There's a new Humble "Bundle" out, The Humble Voxatron Debut. Right now it only includes an alpha for Voxatron, but like other bundles, expect more to be added is it goes on. As usual, it's pay what you want and part of your payment will go to charity by default.

This game is still an alpha and is available as a direct download only. There's currently no indication of Steam or Desura keys coming in the future for this game.

Games in this bundle:
* Only available to those who purchased before 11/1 at 10 AM PST and new buyers who pay more than the average.

Update 11/1:
Blocks That Matter and The Binding of Isaac have been added to the bundle. There is a Steam key for the bundle that unlocks both as well as the BoI soundtrack (Steam DLC). If you've already purchased the bundle you have access to them now. Future buyers must beat the average price to get them.

Update 11/9:
Four new games have been added. They are Gish, Jasper's Journey, Chocolate Castle, and Zen Puzzle Garden. Only Gish is on Steam and a separate key is available for it.

Thanks op for the heads up. Tempting but only one game and its not complete? This seems like they are stretching a bit now. That being said the game does look cool
well that is how the Frozen Synapse bundle started as well
At least Frozen Synapse was a complete game. And I know they added the FrozenByte bundle to it pretty fast.

Since this is an alpha-state game, is the humble bundle being used as a form of kick starter now? I'm not sure I like establishing that precedent.

I agree, I'm concerned as well
Steam Registry states this will include Binding of Isaac, the soundtrack to BOI, and Blocks That Matter.
Where's this? That's very interesting.

edit: nvm, found the image. Let's hope it's true, but I won't get excited yet.
I don't care how many games they add, they are asking for money for an alpha game. Not cool with me.
Anyone who bought minecraft begs to differ.

For me, it feels a bit like a cash-in but maybe the other games will make it digest easier.

If I buy now and games by other developers get added, do they get a cut of my payment? I don't remember how that's worked in the past.

This game looks lame to me, but I am interested in other possible games coming to the pack.

oh.. i got issac a few days ago =/

I just put 5 minutes into the game. This computer is a few years old, not built for gaming, and I have a ton of stuff open and in use. It still ran great at 1680x1050.

Also, it's pretty fun and I love the look.

Just saying that the Steam Registry thing is 99% of the time fully correct.

I'll end up buying this bundle soon; been interested in Voxatron for a long time.

Ya the only game that had me looking for an Alpha key when I was about to buy a Beta

For everyone uncomfortable with this: The HumbleBundle started as a Holiday Bundle of the alpha of Overgrowth (the HumbleBundle DEVS) and the alpha/beta of Natural Selection 2.

Get over it. If you don't want to pay, don't. But "precedent" isn't being set here.

The first one was World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Penumbra, and Legaru

The NS2/Overgrowth bundle wasn't a Humble Bundle, it was a Holiday Bundle. Came out in late Dec/Jan of 2010. The first Humble Bundle (which are organized by the Overgrowth guys) came out in the following March. Probably due to the success of their 'bundle' promo.

Threw them a few dollars. Getting the game early (starting in alpha) for a huge discount is a great deal. Plus money goes to devs and charity so...

Bought it! -- As always, excited to see what they add later, though looks like it's leaked.

I saw the picture, curious as to what it is OF. I know it's the Steam Registry, but where exactly? The main registry file of Steam? Just curious to where the original guy at NeoGAF found it.

this is retarded... 1 game that is not even completed? I gave .50 cents... If I ever actually play it and like it (when it is more complete), I will give more.

In for 1. Interested in seeing what else they add in the future. Paid $1.50 since it's just one game. Maybe more once I see what else they add.

Simply put you can give money to the developer and/or to charity. I imagine that for an indie game developer you put a lot on the line to get a product out there. Putting out an unfinished product at a (possibly) reduced cost and getting future updates gratis? Can you blame anyone for trying that especially after Minecraft? Granted it didn't start the trend but it's easily the poster child.

I like the concept though, maybe I'll check it out once is out and I plow through some of these other indie games.

It's a voxel engine which means it's all generated by code. The file size is tiny so it wouldn't be much of a burden to check it out right now.

I don't think it's so much the fact they are selling pre release software but that they are doing it in a guise for charity from what has been a respectable bundle name that bothers people. It feels like the name is being diminished or milked. I can't really justify it with logic it just doesn't sit right. Does anyone know if the humble guys got bought out by activision?

not much of a guise since it is going to charity. If it really bothers people then earmark your money to all go to charity and none for the developer.

since i had $2 left in my paypal i sent it $1 tot he charities. i will wait and see if there is a reason to add to it later.

Cool concept, good looking game, but the gameplay isn't quite there. The TDS aspects of it don't feel polished, there's not a good way to aim and shoot, the mouse aiming is pretty dreadful. I definitely look forward to seeing what they add to it though.

I think I'll wait and see what they'll inevitably add later. Game looks interesting though and I LOVE those videos they do with their crazy celebrity impressions.

It may just be an alpha but Voxatron looks so cool.

Based on that and the inevitable extra games, I feel alright about tossing in a few bucks.

Hrm. Well if Blinding of Isaac gets added I'll jump in. A Humble "Bundle" of one game doesn't sound like much of a bundle at the moment.

I just pulled out my 2-year-old Intel Atom 1.6 ghz netbook and the game plays great on that at native resolution. I know people have asked about netbook compatibility for some of these lower requirement games in the past and I'm happy to report that this one is for you.

To be fair, they do title this one "Humble Voxatron Debut" and don't use the word bundle. I added it to the title to help people find the thread by searching for bundle and it's likely more games will be added to make it one.

How can you people bitch about a deal where you can pay what you want to whom you want(including charity!)? You technically could get the damn thing for free if you are that up in arms about it.

Sweet! I wonder if my old Eee netbook will handle it. I'll have to dig it out and find out (it's only 700MHz, I think.)

No one is bitching. We're just commenting on the curious direction of this Humble offering. I still bought it. The Humble Bundle folks have earned my trust for now, so I'll support them. It's simply considering that the direction the Humble Bundle had been going (you know, bundles) has shifted with the last two offerings beginning with a single game, this one an incomplete one.
