is the multiplayer still worthwhile on Gears? That is to say, you won't get immediately tossed out the room for not playing well during one round?

After hearing a play about how amazing Gears for Windows' community was going to be, I was a tad disappointed by how it infact is a huge pile of shit. I think I timed out for the sixth time in a row because I could not find a match a few weeks ago.
Thats a sweet oven.
 Roflcopter!

And yes, I am having mine made now so I can rock it for press week!
He has season tickets to the Super Bowl.
Of course. The Super Bowl is his favorite team.

I'm glad regular folks cant make achievements. That thread in the 360 forum and that Ninja Gaiden 2 achievement suggestion thread on some other website (that corrosive and/or wubb linked to) are just overflowing with fail.

Dude seriously.....if the fucking Lions would ever make the playoffs I would actually get paid to go to the superbowl every year.

Kick ass NFL films job that is wasted because I live in Michigan and our team sucks balls and cornbread.

DAMN YOU MATT MILLEN!
Its not capture the weapon, its like King of the Hill. The capture points are just placed on top of the weapon spawns though.

You have one fat ass cat, soowoo. :X
 Yeah, I know.
Super Bowl .. is that what TFN's barber calls it? Zing!

I wish I had a barber

Oh, snap!

What happened to Kitna's 10 win guarantee? It started out so well!

I'm glad I don't have to fuck with a barber. Half the people who cut hair here don't even speak english. :(

Shaving your own head FTW.

The funny thing about that is the collective  that all of the press gave when he announced it.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't, so I went to a barber somewhere in Edinburg, and sure enough, no English was spoken by the woman.
Except some "Good?" and "Ok."
If you can Ok as a word.
slow...

GoW multiplayer is weird. I was thrown into something that was like... capture the weapon?
You were playing annex and the capture the weapon is basically domination set around the key points on the map (which is where the weapons spawn).

VMWare Fusion + Mac OS X's Open Spaces = the fuckin' *jam*. No more booting up Windows separately to run data analyses. CTRL+down arrow = Win XP; CTRL+up arrow= Mac desktop.

Shazam.

I'm not about to speak highly on its gaming potential. FFXI runs like a dream when I boot into Windows (using Boot Camp), but I haven't tried it under Fusion. I did notice that there was a dialog box telling me the ATI drivers didn't load at Win XP's startup, but since this is only important for running SPSS (which runs as fast as it does on Windows solo boot), I'm uninterested. If I *really* need to game on this, I can close Fusion and use Boot Camp.

Any of the lightweight gaming would work on it, though the heavy stuff, that's likely to be on a desktop.

For the non-gaming stuff, and the need to run Windows, the MBP seems like the way to go for what I'd like to do.

Well no DUH!

A Cambridge University study has found that the more sex partners students have, the lower their grades, the Daily Mail reports.
The online study was published in the student magazine Varsity and compiled results based on more than 1,000 Cambridge University students’ answers.
It found that medical students were among those with the most sexual partners, on average eight, in contrast to mathematicians, who had the least, with almost half being virgins.
"It's obvious that the mathematicians haven't found the winning formula yet," said Mark Fletcher, Students Union president at Cambridge. "But it's good to see that Doctors and Nurses is still a popular game."

No doubt. The only thing I use Windows for is SPSS, since I had a nightmarish experience with their Mac port 6 years ago. I'm still reluctant to test the waters again; besides, I still have a license from the $200 student version (retail on SPSS is like fuckin' $1700) I bought a couple years back. That, plus Win XP for $8.50 on campus and Boot Camp = I'm not giving you SPSS fuckers $200 more, thankyouverymuch.

Shit. UPS shows it delivered two days ago. Nope, not here. Not under the mat, behind the bushes, or with a neighbor.

What the hell do I do now?

Ouch, thankyouverymuch.

I've been meaning to make the jump with the next machine I buy, though work uses Windows, so I need that and have that covered through my work laptop, plus Fusion/Parallels + Boot Camp, and all that I'm using now could be done on Mac OS X.

I normally wouldn't want a Mac, but even I'm slowly being swayed by that MacBook Air. That thing just looks awesome.
Status: Delivered
Location: Front Door
If it's not on your front door, then you're pretty much fucked.

UPS shows as it's delivered, so they're done with it. If it disappeared off your front porch, then that's an issue for you to deal with, unfortunately.

I'd contact Amazon.com and see what they're able to do. They normally give you one "shit, UPS delivered it and I can't find it" situation to get a replacement product.

I'd contact UPS as well and have them talk to the person who delivered it and see if they remember what they did with it.

Yeah I wouldn't be shocked if Amazon takes care of you.

Also look around on your neighbor's porches. After 2 days you'd think it would have been brought over, but maybe someone is away.

Anything I buy online goes here, if it's shipped via USPS as well.

I've had two minor issues recently.

One the package showed as delivered Saturday, but didn't notice that until Monday. I looked around it was sitting on my neighbor's porch. I don't think it was there all weekend, but it might have been.

Another showed as delivered the day before and I still didn't have it the next day. Poked around and the mailman had stuck it in our porch closet for some reason. He'd never done that before and this wasn't anything that looked particularly valuable (like a DELL box or whatever.)

So I'm returning something at the mall, Suncoast to be specific, and this girl I worked with at Abercrombie comes up and says ''Yo man! Long time no see, hows it going?'' It took me a while to remember who she was, as I usually remember people by things they did or a nickname of some sort, but I couldn't remember her name if my life depended on it. Anyways, I continued to talk to her and walk around the mall for a bit when it hit me...

I remembered this girl through a friend of mine who saw her put a beer bottle (full of beer, mind you) in her cooter in front of about 30 people. We used to call her ''Heineken'' behind her back in the stock room, and would giggle about the story from time to time when she would pass by. I was thinking to myself maybe I should ask her how it went, just to destroy conversation and continue on my way, but I didn't want to be mean. Well, she dropped the bomb on me and said ''AJ was the one who told you about the beer thing, right? I was way too drunk, but everyone is blowing it way out of proportion! There was no beer in the bottle and I didn't put the whole bottle in.''

Conversation ruined, and a bad taste in my mouth imagining seeing a girl I sort of knew do things you only see on the internet. :(

EDIT: I think I'm overboard with the 30 people, but it was a nice sized party and she spread out on the pool table for all to see.

Thankfully, it's a well covered porch area, so there's plenty of cover for anything that's there, plus, if it's small enough, they could stick it between the storm door and the front door.

Plus, I seem to have a good mail carrier that's pretty thorough about making sure I get my packages. I think she's learned enough with the times she's come out to my house and dropped off multiple packages on my front porch.

Hmp. I have god of war 2 and never played it.

My Ps2 is sitting literally 2 ft way and I never feel like hooking it back up to play it.

TFN worked at Abercrombie. So I assume you are a master at folding placket shirts?

(Actually I'm pretty sure I already knew that.)

Yeah overall my mailman is pretty good. He started new (I assume) a few years back and was terrible for the first few months. But he's grown into being pretty good. Although I did get some special notice a few months back asking me to report any mail that had been lost or misdirected so maybe he received an inordinate amount of complaints on that?

Soodmeg - I'm with you on that. I don't know if I'll ever play my PS2/Xbox/GC again after getting a 360. I should probably just dump them all on eBay.

Probably not -- the stories are just vehicles for the character to be cheesy/over-the-top. and you'd only be missing what happened between 3 and 4 (DMC) since 2 is supposed to be after 4.

The benefit of Fusion is that is uses an existing Boot Camp partition, whereas Parallels doesn't (it was also nice that Fusion was $40 on campus, and Parallels $80). W/ Fusion, then, you can dual-boot or boot separately.

What do you do that you use SPSS? Ya' hirin'? I'll be off fellowship in September. ;)

Client I work at does market research, and they get files sent/emailed out in SPSS format. They need it to open up and convert files into/from SPSS.

Australian Open.

Holy fuck shit, Djokovic beat Federer. I love it. If only Rafa didn't lose. But still, yes, he's out!

Afternoon OTT.

My friend's wife did the same thing the first night they met.

I try not to think about it, unless she pisses me off.

Then, I remember, "Bitch, I've seen a beer bottle in your pussy!"

I feel like Linkin Prime Jr. Just got my second HD DVD player. Grabbed Eastern Promises and Zodiac as my extra free movies. They didn't have any copies of Pan's. Now I need to order an extra HDMI cable for it.
