I have to return a book to my school Libarary and I want to aviod paying late fees.

I borrowed a book from my schools libarary with a One dollar daily late fee. I had the book sometime for fifty days over return now and I am going to return the ook any pay the fee.

Is there anyway I could just walk in the libarary and put the book down somewhere and leave removing the ticket and leave.

Anyhow I am going to return the book soon. Thank you for giving me more options.

Shelve the book where it should be. Check out more books. If they tell you you owe them money say "what? No, I returned that months ago."

Yeah, what jmcc said.

A bit off topic, but the other day when I was cleaning my room I found this old book. It was a book about chess strategies borrowed from the New York Public Library. The thing was, the book was due in June...1974. I believe it was my uncle who rented the book.

I'm going to guess it wasn't a dictionary.

/just messin with ya

you typically won't get a late fee if thelate fee is more than the cost of the book. just explain you 'lost the book' and you can pay the cost of the book. then you can donate the book to that library or another library.
This Libarary is in my college and it is a behind the shelf book. The card is a sticker paper on the back of the book.
You're in college?

(Theory proven.)

shit....... i still have some of my old books from ES, MS, and HS. Now that I work at my old ES, think I should return it? its been 16 years.

I'd think you shouldn't be charged more than the cost of the book, but if it's some special behind counter only book then maybe it's actually valued at more than $50.

Also I think the advice you gave another CAG can serve you well in this situation - just keep your ground and don't move or be moved by them. IF they assault you then you can press charges.

Well, if it's a college book, just return it and pay the fine. They know you still have it and stuff like not letting you enroll for spring classes can happen if you have outstanding fees.

I want to know why the college has a dollar a day late fee!

Mine it's like a dime a day and I have turned things in a few weeks late and stuck them in the drop out box outside. Never hasd to pay.

Of course it helps because I'm the only ones that checks these books out anyways.

QFT, you might not be able to sign up for classes if you don't properly return the book.

It is a Libarary in the college itself. Not the Public Libarary ether. The book brand new is like 110 dollars. I thought I could save money and scan the book.
Then I forgot and just remember I have to return it seeing how they send me a delightlfull note telling me about the feee every now and again.

My local library lets you buy the book if your late fees go over the cost of the book. See if yours is the same way. You still have to pony up money but not as much.

The way I see it, there's two ways to do this: The easy way or the hard way.

1.) The Easy Way: You're going to need an all-black costume for this, a lot of rope, a folding grapel hook, and some throwing stars (just in case). Your local ninja shop should be able to hook you up, and possibly with a holiday shopping season discount. You'll also need a saw.

Okay, here's what you do. Wait till night, go up on the library roof and saw a hole through it. Use the rope and grapel hook to shimmy down into the library. Dart behind the counter and replace the book. If anyone sees you entering or leaving, don't be afraid to use your throwing stars on them.

Then follow through with jmcc's "but I returned that months ago" schtick the next day.

2.) The Hard Way: Pony up the cash for the late fee. Beg for mercy. Claim absentia. Tell them you were on hard drugs. Maybe they'll be nice and reduce it.

I think Regal should print out his posts and show them to the librarian.

I imagine they'll take pity and waive the fee.

You poor, poor son of a bitch.
Sir, I believe it's spelled "libararian."
My mistake. I should watch what I write and suggest to the OP. I rescind my initial suggestion and it's place I urge you to "just fuck her". Clear enough OP?

Put the book on the shelf and walk out there in a cardboard box. Hey, would you mind eating a snake? Just askin
