I just bought my 450th Xbox game
Definitely alphabetical. It's a pain to have to reorganize when I buy a new game that starts with the letter "A" though. :)
haha, welcome to the world of video game retail industry hell.

awesome collection, congrats!

btw, to whomever thinks 30 mins with a game isn't enough~ multiply 400 by an average of a half hour playtime a piece is still like 200 hours of gaming!

My son wanted to list all the current gen games:

70 Xbox
66 PS2
34 GC

I'd have another 30 if I didn't farm some out to good EB tradein deals.

Still, I have far more than I can play . . .

400 is a pretty amazing number of Xbox games . . . I'd say about 70 are worth owning ;-)
Okay, I took some pictures. Now where's the best place to upload them?
*shrug* photobucket? yahoo/google are fine as well.

you've got a BIG library of Xbox games.. literally. Me getting jealous.

I only have about 35 Xbox games in all, and my rarest is probably Fatal Frame II: Director's Cut.

nice collection. I at one time thought about getting every US Dreamcast game but then gave up that idea once I ran out of room & owned every decent DC game. I got to about 90 DC games if you count imports.

I'm not sure how many Xbox games I have it's like 50 or more. I'm sure by the next gen it'll break 100.

Do you care if you get the Plat version of a game or does it have to be the green version ?

Also your collection must blow people's minds, my total game collection at about 300 games shocks people. Yours must make them think your nuts and spend money only on games.

I some times have a hard time convicing people that you can get games for under 10 bucks.

I don't really like to have a huge collection I just like to have games I enjoy playing, I love going to pawn shops (found MVC2 for 15, RE4 for 10, Eternal Darkness for 10).. so when i run into something cool i'll pick it up.. I think it is very impressive the people with huge collections like this it makes me envious.. but i know realistically i love to put time into the games i play (especially on live).. i find it hard now (i only own about 20 xbox games.. of which i only play about 6 a lot) to play all the games i get.. I try to at least "test drive" all the games i get. the Platinum/GH/PC games don't really bother me.. i like some of my games in a cool silver color it makes them look unique opposed to all uniform.

but.. great amass of xbox games. and i can say as a collector of sorts (i like to keep my games as in good of condition that i possibly can).. that you have the best set up for something like that. way to go..
Nice. What kind of shelving is that?
I forget the brand name (maybe Sauder?), but they can be bought at the Media Play family of stores. The ones shown are about $20 each.

I have about 10 GCN games and maybe 15 PS2 games.

But they are all excellent, so it balances out an I have about the same number of really good games as you.

I have GCN and PS2 games as well.

Are you rich?

Also I was marveling at your collection and I notice you have mostly Xbox games. Are you an Xbox fan? Or is it because it is the more powerful console. Anyway 1500 games.... man that is a lot.

Wow, I sure hope that you have at least several backup Xbox consoles (with non-Thompson drives), or are planning to buy an Xbox 360 and hope it has complete backward compatibility.

well it's already known that it's not completely backward compatible. but i'm sure he can afford another used xbox.

I have three Xbox's:

Thompson launch Xbox (never had a problem with it, it's still my main Xbox)
Halo LE Xbox
Modded Xbox with Samsung drive

Can I ask you what kind of job you have, therefore I can get into the same industry that so I can one day have atleast half of the collection you have.

How many Xbox games are there total?

I'm over 100 Xbox games bought, but I've sold about 80% of them. I don't think I'll get to 200 bought total. Might hit 150 though.

Wow. Nice. I just hit.. 115, I think. And i'm unemployed.. so once I get a job (and pay back past debts), hopefully I can raise that number.

well it's already known that it's not completely backward compatible. but i'm sure he can afford another used xbox.

Wrong, it's already known that it's completely backwards compatible.. it'll just take time. What is going to happen is they're going to release updates to the XBox emulation software on the 360 via XBox Live.. and eventually, all games will be BC.. and of course, they're starting out with the most popular ones.. then working their way down.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that it will be completely backward compatible. It's emulation not hardware. They will not fix some of the older games to work on 360.

wow, quite a collection!!! If only bills, home, wife, dogs, pool, yard, etc werent holding me back... just kidding

The only systems in which I have more games are the NES, SNES, and TG16... I though my 80 something XB games were a nice collection... well they are to me :)

There are currently 636 Xbox games released in North America. I'm slowly getting to my goal of owning them all.

there is not nearly enough xbox games this generation to be "worth it" for me to start that goal.. my collection is around 20 but they are all amazing games.. i don't buy a lot of games i just buy the "quality" games.. but congrats.. (EDIT: if you put up a list of the titles you are missing.. i'm sure some of us will help you out)

Shipwreck, what were some of the hardest Xbox games for you to find? I collect Xbox as well (got about 100 titles right now) and would like to get my hands on some of the rarer titles now before they get harder to find.

Battle Engine Aquila was the toughest one for me to find so far. Finally found a copy at EB last week for $8 though after about a year of searching. It's a great game too!
Update: I bought Crash N Burn last night from Best Buy, so I upped my Xbox total to 425 games now. I'll update the pictures later.

To mark the momentous occation of my 400th Xbox game, I decided to finally find a copy of F1 2001. Well, after searching for quite a while, I found one in EB's system for $17.99 at an EB that I had never been to before. It's about time I added this game to my collection and the disc was in excellent condition so that was a plus.

Here's some photos of my Xbox games:

You are going to be mad when 360 comes out and it's not backward compatible

Congrats again shipwreck! That's a nice cheapass accomplishment. You may have answered this already, but do you have any idea what your average game cost has been?
You are going to be mad when 360 comes out and it's not backward compatible
Yeah, because then he'll have absolutely no way of playing his old Xbox games anymore.

The guy said he's got 3 Xbox systems right now. Why should he care if the 360 is backwards compatible or not?
Well, here are the ones I don't have. . .
I guess it all depends on your tastes. There are quite a few games you list here that I think are great titles despite less than ideal review scores. If you're willing to overlook a few flaws, any number of so-called "average" games can provide you with many hours of fun, and I'm certainly not above buying a fun but merely average game for my collection.

That's a very nice collection--I've got more PS2 and Cube games, but nowhere close on Xbox stuff (mainly cause it's the one system I don't really collect games for)....

Average game price is approximately $11 now. It's steadily been going down since GameRush came to town. Keep in mind: that includes Steel Battalion in that average and several launch games that I paid $50 for.

As far as games I had a hard time finding:

F1 2001 (I don't think any Xbox game is harder to find than this)

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis (This was hard to find when I bought it, about 2 months later though a warehouse of these was released as a $14.99 bargain title. This is extremely easy to find now.)

The rest of these can sometimes be difficult to find, but can be found with some searching:

Auto Modellista
Battle Engine Aquila (I know a GR that has this, I should probably finally pick this up)
Black Stone: Magic & Steel
Frogger Beyond
Loons: The Fight For Fame (I need to grab this sometime as well)
NBA Starting Five
Roller Coaster Tycoon

I'm probably forgetting a lot of others, but I have a hard time determining what is rare because I've been picking games up since the Xbox launch, so I haven't really been looking for a lot of these games for a long time.

So shipwreck, do you spend all your money on games?-How much do you get paid (daily/weekly/ect). Also, how much time do you spend playing xbox each day? Really awesome collection
Not bad at all. I used ot keep track of how much I spent on everything and my average was around $13. But when I moved I kinda lost track of that and now I have no idea what my average cost is. I imagine it's about the same cause I buy most of my games at $20 or below. The occasional $50 is spent on an Atlus game, although I did get Nocturne for $33 during the TRU B2G1 sale.
So shipwreck, do you spend all your money on games?-How much do you get paid (daily/weekly/ect). Also, how much time do you spend playing xbox each day? Really awesome collection
I'd rather not say what I get paid, but I definitely don't spend all my money on games. I'd say I spend half my money on games and half my money on GI Joes. :)

As far as playing time, my wife usually works 2 or 3 nights a week, so I'll play for 2-4 hours on those nights. On other days, I might play for an hour or so, unless my wife and I are playing something together, then it might go up to 2-3 hours. I've actually been playing Alundra for PS1 for the past couple of weeks though so I haven't played much Xbox.
Do you still have 50,000+ blocks left on your HDD?
Haha, yes, I think it is impossible to have less than 50,000+ blocks unless you put a lot of music on your hard drive. I only have probably around 25 songs stored on there, so I still have all kinds of room for saves.

nice collection....i have just about every xbox game that i want with the exception of maybe 15 that i'm waiting for pricedrops on....though i could easily buy 100 more depending on how many more $4.99/$1.99 clearances i come across

Much more than that, actually. Last I bothered to check (which was close to a year ago), there were at least 700 PS2 games available.
