Update: I bought Gungriffon (450) and Knight's Apprentice (451) from Shrike. Thanks for the help Shrike.

Update: I bought Crash N Burn last night from Best Buy, so I upped my Xbox total to 425 games now. I'll update the pictures later.

To mark the momentous occation of my 400th Xbox game, I decided to finally find a copy of F1 2001. Well, after searching for quite a while, I found one in EB's system for $17.99 at an EB that I had never been to before. It's about time I added this game to my collection and the disc was in excellent condition so that was a plus.

Here's some photos of my Xbox games:
How many of the games have you played, let alone finished? :p
Played: all of them for at least 30 minutes except for some of the more recent releases that I haven't gotten around to

Finished: I'll have to go back through my list to see. I know at one point it was over 80, but that was quite some time ago. And it's hard to "finish" some of these sports games. I also don't finish too many racing games.

hot damn. 400!!! now that is a dedicated Xbox lover. I got to say congratulations to you sir. I wish my collection was even close but it's not.

Geeez, and I thought I was doing decent at 105 or so.. Though I do have F1, I think we were talking about how "rare" it was in that one thread.. I went back to my GameCrazy and noticed that they have two more copies of it.. dunno why.

According to IGN, you have 443 XBox games.. man, you have a ton.. you still don't have Need For Speed Underground 1, though :p

Oh, nevermind, you have 44 demos on there.. that would be the 400th game.. looks like you have the rare games covered (FF, Moto GP2, Marvel vs Capcom 2, F1).. all you need now is Fatal Frame 2 and The Guy Game..

What is "Knights of the Temple"? Looks pretty cool. How do you play it if it's an import and you have a US XBox?

Oh, one more question.. as a collector, do you care about whether or not they're Platinum Hits or have a variant or anything like that? Are all your games complete? One day, I shall surpass your 400..

Yeah, IGN has demos on there, so I go ahead and input those as well.

Knights of the Temple is a midevil 3D action hack-n-slash type game that was developed by the same guys who made Enclave and Chronicles of Riddick. It's a really enjoyable game and I have no idea why it never made it here to the States. I can play it because I have a modded Xbox. I also have my non-modded launch Xbox and a Halo LE Xbox.

As for the Platinum Hits question, I prefer my games not to be Platinum Hits. The only reason I have a few Platinum Hits is because those games were basically free for various reasons (rebates, gifts, etc.). The only variants that I'm really concerned with are the Limited Editions.

As for my games being complete, yes, every one of my Xbox games is complete with box and manual.

I couldn't think of 50, let alone 400, Xbox games that I'd want to own. If I have 25 Xbox games by the time the next generation rolls around, I'd be surprised.

how much have you spent total on 400 games? I guess I am just skeptical as to why people spend so much to collect electronic media like this.

I found this kinda funny cause I have 40+ Xbox games and I don't even have an Xbox. All of them were purchased very cheaply (alot of TRU clearence stuff).

Congrats shipwreck! I am approaching my 400th PS2 game.
do you ever, like, not play video games or post here? Do you have a job or go to school? how much have you spent total on 400 games? I guess I am just skeptical as to why people spend so much to collect electronic media like this.
Why do you care? You assume that just because he has a ton of games, he plays them all? Collecting is a hobby, some people collect DVD's, some collect games.

Ah, but Xbox usually has the best version of most multi-platform games (graphics and sound anyway), so you don't have to have 25 Xbox exclusive games to have 25 great games on Xbox.

WOW 400, I finally found someone with more Xbox games than me. I am at around 250 and still growing. I haven't updated my collection on IGN though for several months, might have to do that soon.

Seriously I am jealous. Man... I remember when I reached 200 total games, I was so complacent but you have 400 Xbox games alone. I am going to have to ask for some proof (I have no reason to doubt you really. I mainly want to see what a thousand games look like.) Do you stop and look at them, where do you keep 'em all? Where do you live? Hehe.... Hats off to you.

I agree. If a game is multi-console, I always get the Xbox version (unless the others have extras). I have alot of exclusive games for my GC and PS2. But, if it is the same game on all 3, why buy one with lesser graphics and/or sound? If you have an Xbox, take advantage of the extra power.

I'm up to 107 (though I've probably missed a few here and there) but I sell and trade them away after finishing so I probably currently own maybe 30.

Good luck on your quest to get every single Xbox game. (Assuming you're still pursuing that :) )

As for storage, all of my older generation stuff is currently in tubs for the time being while I wait for a better way of storing everything. I can probably take some new pictures of the Xbox stuff tonight, but here's some pictures from back in November sometime. (I can't view them from work, so hopefully this is the right link).

congratulations

i am working on the Digital Press future guide Xbox section currently

if you get a chance, you should head over to DP (if you dont already post there ... http://www.digitpress.com ) and check out the online rarity and if you see anything xbox that is missing, try and let us know (there is a specific collector's guide forum to report problems in)

Very impressive indeed.

Just wondering, do you have any rhyme or reason as to how all those games are organized (alphabetical, by category/genre) or do you just shelve them away.

A lot of people I know think I'm nuts for having 110 Xbox games, so I can imagine the comments you get.

Definitely alphabetical. It's a pain to have to reorganize when I buy a new game that starts with the letter "A" though. :)

Man I love my XBOX but theres only about 30 XBOX games worth playing

Wow I only have 64 xbox games. I would have about 100 but I started trading 3 crap games for a $10 AAA title at Game Rush a while back. I decided it was time to clean out all the worthless junk.

LOFL!!!

That would be a bee-yotch.

BTW, if you haven't already don't forget to pick up the survival/horror game Obscure. It's really good and, from what I've heard, kinda rare.

Must have Spikeout: Battle Street also if you're into the rare games.

Do you guys collect just to collect? Or do you collect because you really enjoy playing the games?

I originally started buying any cheap game I could get, but recently got rid of about 20 games that I knew I didn't really enjoy or wouldn't play ever. Now my library consists of a myriad of about 70 xbox, ps2, and GC games (mostly rpg's and party games).

I just can't afford to buy the games I know I'll love like Aterlier Iris and Stella while collecting older games/saving for trips.

That is pretty impressive, but only playing them for 30 minutes in most cases? Thats pretty rough, hard to say if a game is complete garbage or not with so little time.

i currently have about 785 video games for 40 consoles / portables / arcade cabinets

i buy most games just to collect them and not to play them
i recently (december) spent $150 on 1 Magnavox Odyssey 2 game (I have all 49 US release O^2 games, most which i will never play)

i see no point in trading games in, so that is something i have never done, and by not doing that my collection just keeps growing...i have about 10 games pending arrival in the mail right now, with more always on the way
do you have a running total of how much you've paid out of pocket...including trade credit.
For Xbox games I think I'm averaging about $12 out of pocket for each game. It's been steadily declining ever since GameRush entered my life.
I couldn't think of 50, let alone 400, Xbox games that I'd want to own. If I have 25 Xbox games by the time the next generation rolls around, I'd be surprised.
I agree.

I used to have about 50 Xbox games, and then the Xbox up and died on me... alot of the games I had I was never really impressed with to begin with, and the ones I really did love (like Metal Arms) I managed to pick up for ps2 for around 5 dollars, and then trade in the Xbox copy for 5-10, so I'd break even.

I don't care that much about a tiny difference in graphics between ps2 and xbox to spend 150 on another Xbox... maybe if they drop to 100 or lower sometime soon, just so I can play the 10-20 games I'm going to keep.

Plus, since I'm a PC gamer, well... alot of the xbox's best games get trumped yet again. Mechassault 1 and 2 < any Mechwarrior game, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, both Knights of the Republic games, are all better on PC... I even heard a rumor Bioware wants to port Jade Empire over to PC.

More power to you though. I've got about 800 games total in my collection, and finding space for all of them is hard lol.

I used to think this way too... but as a collector AND a gamer, I'd rather trade in games like Blinx, Mech Assault 1, and Timesplitters 2 (all these games literally rotted on the shelf... hadn't touched them in 2 years roughly) for something like Shin Megami Tensei: Digitial Devil Saga. Espically when Gamestop has deals like "Trade in 3 games for an extra 10 dollars credit", and all these games suddenly get a very heightened value.

I traded in six very average, very cheap games and managed 55 dollars in trade in credit, that's a good enough deal for me. Plus, as a collector, I'm fairly certain Digital Devil Saga will hold it's value alot better than Blinx.

in fact, the only system i beat you in is PS2, and possibly Genesis. btw, are those genesis games complete or cartridge only?
in fact, the only system i beat you in is PS2, and possibly Genesis. btw, are those genesis games complete or cartridge only?
That's only about 1/3 of my Genesis games. I still have two more boxes to go through and input on IGN. I'd say probably somewhere around 50% are complete.

Oh, and I now own 401 Xbox games. I just ordered Shikigami No Shiro Black Castle for $10.50 off of eBay!

That is a shitload of xbox games and I salute you sir. I thought I had a bunch with only 40-50. I noticed you only had Fever 2002 though. What's with that!? That's the best damn football game. Keep up the great collection.

You'll notice that most of the games I'm missing are sports and racing games. This is because they go down in value so quickly that I don't like to spend more than I'll need to on them. My current best method of building up my sports game collection is to throw a used one into every order I get at EBgames.com. That way I'm covering shipping and getting a cheap sports game to round out my collection.

I know what you mean. Fever 2004 is like $5 brand new if you see it in a store usually though.

That must be so strange to go into a store, look at the xbox rack and say "nope, got all of these." and walk away. weird.

Wow, that's amazing. Reason why I traded mine is was to get some cash for some new ones comin out.

Haha, you really don't know how many times that has happened. I've got a better selection than all the stores in my area! :)

Yeah, Shikigami is an import.

I posted some older pictures of my Xbox collection earlier from back in November. I'll see if I can't post some updated photos later tonight.
