I hate halo 2. I usually don't get angry about game hype but I don't like FPS games and I swear if I hear one more thing about HALO 2 I am going to puke.

Sorry for the rant I just had to tell someone.

i was just playing halo now and while i think its a good game on a whole I'm not sure if i like FPS games either. I mean i have such a headache right now and i cannot get over the motion sickness. 20-30 minutes and you are done. where as i could play zelda or a 3rd person view game for hours

I heard a lot of people say this. I have 16 friends over for lan parties a lot and we play for 3-4 hrs straight and no one has ever had any problems. I'm not saying that it doesnt happen but Ive never met anyone with this problem and am just curious. What symptoms of motion sickness do you have?

That's weird. I picked up Goldeneye a little while ago and got a really bad headache after playing it for a little while.

I look forward to its release..I don't think it wil be the be all end of all video games...but it does look good to me

I have the same problem. I found out WAY back when with Wolfenstein 3D on the PC (1990ish). I downloaded and played the demo and felt kinda weird. I thought maybe I was just really grossed out by all the "blood" (was pretty bloody for the time). After playing a bunch of other FPS', I now know it's motion sickness.

OP, I'll pass on Halo 2 also. I'm not a big FPS fan/can't handle it. Some girl at FYE wanted me to come to their Halo 2 launch party. I told her that I didn't like Halo and she couldn't believe it! She asked me what exactly did I buy my XBox for? I told her KOTOR. Then she walked off.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark both make me feel a little dizzy after playing. No other games, first person or otherwise, does, though.

yeah, i mean i know it'll be good, but i could not possibly live up to the hype. i PO'd it and am really looking forward to playing, but for me the main draw is to be able to play online without using XBConnect's ghetto method.

Hell, they could've just re-released Halo 1 with some slight improvements + an online mode and i would've bought that...if it was like $20...

i get motion sickness a lot
feel like puking after playing the old fps such as doom and duke nukem 3d however i don't get motion sickness with halo
i get a little after playing timesplitters 2 for too long

i think its pressure on ur temples dissiness and just knowing that if u dont put the controler down u will feel worse. it basically ruins the game and gaming in general and makes u hate games for doing that to you. Goldeneye back in the day did it to me even worse than halo i would b sick all night from that game.

I think alot of people would have bought a re-released Halo with multiplayer for $50. And although I agree with you about XBC, it's better than nothing.

halo 2 is going to be awesome IF you are a big fps fan. i myself like fps games fair and this one i'll probably just steal from one of my buddies.

I've been playing marathon session os Vice city so that I could eventually justify buying San Andeas and recently discovered that do to an incredibly frustrating camera I am indeed getting motion sickness from it while running though the streets so I'll discribe what it feels like in detail for you:

It starts with stomach twinges or nausia, you might feel like you're having hunger pains or maybe gas maybe worse than this maybe less but it will always start in your gut. Next you may start getting slight headaches or an instinctual desire not to move around so much like there's presure on your eyes and a fast change of direction makes you flinch, maybe you'll find yourself trying to stare at the screen harder than normal (which probably is where the headache comes from) lastly you'll start feeling fatigued or exhausted like you want to lay down at this point you are officially Motion sick.

The only cure is taking medicines like Meclazine BEFORE you expose yourself to a motion sickness inducing experience. because afterwards all you can do is lay down and close your eyes for and hour, let the exhaustion and nausia pass and hope you arnt so far gone that you really need to throw up... avoid dairy products... trust me.

Usually this happens about 2 hours or so into GTA:VC for me, but easily 15 minutes to a half hour in Timesplitters, Doom, Rainbox Six or any other moderately high paced first person shooter which requires lots of quick movment and perspective changing. I've been able to last a good 3 hours on VC Metriod prine i can go about 2 and a half with lots of morphball use, but it gets me eventually.

Sounds like you shouldn't be playing some of those games.

halo is one of the lamest fps out there, and in anycase its way better on PC, long live keyboard and mouse!

when i get angry about the over hype of Halo 2, which in my opinion is going to be the same thing as the first one which isn't a bad thing, its just the same. then i think about how great games like Half life 2 is going to be. I honestly think that Half life 2 is going to be one of the most important games for the next year to year and a half. Now personally i haven't played it, but i've read the reviews and its shaping out to be a game that revolutionizes games and FPS's the way we look at them. I guess with Halo 2 i know what to expect, more of the same. Before you flame me, it's not a bad thing to be more of the same, but it's not going to push the boundries of gaming like HL2 clearly will.

Halo 2 is going to be the greatest game ever and it will take over the world and kill haters and cure diseases and will walk on water and find Osama Bin Laden and kill him and kill all that oppose it.....

The Girl Probably walked off cuz she thought you were the equivalent of a trekkie in star wars lingo.

my girl friend said she's getting sick of me talking about Halo 2.. she called it Gaylo.. (women are soo creative). After that comment..I am in search of a new girl friend...

I think you may be a little too dedicated

I can understand why people are so excited about HALO 2, but I really don't like playing FPSs on a controller. I like a speedpad and mouse, myself. I'll get it when it comes out for PC.
by starting this thread all that is going to happen is you hearing MORE about halo 2

gg :p
My thoughts exactly :D

I'm really excited about Halo 2 but I realize that not everyone likes FPS games. It's kind of like the way I feel about RPGs. I can't imagine what the appeal is.........
