This is huge news for me because I can barely turn on my computer let alone manipulate files and run hacks and crap. I can't believe I actually figured it out... Anyway, is it worth it to go through the trouble of putting an SNES emulator (or any others like GBA) on there too? I've read that there are major framerate issues that make most games unplayable.

The games I'm interested in are Super Mario All-Stars, Super Metroid, Actraiser, Uniracers, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, Street Fighter II, Gradius III, Mega Man 7, X, X2 and X3, Super Punch-Out!! and some others... is it even worth it to try? It took me about 2 hours to get the NES stuff running because I am bad at this stuff - I don't want to waste the time if it is going to suck...
can someone tell me or pm me with a website or something that tells me how to do this too?
This site tells you everything you need to know. They even post the split emu files so you hardly have to do any work:

www.pspupdates.com

Be sure to read the Ultimate Homebrew Guide first though:

The SNES emulators are still kind of slow but you can get them to almost full speed with some tweaking. I got Super Punch Out, Mario All Stars running at almost 100%. Games like Super Metriod and Mario RPG, still run very slow though. Genesis and Turbo Grafx are pretty much full speed. Neo Geo CD runs at 100%

yeah i got my emu at pspupdates.com and the nes one is awesome. the snes one is a but weak unless you tweak the settings. i've played earthworm jim and got it to run smoothly. i havent tested anything else out since snes games take up more room than nes games.

this reminds me..i was in some corner video game shop, and one of the clerks sold homebrow and NES roms 2 this idiot for $200!!! TWO HUNDRED FOR HOMEBREW!! AND THE GUY BOUGHT IT...
is it on a memory stick? other wise thats pretty messed up.
yeah, if it came on a 1GB card it's not that bad... but it's still bad...

i think it was on a 32 meg.., it def wasnt a 1 gig ...i felt like saying, u dumbass! u can get that for free on the internets!!..but :(..my dad always goes there 2 buy rare stuff (they got all the old consoles and buttloads of imports and stuff..and my dad likes 2 collect) ..so i had 2 keep my mouth shut :(...(my dad was there too)
how cool wud it have been! if i had a fake badge and pretended to bust him...but then wuda taken a nice video game bribe ;)!

somehow i HIGHLY doubt this, at least make it more belivable and say he offered it at 70 dollars or something, if you run a store, you're not gonna be stupid enough to sell illegal copyrighted materials (roms)

People are most definitely that stupid. There are tons of websites that sell roms on DVD and they aren't getting shut down anytime soon...

The SNES emulator runs decently. I put it on there and fired up megaman x and it was really choppy but i got to buggin around in the settings of it and the emulator automatically caps the psp at like 222mhz so i flipped it up to 333mhz and it runs like a champ. If it still runs a bit rough however you can make it do a framerate skip from anywhere to 1-10 fps. I dont think thats neccessary if you take the psp to the 333mhz though. Let me know if you need any help.

This was a PM of mine to 8ball but i figured i could help everyone out :D
How do you save progress?
It's built into the emulator - you can save anywhere at any time. It's great.

Yeah, I have NES running on mine also. Genesis one works ok....but a little slow. You have to overclock the PSP to 333MHz (or whatever the max is)

Now, finding ROMS is a bit difficult.....at least I thought so. I kept running into websites with pop-ups and now my PC is infected with SpyWare and crap and I've ran every program to remove them

Here are good settings to make the SNES one run almost perfect:

Frameskip-3
Graphic speed-1.4
Transparency- OFF!!!!!
CPU speed-266

It should run fine there but if you want to put your psp into 333mhz go ahead. ALot of people use 333 and it was said that it could mess uo your psp, no one has said there psp has been messed up by this but I use 266 jus in case.

Anyone got MAME running?

Also.... what the heck is turbo graphix? what kinda games does that run?

Holy shit I feel old all of a sudden.

UHHHH,.... Bloody Wolf, Bonk, Splatter House, Devil's Crush, ALien Crush, and a sheot load of others.

TG16 was a really competent system.
So if I have the file Nester, and I just put all the .nes files in it, i am ready to emulate?
You have to run the kxploit thing-a-ma-jig and the roms go in the NES folder or something. If I figured it out anyone can...

I never had to run any kxploit thing.

I unipped the zip file and found 2 folders. One w/out the % at the end, and one with. All I did was place the one w/out the % onto the memory stick first and then place the other one in after. (ordering matters as it places the "Corrupted" file at the bottom..... the corrupted file is not corrupted, don't delete it.... it's your roms...)

All roms were left zipped and were placed into the ROM folder inside the folder w/out the % symbol.

That's it. It runs like a charm.

I guess there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Sigh... c'mon man, at least get a basic knowlege of your classic stuff.
Just buy a DS and play the GBA classics on it.
And pay twenty bucks a pop?
Carry around carts?
Have a shitty selection?
Not be able to have like fifty with you?
On a shitty screeen?

Sounds like a great idea dumbass!

it's better to put zipped files instead of the actual rom. nesterj unzips it before it plays it. it also takes up less room. the snes one does the same as well.
