I got a free copy of Tactics Ogre GBA from Gamershare

I had an idea similar to this earlier in the summer. It's nice to see I didn't miss out on a good idea.

All in all... this really seems to suck.

I opened an account and half an hour later I closed my browser on that site for the last time.

Just my opinion.

eh... It's slightly more streamlined then-

It takes entirely too long to find games that are actually available, let alone games that are available and I'd like.
From everyone else's experience, it's not uncommon for orders to be 'cancelled' and for games not to be sent.
Top that off with a seemingly capricious point value system. Barnyard for the GBA is about the same as Phoenix Wright for the DS.

A crap movie licence game == A game sold out/back ordered 90% of the time.

Tell me that if I offered you Ant Bully for Shadow of The Collossus, you wouldn't giggle your ass off?

And once the beta is over, you have to pay $2 for the privilege for trading Katamary Damancy and Pikmin 2 for whatever new Pixar game is out.

"Wait a minute!" You may be thinking... "I'm not trading Katamary and Pikmin 2 for 'The Bravest Lil' Onion Tree Bowl Story'! I'm trading it for Oblivion for the 360, ass!"

As far as the site is concerned, random suck game is worth as much as Oblivion. If the good games and the sucky games are worth the same amount... Soon the good games go, and the sucky games remain.

And you'll be paying $2 for it. So, yeah, pardon me if I don't want to start trading my good games to accumulate some magical 'point' number with no value outside of a system that could easily just become choked with the offal of the game industry.

I finally received a game!!!!

I received a complete PS2 copy of Medal of Honor: European Assault in the mail today. The game is HORRIBLY scratched but this might have been partially due to the disc being loose in the case, but amazingly it seems to play fine with no problems (so far).

Did anyone from CAG send this one? I'm really just happy to receive something so I'm not complaining.
 
I just found this thread and tried joining, but it doesn't list me as having any points. Do they still give points just for signing up?

And I agree that the reason so many people are canceling their orders is simply because they didn't realize that the site automatically re-lists the games they get after a few days. They aren't doing it to be mean.

If the game says available in my picked games but it says not available when you look up the game, does that mean I am first in line for it and its waiting for the seller to aprove it?

dont get your hopes up. I had mario party 5, shadow hearts new world and shadow hearts 1 all show up that way and none shipped

I might just try for Mario Kart: Super Circuit, since I have no idea if any of the three games I'm currently holding out for will ever show up. Though I'm sure it will be cart-only.

Kameo is shipped. The problem is that when I added it to my wish list it had cost 9 points. now its going for 11. they shipped it out and now I have -2 points. WHat THE F___!!!!!! I sent them a message telling them that they need to redeem me two points because when I reserved it it had not cost 11 points. If they dont reimburse me I'll just never use their little site again. But it is pretty cool that Kameo is actually shipped. I hope it comes with a case.

dont worry about it they are cool and you will probally get those 2 pts back. when the site was new i traded one of my games away for another game and the game went up by 2 pts. They gave me an extra 2 pts so i could get the game ... Just email them and they will help you

I'm hoping that's the case, since Mario Kart for GBA has been sitting in my picked list for almost a week, says available, but unavailable on the product page. Pretty sweet how nothing happens one way or the other though.
 
I had Socom on the PSP show up as available twice in my picked to recieve list since the initial trader bailed and I have yet to get to the point where it has been mailed to me. So to me, it looks like that picked to recieve list does not really do anything unless you add the game while it is available.

Yeah they really are cool. They responded really quickly and gave me my points back. It has been a loooong time since they told me Kameo was shipped but I have redeemed faith.
 
I'm a little confused about how this works. I found a game I wanted, then clicked add under the name. Now it's under my picked to receive list. Is that all I need to do and hope I receive the game or is there another step to process the game you added and want to get?

That's all you have to do. Unfortunately their system sucks, so a game like Mario Kart: Super Circuit sits in my Picked to Receive list for a week, and then suddenly becomes unavailable. Luckily the game I traded to get my points back to 9 was free, so worst case I get nothing for nothing.

Finally got Deus Ex: The Conspiracy today. It came complete, but the disc was a bit smudged. However, some disc cleaner solved that problem, and now it looks practically brand new. But as some people said before, this site needs to get its act together before I consider using it again. I also took down the two games I had up (R-Type Final and Hitman 2).

Since I have no idea when they're leaving beta, I'm most likely gonna just pick a random 9 point game pretty soon here. Nothing I want is either available or stays available once I pick it. I'll just get something that will at least give me a few bucks trade/resale value to get something I do want.
 
Kameo still isnt here but they say it was sent. I am now going on 16 days and not having it show up yet. I hope I will actually get it but if I dont I wont be crying about it or anything (considering I got the points for free).

Battlefield 2 took about 1 month to get sent, so you kind of have to be patient.

i'm just going to get some meh games and use the points up before i go there one day and get a "404 error: the owners of this site have packed up and got the fuck out of the game trading business" message.
 
Just a question, but if the sender marked the game sent Sunday (on Labor Day weekend) and another copy of the game reappeared shortly after mine was marked "delivered," did he just pull a fast one on me? Or is it just an instance of a lazy sender and a coincidence posting? I removed the copy I was sent from the system, so it's not mine that's showing up.

If anyone's unsure of the game status, it hasn't arrived yet. I'm willing to wait for it, I just wanted to get this cleared up if possible.

I'm still waiting on my copy of Everblue 2. It was "mailed" the day before Kessen 2, and Kessen arrived almost 2 weeks ago now.

I'm pretty sure I'm never getting another game from Gamershare, luckily I didn't invest any games that actually cost me money. Second time Mario Kart Super Circuit has shown as available while it's been in my Picked to Receive list, and second time it shows not available when I click on it, meaning I ain't gettin it.
 
I picked Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PS2) and the seller said that it was shipped on 9/9. Since I hadn't received it and GameShare automatically changes the status to delivered after 7 days, I clicked on the "Delivered" status and indicated that it had been lost in the mail. I'll see what happens next...

I'm pretty happy with the site so far.

I also requested Dance Dance Revolution, which never arrived (supposedly lost in the mail but I doubt it was sent out), which I was refunded for and Super Mario Advance 2 (bootleg), which I was refunded for and sent in to Goozex (they covered shipping).

Now that you can request complete games, I plan on requesting a lot less disc-only games, although I'm fine with getting cart-only GBA games like I have been.
