I got a free copy of Tactics Ogre GBA from Gamershare
I've had to do that as well. Thats total BS. Its like if breathing was manual.
yup.

I know it's a Beta but WOW, do they have some stuff to fix. By the way, did anyone notice any changes over the last day or so? They were supposed to implement some of those changes by now right??

And that sucks to be him to not join for the first 'free' game. What other changes were gonna be put in it to fix it?
any response from them yet? i sent my 2 games out w/ delivery confirmation.
We contacted the member who shipped you the "Dark Alliance for PS2" video game and they informed us the game was originally mailed on 08/22 but was returned due to insufficient postage and was remailed on 08/25. Also note, every trade is protected by GameShield and GamePoints are not awarded until the game has been received successfully. In addition, any member who attempts to defraud the system by saying they mailed games when they did not or list games as active with no intent to trade them is suspended immediately.

The website has been in "beta" for one month and improvements are being evaluated daily and implemented whenever possible to ensure that the peer-to-peer trading service is fair and safe

THIS IS WHAT I WROTE BACK

thank you for getting back to me so quickly. sorry if i sounded rude but i been burned too many times on other sites like this. I still think it would be best if there was a way to put in Tracking numbers so there is proof that people do send the games. I dont know about others but once this site gets up running major time i will do more business with it even with DC. Right now a shipped game runs me 2.40 per game to ship (first class with insurance) -- i know im protected but i like to put something on it.

to ship a game first class with delivery confirm would only run people around 1.90 for a complete game (game with book and box)

i will say this though, i like this site more then any other online trading site like this cause its more simple to use and understand.

I do have one more question though, is there any idea when this site will be out of beta so i know when to dump most of my points , Meaning after this last game gets there i will have over 40 pts

so right now i could get between 4 to 8 games BUT once it goes out of beta it will cost me between 8 to 16 bucks to get these same games (since it will then cost 2 bucks per trade) Will we be giving a major time notice when the site will leave beta and start to cost money to trade or will people who joined in beta have points be given Free trade credits

thanks

Soooo it seems the game is going to be disc only, and probally broken (all games i got by trade sites that only pop a disc into a slip cover come broke

. I should know by Thursday

that sucks.

I hope that I luck out and get my game complete.
that sucks.

I hope that I luck out and get my game complete.
Getting the game complete doesn't bother me that much since I'm mainly looking for DS games. It would be nice, but all I would need to do is just put the small cart into a carrying case or something... Well thinking back on that, I could lose the game really easily since of the size, yea that does suck. lol

don't bet on it. these sites don't require complete games to be sent...it is only encouraged.
Can somebody please answer my question that I asked on the last page?
i'd put it in a padded envelope and mark it fragile
Can I just put it in a metal mail bin or do I have to go to the post office?
priority shipping requires a PO visit....anything else does not such as 1st class and media mail.

Unless you do the online shipping bit, then you never have to go to the PO. :D

even online you have to drop priority at the physical PO right? you might be able to schedule pick up for free.

yeah I know that about goozex.com but it seems that a good amount of people have received complete games from gamershare.

As far as Goozex goes they should at least encourage people to ship the insert and manual with the disc. I know they said that they are looking into this but haven't heard anything since then.

Those DS carts are so tiny and fragile I'd be nervous about receiving one in the mail that wasn't in a case.... especially with how my local USPS handles packages.
even online you have to drop priority at the physical PO right? you might be able to schedule pick up for free.
If I only have one or two packages to go out, I just leave them in my mailbox and the mailman himself takes them for free... don't have to schedule anything.

When I have alot of packages, I just drop them off at the metal bin, whether it's priority, first class, media mail, who cares. I make the labels here and I never have to wait in that hour long line at the PO.

Well if they do come back broken, and everybody has gamershield for faulty games and/or Users.

they claim it prevents them from offering quality trading at the low low price of 1.99 per trade. i think if they mandated complete games only it would make the 1.99 + required shipping too much for the avg trader...whatever.

if i could find a place that had a lot of good games to trade i would be happy to pay 4 bucks per trade ( 1.50 to company and 2.50 to ship)

its alot cheaper then local trade shops ( 9 bucks per trade)

agree...that's why their reason of keeping the "disc only is acceptable" policy doesn't fly with me. why not mandate complete games? or at least make two separate levels, one for disc only and the other for complete games.

I finally got a game after closely tending to my list for nearly 2 weeks. Forza Motorsport came complete, but there was a crack in the bottom of the case with a small piece missing. I checked the envelope, and there were no broken pieces, so it must have been broke before it was sent.

I'm not mad about it since beggars can't be choosers. I wish they had some kind of checkbox for box/manual/insert/condition or just a blank comments line where you could describe anything you like about the game. They also need to add a "browse all available" at least for each system, if not site-wide. The Most Wanted section method doesn't seem to work anymore.

After confirming receiving the game, I noticed by default, it schedules your game to be made available back on the site in 7 days. You can delete or change the length of time, but if you didn't, your game reappears on the site as available. I'm sure a lot of games that "disappear" from the site are just people who had their games relisted and didn't want to trade it back again.

now that's weird. its like they are wanting to be a p2p gamefly or something. 7 days with a game? was there an option to make it like 30 days via a pull down bar or something?

Yeah, the options are 5 days, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, Hold Indefinitely, Delete Permanently, and Release for Hold.

I have no idea what the last one means. They're trying to build up a trading community, so it makes sense in that way. The more games they have listed, the more attractive the site will look to traders.

You can keep the games you just have to go to "listed games" and delete it permenantly. I found this out a week ago too and I was just glad I did. My devil may cry came with case and no instructions but thats fine for me.

Sent out my first game today. Hopefully I get my 5 points soon with something for 9 points in stock for me to use them on.

Good trial run since the Viewtiful Joe that went in the mail is the one I got free from Goozex. No loss if it goes sour. Cost a whole $1.11 to send out the disc in a generic DVD case inside a bubble mailer.

well i almost crap my pants today when i opened up my box and found a game in the mail

DARK ALLANICE 2 Playstation 2 came today Complete and looks mint (no scratches) will probally toss the sucker up on ebay in a few days . Now before you scream WHY NOT PUT IT BACK UP. cause i can take that money and buy other games to put on the site.

I have already Traded out 7 to 8 games and only got 2 back (this one and Advance wars) I figure if this game for 30 to 50 bucks then im about break even (paid 10 bucks for each game i shipped)

meaning i will be putting more games up very soon (got around 20 listed)

in the next few days/ weeks i should list SSX tricky PSP and maybe Prince of persia DS

I thought that DMC should of been atleast 7 points, lol. but oh well.

I see that they adjusted the points scale on some games again. It looks like they're adding more points to the games that are most requested/wanted rather than basing it solely on release dates. I think this works out better, in that the games that are most in demand and least in supply cost the most and vice versa. It's very much like a free-market economic system like ebay.

Well, Metroid Prime Pinball was taken by someone else, Found nanostray though. Hopefully it will pend. If its somebody on here having it up for trade on gamershare, plz let me have it!!

lol that copy of Nanostray is mine :p I'll probably send it out later tonight.

Yo defmonkey was your copy of devil may cry greatest hits? I was just finishing the game on easy today (lame that I have to use easy but its a hard game lol) and during the credits it just froze. I beat the last mission again and it froze on the same part. I had reported the game on gamershare but since you're a CAG I sent the a mesage saying that it worked fine it was just the PS2. ;) Gotta watch out for my fellow CAG's so cant let you lose the points.

I got it in a trade from punk77 from gametz.com. I was meaning to try it, but I never gave it the time. Didn't even take the disc out. And yea, mine was a greatest hits. I was actually gonna save that game for another EB trade 3 in and get 10 bucks extra. But decided to throw it in there. Like I said, I never even touched it. And I doubt that Punk77 took bad care of it, because he's one of those hardcore game collectors, lol. But I feel really bad for it freezing on you. It could be the disc. I remember playing playing metal gear solid on the 'ole ps1 and it froze at the same spot alot. Is the disc in good shape?

doomlv20: Hey man, thx alot. I found polarium and was gonna stick to that until I found that game, read it on IGN and was like sweet, I like shooters!
Hey I got Polarium up there too, cmon you know you want it, papa needs points!
If they dropped it from 9 to 7, I would hit that. And plus theres 2 copies, we're not sure If I would be getting yours, lol.

Well the disc looks okay at first glance but if you look closely you can see some "clusters" of scratches. The part thta pisses me off is that the only part it freezes on is about 3/4 of the way through the credits so it doesn't save that the game was beaten. It's alright though cuz you didn't know.

Because they can doctor a disc for like a dollar and some change.

FF: Tactics Advanced (GBA)
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (GBA)

i would put a FF up for trade but the trade pts are way too low (5 pts)
i would put a FF up for trade but the trade pts are way too low (5 pts)
looks like they pumped it to 8pts. when i chose it, it was 5. i have picked games worth total 22pts, but i only have a 21pt balance. that fucking sucks if they tell me i don't have enough pts because i did when it was five, now that it is 8...so so much. i guess i'll drop one of the games now to make sure.

how long can these things show available? we're going on three days now. i'm not sending my max payne2 until i get some feed back on the games i've had in the picked to receive for 3 days.
i would put a FF up for trade but the trade pts are way too low (5 pts)
yea, thats really bad, I would rather pick up Final Fantasy IV instead, is that at 5 as well? Or has that bumped up?? I bet Gamershare thought at first that GBA games should be set at a 5 point benchmark, when theres alot of good games for the GBA.

FFIV is now at 9 instead of 5 or 7...i can't remember. i contacted them asking if we picked to receive at a certain point value were we locked in or would the value rise for the titles we picked at a certain value rise with all the others. just curious cause as of now i'd be happy just getting a game instead of a cancellation.

it better stick at the price it was quoted. One of my games went from 5 to i think 15

someone put up something good... I tried for Metal Gear Solid 3,but it went unavailable minutes after adding to my list.
it better stick at the price it was quoted. One of my games went from 5 to i think 15
Yea, thats why I'm a bit hesitant to put some of my other games up. Devil May Cry was at 5 and I bet it'll bump upto 7 soon. I'm really hesitant to put Soul Calibur II up because its at 5 right now *prays it goes to 7* lol. I wish more people would put more DS games on. Like Bomber Man For instance... Its 7 points and I have 7 points exactly, lol. Any Takers? I think I'm gonna look at the EB under 10 buck bin and pick up some games to trade here. They got Metal Gear Solid 3 here listed for 7, and its like 5 bucks at EB. Just gotta hope somebody wants it, lol.

well it appears that whatever the "market" changes the value to, that increase is reflectedin your pick to receive. basically you get charged more than the value you "picked" it at.
