Your ISP is probably filtering your MAC address.
WARNING: KIND OF TECHNICAL EXPLANATION AHEAD
Your MAC address is the physical address of the network card. Most ISPs set it up so only one can be used at a time, and it can take up to 4 hours to clear. However, it is easy to "spoof" the MAC address so the ISP thinks you're connecting with the same network card.
Before we can do this though, questions must be asked and answers must be given.
Do you have DSL or Cable?
Do you connect your computer directly to the modem or through a router?
Do you connect your Xbox directly to the modem or through a router?
What Operating System are you using on your computer?
Answer these questions and I'll be able to help you.

have you tried doing a power reset for your modem and/or router? Try unplugging them both, then plug the modem back in, wait till all the lights are lit, then plug in your router if you have one. Once it lighs up turn on your Xbox. Sometimes this can clear it up.

yes when i call xbox thats all they tell me to do and i called 5 times

Ok, the problem is that your ISP is filtering MAC addresses. (Best guess.)
Follow these directions:
1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Type ipconfig/all.
Note If ipconfig/all does not work, you can also type winipcfg.
3. Your computer's MAC Address is listed under Physical Address. Enter this information into the Xbox console.
Note Do not use any address that begins with 44.
4. Turn off the Xbox console, and then turn it back on.
5. On the Connect Status screen, select Settings, and then press the A button.
6. Select Advanced, and then press the A button.
7. Select MAC Address.
8. Enter the information under Physical Address. You do not have to include dashes.

hey i'm havin a problem with my xbox live conection for some reason my cables are connected and my ip setting in configured but then it tells me that my dns is not resolved and my xbox live is not found .....i have no clue wut to do and i really need help on trying to fix this problem so if u have any idea why this might be happening please help me out thank u very much
Cpl. things on DNS: You don't per-se HAVE TO use the DNS settings of your ISP (though in theory they are your closest 'hop' and thus quicker)... You should try using 4.2.2.1 it's a public DNS server you can use.
Also a consideration: if you have any type of router (WiFi perhaps) in btwn. your console & your Router - then you can either either designate your router to facilitate DNS (it fwd's it). -OR- you can set the DNS as above. In other words: Your xbox DNS config would use either something like 192.1.1.x

Fixing the MAC address problem is what fixed the DNS not resolved for me. I have no idea what to do if you haven't done that.
