I’ve still got several months on my $99 yearly sub left but I would probably bite for $15 if that was the only option tbh.

If you have a Netflix sub and wanna give Death’s Door a quick try before you decide what to do with it, Netflix has the mobile version as part of their subscription (though it’s getting dropped in a couple weeks). Has gamepad support.

I’ve only played the prologue, essentially, but the only Soulslike elements I really noticed were that you can unlock shortcuts as you progress through the map, and dying respawns enemies. Feels more like completely combat focused 2D Zelda than Dark Souls to me.

Welp already offloaded it but I appreciate the tip. I just know whenever I see “souls-like” used to describe a game that I end up hating it. I just don’t like a subgenre that fundamentally doesn’t respect my time and expects me to treat a game like a part-time job in order to git good or whatever. Something like Rogue Trader tho or Baldur’s Gate 3 which I’m playing right now… I could just sink over a hundred hours into across like 6 months, go at my own pace and difficulty level and just relax with it in small chunks without the fear of dying and losing hours of progress… that’s more my jam these days lol.

I think this month of choice look neat, I would try/play 7 of those game if I get it.

Big difference of opinion on this month of choice between gaming forum (positive) and reddit (negative). 😅

The humble subreddit collectively convinced themselves for some reason that Robocop Rogue City would be the headliner this month, so hence the disappointment. Redditors are a strange breed of human.

Rogue Trader is wanted, but this is a weaker bundle for sure. I do want Wizard With A Gun, but the others are lesser wants. Still a get for me.

EDIT - I should add this to my post a few up on what's in the Humble Choice this month.
EDIT 2 - And...done!

I think it will come at point ( no rush, I have it on Xbox), since Nacon seem to have put a bunch of game before on Choice.

Robocop has been so consistently cheap the past couple of months that I think it'd make a terrible headliner. It'd be an ok addition to a humble choice but only if it's not the main course. Rogue Trader makes a much better headliner, even if I do think this is one of their weaker bundles.

Probably true but I'm still cheesed off that RoboCop is $10 on GoG but $5 (or less) on Steam. Typical DRM free tax.

Just to be doubly clear, I see essentially nothing that strikes me as being soulslike-ish about Death’s Door beyond some similar map design philosophy and I guess kinda sorta atmosphere.

You will probably die and get set back to your last checkpoint, though, so if you’re just looking to breeze through it, might not be your bag.

I liked Death's Door enough to beat it, but it gets jumbled in my mind with Tunic.

Death's Door is a 7/10, while Tunic is a 9/10 for me. The very clever means of storytelling in Tunic is what makes it great, but...
...the final puzzle being one of the super ARG-esque puzzles is a bummer. I get people love them, but if you're not playing and living games with those in them at release, you kind of miss the boat. It's why I haven't got Animal Well, too.

Weird.. i recall reading the little paragraph humble issued following the promotion mistake in June. It said they were letting people keep the games. Ok, cool.

Today, I check my humble account and the entire bundle has been pulled from my purchase history/library and keys can no longer be accessed. Cute. Why don't they just actually tell people "we're not revoking keys but they will disappear by this specified date"?

Reminded again why I am not onboard with an ongoing subscription. My nephew is actually wanting Cat Quest III, but I'm just going to cancel and try to acquire it individually from someone.

Summer Splash Bundle

$12.00 Tier

Crab God
Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara

$8.00 Tier

ABZU
Blazing Sails
Fishing: North Atlantic

$4.00 Tier

Aquarium Designer
Stranded Sails - Explorers of the Cursed Islands
Ultimate Fishing Simulator

Very meh to me bundle with lots of repeats. Some good stuff though like ABZU.

Wow, you're right. Same thing happened to me. I already claimed the ones I was definitely keeping, but left the ones I wasn't sure of unclaimed. Now they're gone and I can't even find the claimed keys from last month (just as a record that they've been claimed). It's like it never existed at all.

They still let me keep the claimed games, but if they pulled this after saying we could keep the bundles I wouldn't be shocked if they eventually issue a revocation anyways.

I expected this to happen so I took a screenshot of the page. Not really unusual, gamerthor did the same thing when they said they wouldn't revoke anything (removed from purchases/order history). Sucks for anyone that didn't record the keys. I don't think they'll revoke anything but I believe this is a way to keep their losses to a minimum

Summer Games Done Quick 2025 Bundle

$10 Tier

Astra And The New Constellation
Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered
CODE Bunny
Finding Frankie
Lenna's Inception
Lumina Rush
MainFrames
Red Alliance
RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe

A very me type of bundle with a lot of very indie looking games. I'm missing all except RollerCoaster Tycoon (a bit meh honestly though I did like playing it like 20 years ago). MainFrames had an excellent demo, so just getting that alone is exciting for me.
