They are doing a "life of a sports gamer" show, they will take a person and bring him to a sports team where he will teach the sports team how to play the video game, and the sports team will teach him how to play the real game...

They said its mine if I wanna do it, thing is I don't know. I dont think I am ready for my 15 mins of fame.

What do you all think?

This is 100% serious BTW

Sounds like fun to me, and I dont think being on g4 would count towards your 15 minutes, :)

Can I ask which sport and which team, because for some people meeting their favorite team is a bigger thrill than being on Television

I dont think I should get to big on the details, until Monday I think thats the day it will be official if it happens..

The sport is baseball (Thank god it isnt football imagine teaching Ray Lewis? lol)

I will spill more after I see if its ok (which I dont see why not)

They said they would wanna come next week, which I thought was crazy or not enough time.
I also might live in a house which may not be too suitable for TV lol, I dont live in a trailer but still. I dont live in the OC either.

For my opinion I think you should really do it considering it would be kinda cool being on tv (especially G4) but there is one problem if I was chosen, I REALLY SUCK AT ANY PHYSICAL SPORT WHATSOEVER, so to make a long story short, I would completely do it dude.

Not enough time? It's a week away! What do you want? A tummy tuck and Botox injections for your lips?

Roll with it.

totally do it. If you're a geek master and you suck at sports, it's only for the better!

embrace your geekdom.

If your house is a shitbox and you're embarrassed about it, hey life's a bitch and then you die!

But definitely give a shoutout to CAG. In fact, if I see this shit on TV and see you give a shoutout, I'll paypal you $5.
"my mom said I would never get anywhere with these games!"
oh no I hope that isnt from that commercial that was recently playing for that college.

So you're teaching a baseball team how to play a baseball game?

Most minor league players I know (and Majors I've read about) are avid VG Baseball players. They could teach me a few things.

BTW I got a shirt from CheapyD at e3- I get so many comments on that. One lady that worked at the post office checks the site and is a Magic: The Gathering nerd. Who wouldda known?

oh...it is
"my mom said I would never get anywhere with these games!"
HAHAHHAHAHAHA funny

I bet alot of people have no idea why either

"Oh no, here comes the boss!"

 that commercial looks like it was made in the 80s.

Thanks for your support so far, right now I am leaning towards a no... Too much of a rush, honestly. I dont even know what I get, I think just the trip and experience which is cool itself. Im just a sports gamer for the most part, I like a little of everything but there is nothing like a game of Madden. lol

My house isnt that bad one of the biggest on this block, just needs some remodeling. I live with my young grandparents (56+57 yrs old) and I am 20 yrs old...

Monday I will have my final answer. Just was wondering what everybody else would do....

Do it man. Tell us how everything goes.

I would do it if I got to meet some NBA players. I play a lot of ESPN NBA 2K5 and I am not bad at basketball. It would be fun to teach them how to play the videogames and then get tips from the pros. If you like the sport, then I see no reason why you should not go. At the very least, it is a nice trip.

 If it was tech tv like it was back in the day I would be even more happy for you. However congrats and I hope you have fun.

If you pass on this you'll almost certainly regret it later.

Only concern would be they may be looking to edit the show to make the gamer into an uncoordinated uber-geek. But you'll be playing with pros, it's not like you should be anywhere near their league. (Just make sure you beat them at the video game :) )

From your OP 'bring him to the team' I figured you'd be going there, but then a few posts down you say they'll be using your house for stuff? That is kind of odd IMO, I'd be careful as to what is involved there. (Make sure they won't leave junk everywhere or holes in the wall from their equipment.)

They will be coming to my place interview me and look at my setup, then fly me to the ballpark sometime later that day I take it... If they hook me up with a new setup Ill take it almost definitely, like the E3 gamer thing they had on spike tv. If its anything like that I wanna go that guy had a ball...

You have a chance at picking up some of those cuties that host some of those shows amd you might get an opportunity to kick Kevin Perrera in the nuts-- there's no quetion.

Well...it does appear that they are playing a PSX so I would say its around 7 years old :D
get sarah lane's # for me perhaps?
I'll take one order of the girl who demoed Nintendogs at E3.

Guy 1: "Oh no, the boss is comming."

Boss: "Are you guys almost finished testing that game? I got another one that needs to be designed."

Guy 2: "You need to tighten the graphics up on level three."

Boss: "Great!"

Guy 1: "My mom said I'd never get anywhere with these games!"
definitly do it man....do it for the chicks, i hear they love g4tv
You've been misled.

Do it, unless the team is the Devil Rays. There is no hope for the Devil Rays.

If it's the Dodgers, watch out for Milton Bradley and Jeff Kent. I hear that they are nuts.

I think they just edited the begining of a porn movie to make the commercial.....that's the only explanation for the horrible acting.

the next line:

Boss: "Well, if you keep playing.....you can go all the way....."
*unbuttons shirt*

Bradley is going to have season ending surgery, so no worries there. As for the DRays, they aren't that bad. I think Carl Crawford is a really good player.

Now I would rent that just for laughs.
Nail Morgan Webb!
I wish.

It would also be nice to meet Adam see how he acts in real life, I doubt thats going to happen though.

Also the team is not the Devil Rays which would make me want to do it even more since they are my favorite.

Still deciding, I gotta find out dates and what I get. Just going to the teams dugout and getting a few autographs would be nice and worth the while along with game seats.

Im just not much for the spotlight, like if my local paper or news gets involved I would not want that. My city (a suberb of Tampa) gets real big on these kinda little things.

I also have to figure out a few things, its not as easy as "Lets do it!" Since they gave me a week or so to prepare, They said they have been trying to contact me for a month or so which is odd since there is always someone to answer the phone most of the time. Right now I have a few things on my mind that will decide me going....

Thanks for the feedback so far

Hopefully you arent a typical FATASS that will humiliate gamers as a whole.

BTW, does G4 actually think this will make good TV? The only thing that might be remotely entertaining is if you are indeed an uncordinated fatass thats falls and rolls on floor while playing the sport.

G4TV is indeed a worthless station.
