i was at walmart saturday night and they had resident evil apocalypse for sale.. i thought it had come out that week so i bought it. i bought the 2 pack with part 1 and 2 for 24.99

i just found out today that the movie is not even out yet.......some places still have it for pre order

not a big deal but cool
apocalypse rules.. i love the way they redid scenes from part 3 and code veronica
and i love the way they took one of my favorite video game story lines and massacred it.

jill valentine was such a tacked on character to create the illusion that they were following the games.

change her name and 90% of the link between movie and game dissapears.

when i saw the movie, there were parts i was downright embarassed to be in the theater (the church scene with the lickers comes to mind)

I was embarassed at that part too, when Alice comes through the window on a motorcycle all I could say was WTF?
I absolutely love resident Evil: Apocalypse. It is my favorite video game based movie/adaptation.
Same here, finally dethroned Mortal Kombat as my favorite game based movie.
how could any res evil fan not like this movie....jill valentine looks hot and is a bad ass as well.
Well, I made multiple points in my post in the other forum, but I don't want to spoil it.. there was a lot wrong with this movie..

nah i love res evils but they dont take down mortal kombat. mk rules

the movie was way too much glam.
too many crappy un-needed explosions, not enought plot and suspense

zombies should be in horror movies not action movies.

then end blew too. the very non-ending end. all it did was set up another zombie action movie

well it wasnt perfect but i still enjoyed it alot. the fact that it connected more with the games is what i liked about it. i dont like the whole alice thing that much

ill give you 2 things

mk is still the king of game movies...that movie rocks.
apocolypse was better than the first, but thats hardly saying anything at all...

So your copy of Resident Evil also has Nemesis turning into a wimp?

i heard in teh RE: Apocalypse DVD it comes with an ad or something saying u can get a free RE4 tshirt. is that true? i read it at IGN.com i think.

ugh whoever writes these shitty movies pisses me off to no end!

the first resident evil was fuckING MADE to become a movie. all the elemnets are already there all you have to do is write a script!

im glad romero left the franchise before it started, hes a wonderful director and would hate to see his name on movies like these.

yea it does
how was nemesis a wimp..i think they did an awesome job with him
they added him into a psudeo love story.
they made him the big giant with a heart of gold
:puke:
lol love story lol...

yea well you have point there but he still looked incredible.... and it wasnt all that bad
ill give them that, they nailed his look, he was impressive.

i dont care that you liked the movie, thats fine, so dont think im trying to argue with you (as i often do about a certin rassler) i just really hate the direction these movies go in, i swear they are written by people who have never even looked at a plot outline of a resident evil game!

of course, im not that thrilled with the direction of the re game series after re2...

It is like this movie was made for people with really short attention spans.

Thats what I thought about it when I saw it.

I don't know what that comment about not liking the direction of the series after RE2 was about. Code Veronica has to be the best RE ever, I don't know how you can dis it.

it wasnt BAD, i mean i like the re games, but imo 1+2 were the best, after that its just been down hill, but even still, they are better than almost every horror game (except silent hill)

i liked veronica alot. res evil 2 is still my fav. part 1 remake was incredible as well.

and im in love with the re4 demo so thats looking good as well
yea i think that "rassler" would of made a great nemesis
i dunno, what if nemesis had to do more than 2 things? he would have been screwed

:? ... Fatal Frame blows both RE and SH out of the water if you talk about horror games, Silent Hill wins in weirdness, but RE will always have a place in my heart as the first to do it.

imo

resident evil
silent hill
fatal frame/eternal darkness
everything else (alone in the dark, siren, the suffering)

i just ordered eternal darkness and ive heard great things about fatal frame 2...especially the last one on xbox which scored very well
how was nemesis a wimp..i think they did an awesome job with him
Because he TURNED.

It's like, OMG, holy sheet, here's this big tall fat ass mother fucker with a huge fucking wart growing out of his head and four rows of teeth in a leather coat adn jesus christ he's got a chaingun and he's ready to die and he's under our control BUT WAIT even though he's under our control he still has a mind of his own and OH NO our own creation turned against us.

That, the ending being so fucking retarded, Mike Epps playing the stupid fuck that typical horror movies have (though they usually get KILLED - Why didn't he DIE?!), and a whole lot of F-bombs that were unneeded equals a shitty movie.

Though I'd probably be complaining a lot less if you could jump through church windows for no fucking reason on a motorcycle and magically running down a building when it's easier to get a sniper rifle and shoot the tard up on top of the building.

All in all, overblown typical action movie. The Nemesis costume was great, the black comic relief sucked, the storyline sucked, and Milla's non-existant tits and her need to always show us them sucks. The movie was mediocre at best, you could probably do much worse, but whatever. It totally spiraled in a different direction than I thought it would which pissed me completely off, because at the end of the first one, you're like oh shit, she's loose, the city's infected, she has a shotgun and it's her against the world.. then you have reinforcements, a whole slew of people that aren't infected (even though the entire city was destroyed in the first one), etc.. bleh.

ED is pretty good.

I need to go on a horror binge and beat all the RE games (I have all of them now, and have only beat the REmake and 2), and all of the SH games (1-3) along with ED to get the true ending

i wa sjsut watching part 1 and for some reason the song at the end where alice is alone outside the city sounds so much like the metroid prime 1 menu song

are there special featurettes on the 2-disc set? any good behind-the-scenes material?

sorry, i know the word 'good' is very subjective when used in the context of these 2 movies.

You can thank Paul Anderson for the shitty writing, he taints everything he touches.

An example of pure stupidity, when they are outside the church, no rain. Enter the church, suddenlly thunder and lightning. Then when they exit the church, no rain, no thunder, the pavement isn't even wet.

Don't even get me started on Captain "bling bling" Stereotype, god that movie was irritating.

"Please, all my shit is custom"

*shoots black guy in the head*

I KILLED TEH SEQUEL!

I honestly wish he was eaten in the movie.

Oh, and the scene with the kid zombies.. the movie sucked.. but DAMN that was one of the freakeist scenes ever.

I remember coming out of the theater and some teenager screamed out "I love this fucking movie!" in public. I felt embarrassed.

Also when I was watching the special features on the dvd, Paul W.S. Anderson wanted his ending to be Alice walking in a building shooting a rocket with several mini rockets coming out of them. The dvd player spat the disc at my face and my mind was mentally raped.

I'm still saving for a lobotomy.

She may not require a lot of engineering in her lingerie but I'll never spite a B-movie for showing Milla nekkid. She does it very well.

I've long felt there should be an Oscar category for gratuitous nudity in films. This would do honor to actresses who by and large have no hope of ever being taken seriously on their performances but possess bodies that when exposed are deserving of a standing ovation. For instance, Jamie Leigh curtis in 'Trading Places.' Nothing in the story really called for it but an already good comedy was greatly enhanced by her magnificent mammaries.

Curtis has a reasonably good rep as an actress but some other names come to mind. Kari Wuhrer is a merely passable actress but really deserves high praise for the way her nude scenes have improves so many films. One of the reasons 'Anaconda' was an awful movie, besides the ones most often noted, is that Kari Wuhrer was in two-thirds of the movie without ever appearing unclothed. When Jon Voight broke her neck I thought surely the movie was going to sidetrack into necrophilia as an excuse to expose Ms. Wuhrer but alas, it was not to be. An inexcusable failing.

Resident Evil I kinda liked, despite its cheesiness, but RE:A I did not see, mostly becaues any gamer I knew who saw it said it was an absolute disgrace.

I'll pick this up, regardless of quality, soon.

Even if they'll re-release the DVD in about a year with "more bonus features".

Bah, who cares anyway? I'll get the DVD sometime soon.

Im a huge fan of the games, and i loved the movie to a certain extent. All i did was keep an open mind when going to see it, and tried not to compare it to the games and I came out loving it.

Meh, RE:A was pretty bad, but in a campy, Evil-Dead-without-a-lot-of-gore way. Yes the plot blew, yes they made Nemisis a fucking puss, and yes, Jill and Carlos were tacked on with no real purpose. Regardless, they was some good, some humor, and a smidgent of fan service, I'd say an even 2/4 stars.

As for part 1. . . I thought it was overall better than RE:A. The zombies played a more pivital part, the gore was more giving and the setting was cramped and more confined, making it slightly intense.

As for calling the movies nothing more than action flicks will minimal scares and incoherant plot. . . well look at the source material. :p With the exception of the upcoming RE4, none of the RE had focused on anything more than quick, abuitrary scares. Don't take me wrong -- I love the RE series, destine to be Capcoms loyal cusumer till the day they put out a truly crappy RE game (the exception being Suvivor and it's sequals). Even with my (pardon the pun) undying love, I can still see past them at what they really are, guess it's just my "reviewers sense" that everybody tells me about. :p

Anywho, on-topic, not a bad deal there Guyver, no matter what these shmucks tell you.
