I went to Circuit City the other day and bought the game Breakdown (Xbox) for $8+tax. I paid ten and got the change one of which was a quarter. The quarter was a Wisconsin quarter so I checked on the internet and saw that mine was the rarer one worth around $1,000. w00t. Although I have not gotten it checked by a professional, I am pretty sure it is the real rare one. IMO, this is the best deal ever.

EDIT: For those who don't lmow about this, go HERE
How can you tell if it's a rare one?
It has an extra stock off of the corn (left side of the corn) pointing up or down.

I believe they are both rare. Correct me if I am mistaken...

Nice. Good luck unloading it though... You will probably have to pay someone to certify as to its authenticity and then hope that some collector out there is willing to pay $1,000 for it...
Congratulations! Keep it sealed for ten years, and you'll be rich!
Good idea. My mom works at a bank and I gave her $20 to change into the quarters. I hope to get another one :).

There are three versions of the Wisconsin quarter. The normal one doesn't have any extra leaf on the stalk, the rarest has the leaf pointing down and the more common of the rare ones has the leaf pointing up. I hope that this helps things just a bit.

Darn, I got the stock pointing up. How much is that worth?

It looks like there are a LOT of wisconsin quarters on ebay. It'll only get a LOT if it's untouched and uncirculated.

A lot of people are selling entire rolls of Wisconsin quarters for $20-$30

Here is a pdf showing the two variant types of quarters.
Cheap ass link
It doesn't show the original quarter design, but that is basically the same thing without the lower leaf that is on the other two.
Do you think that misprinted Wisconsin Quarters will ever become rare/valuable?
Uncirculated...YES.....how rare, who knows.

Yeah can probably get a little more for it right now if it's touched...how much, who knows.

im still looking for the one with 2 cow heads :)

Collectors estimate about 1,000 of the flawed coins have surfaced in Arizona and Texas.

if they found 1,000 in just those two states i would dump it as fast as i could cause i would expect it to drop like a rock in price ...

Yes because only a million were made so if you don't circulate them for twenty years you'll be rich.

o_O.... sad.

I'll hit mine with a hammer and chizel off the cow's ear. Then I'll have a one of a kind.

Great find. Congrats!

I always like it when people are like "Man, I wonder how much I can get for this $2 bill" simply because my response is "TWO 1 DOLLAR BILLS!" People need to remember that it's only worth something if someone atns to pay it. Like sportscards.
