OK, I was out at GameStop today. I looked in their PSOne bin, and I made out "Suikoden II." I paused for a second, grabbed it, and exclaimed to my cousin that I had found it. I looked at the price tag. "$59.99" My cousin was lucky enough to find his own copy of it...he only paid $39.99 just about 6 months ago. The catch? Mine is complete. Mint condition. I just dropped $60 on a PSOne game. I don't care how rare it is...that's a lot, especially since I'm a cheap ass now.

Should I eBay this? How much should I expect to get? I mean this is really rare and something I might not get a chance to come across anytime soon...or at least not for this "cheap." Do I eBay it or keep it for my collection so I can brag about how rare of a gem I have!?

Suikoden II complete! What do I do!?

So you think I'll get over $100? I see one in the UK that's going for the US equivalent of like $150 right now...Is that common, or is it just because it's in the UK and the PAL version is even more rare?

Why dont you just play it and stop being so damn greedy. If you dont want to play it you should have left it at the store so someone who will could pick it up.
Why dont you just play it and stop being so damn greedy. If you dont want to play it you should have left it at the store so someone who will could pick it up.
Because I don't feel guilty about doing it.

Now, going out and buying every $5 game at the CC sale and selling those is being greedy.

But hey, it's fine if you object to what I'm doing. That's your opinion.

Dude - sweet pick-up.
My first instinct would be to rip it open - the question is how much less its worth after you break the seal.
Anyone have any idea?

Around $100 to $120 is generally the going rate. Don't pay attention the the UK. They're crazy over there. I have frequently seen old snes games go for $50 (US Equivalent) one day, and $10 a few weeks later. I was looking at trying to sell some stuff over there but they are completely unpredictable.

By the way, if you need the money - sell it. If not, what can it hurt? Of course, you're taking advice from someone who held onto complete Chrono Trigger, FF2, FF3, Xenogears, Symphony of the Night, Skies of Arcadia, and many others hoping they would never re-release them and look what happened to all of those.

Remember, this isn't new. It's used, but still complete.

I am saving up for a computer. I don't know what I should do...I mean, it's be nice to get $50 for doing nothing, really, but...will I regret selling it since I do collect games?
Eh, from what I have heard, it isn't a fantastic game. I'd sell it...
I would say it IS a fantastic game. One of my favorites, and definitely worth $60. I would keep it.

First thing I would do is make sure the game
loads up and can be played.
If not return it.......
Once you have done that.
And since you need money, ebay it
at the same time you are playing it.

If you like it alot. You can just cancel
the bids & keep it.

If you keep it, you're a lucky SOB and I'm jealous.

If you ebay it, I hate you.

My copy is out there somewhere, and if someone that didn't give a crap about it bought it ahead of me, I'd be pissed. Is it your right? Sure, but it's still a very lame thing to do.

Keep it. It's one of the best RPGs of all time.

I'd hold onto it for awhile. It sounds like your not certain if you'll miss it or not if you sell it. The value aint gonna go down it's been the same for a year or so. Hang onto it, think it over and then decide what to do after it's been on your shelf for awhile. Hell, it is a game, you may even want to play it a little to help make your decesion.
Why dont you just play it and stop being so damn greedy. If you dont want to play it you should have left it at the store so someone who will could pick it up.
how about you not be a dick? How's that sound?

anyhoo, my 2 cents: pop it in, play it, and if you don't like it then you have a choice to make. You could keep it for the possible future value, sell it to a fellow CAG for, say, $70, or you could ebay it and get about $100. That is indeed a tough call....

Oh there is another option, you could sell off the case and keep the game. If you could sell the case for $40 you would have only paid $20 for the disk. Just a thought in case you like the game but hate the fact that it cost you $60.

This of course is comming from the man who traded his case for a complete Valkyrie Profile.

It's pretty easy to just do a search of completed auctions on eBay yourself. That should give you a great idea of what you'll get.

How do you do that? I checked the advanced search and saw no option for closed auctions.

Yes, you will eventually regret it if you sell.

It's not that big of a deal I've come across 4 Suikoden II's in my travel's (2 complete/mint and 2 copies of just the disc in a slim jewel case).

I sold the 2 copies of just the disc in jewel cases for $74.99 each and I sold my first mint copy for $109.99 and the second one that I got I sold for $119.99. I hope that helps you with your pricing! :)

I also sold my 2 copies of Gitaroo Man for $89.99 each and my copy of Rez for $89.99 as well. However, now I don't have any damn games left, looks like it's time to go game hunting! :)

Well, I think I'll just end up keeping it. Sounds like it's just a suberb game.

Also, I only paid $57 (after the 10% off). That's like $4 more than what I would've paid new if I got this 5 years ago. Besides, like I said -- I do collect games... Maybe down the road I'll end up selling it, but for the time being, I'm going to keep it and cherish it. ^_^

Wow you are a total shwag... Chances are you dont even have a copy of Suikoden 2 and htis is all bullshit.

Digital Press gave this a rarity rating of 4...Explain to me why it goes for so much, again?
Because people want it, if you look at the rarity Suikoden 1 is actually more rare.

Key word is heard, if you played it you would be able to make a good assessment on it...
So my complete suikoden I and II are worth a lot? heh... I picked them up for like $20 total.
Awesome find bro, now theres someone who deserves praise. lol

Heh... My first game I got for my ps1 was Suikoden II, Target had like 15 copys on clearance so I got it for about $13, then when I was 15 I was at some crap hole mall with my uncle and we went to a gamestop. They had Suikoden I there for 6.99. I liked the second so I bought the first. I have both with cases and manuals and mint disks. :D
If you keep it, you're a lucky SOB and I'm jealous.

It should be the other way around. Selling it means that the copy is back in circulation and somebody else gets to enjoy it.

Anyway, OP: play it, then sell it - unless you decide you like it so much you can't part with it.

Uh, OK, and why exactly are you saying this? What am I getting out of making this topic then? This isn't the auction thread. If I set up an eBay auction for it, I don't plan on giving the URL out here, anyway. (Or didn't, at least.) I do have a copy. Whatever. Don't believe me if you don't want.

And guys, thanks for the help.

However, I hadn't even opened the game yesterday. (They had like 4 stickers on the case...I'm guessing it was so somebody didn't open up the case and run out with the instructions or something?) Anyway, there is kind of a problem...looks like someone found this at a video store, kept it, nd claimed to have lost it. The back of the instruction manual has a barcode sticker on it that looks like it belonged to a video store. The disk itself also has a video store's sticker on it. I'm guessing this drops the value of it...but how significantly?

Crap loads, and someone didn't steal it. The store sold it after the rental period ended and didn't bother to remove the sticker because its difficult to do. Anyhow the game value is a lot less since a large part of the value comes from completeness.

If you do decide to sell it on ebay don't use a picture and don't mention it's an ex-rental.
If I bought this on eBay and it showed up an ex-rental, there would be no end to my wrath. DO NOT pull that shit.
Yea - If i pay more than 20$ for a used game it better not be some POS ex-rental somebody is passing off as from their "personal collection"
But as long as its in good shape - just be honest and it shouldn't hurt you more than 10$ - 15$ plus you don't have to deal with an angry customer and all that bad karma.

HAHAAH PIMPSLAPPED!!! THAT JUST MADE MY NIGHT!!

That's weird, EB/GS never bought my ex-rental games.

My mother owns properties and collects rent. One place didn't pay, and they had to move out ... about a week later there were about 15 games sitting in the drop box, so my mom just gave them all to me. When I went to sell, EB and GS (might have been Software Etc. at the time) wouldn't buy them because they all had stickers on them that said "Video Joe."

Anyway, I'd keep it. The value MIGHT go down on eBay, because a lot of buyers would rather not have the sticker, and copies without that sticker are readily available on eBay, albeit really expensive. I'd say you could probably get about the same here as you do on eBay, because of the sticker..

Um, I don't understand? How does having a sticker on it not make it complete? Or are you saying that the stickers aren't really that big of a deal, since I still have the case and manual?

The instruction also has a barcode sticker on the back side of it. I'm wondering if there's a way to remove this...obviously I'm going to do a lot of research into it before I risk ruining something that's so valuable.

I'd say peel them off if it wasnt such an old game...

I've taken the stickers off movies Ive bought from renters. Yet, with how long thats been on it and for how old it is... you might pull the film off the plastic... You could try to losten it with steam... but if you get it too hot you could warp the disk.
If I bought this on eBay and it showed up an ex-rental, there would be no end to my wrath. DO NOT pull that shit.
i agree. if you're going to list it in an auction, you should post that it has rental stickers on it just to be safe. if not, you'll make somebody angry and it might result in a negative or they might do a chargeback through their credit card (and the list goes on and on). be as open and honest as possible so that you'll have less trouble in the future.

Well its complete but its been marked, which decreases its value. You can remove the sticker from the disk with goo-gone I think but the sticker on the manual will be very hard to remove.

I was one of those lucky SOB who bought it two years after it came out, for $15 bucks.

I was tempted to sell it for 80+ many times, but I decided to keep it, simply because the price is still going up...
