I need some file help.

Darke Katt

CAGiversary!
Alright, here's the thing. I downloaded this PSP called Azureus because I kept hearing how much better torrents were at downloading stuff, so I thought I'd try it, and went about downloading the 3rd Inuyasha Movie. It takes a couple of weeks, but I finally download it. It comes with all this software I gotta download to get the thing to even play, so I download it, no problem. But here's the kicker. When I finally got it to play, the picture came out UPSIDE DOWN AND MIRRORED. I tried everything, and have no idea how to fix this. Can someone help me? The file extension of the movie is .mkv, the player downloaded from something called Matroska.

Buy the DVD and you should have no problems viewing it.

Or try this.....

(if this should not be here delete or let me know so I can edit it.)

What causes this problem?

Windows platform media players typically use a system known as DirectShow to decode video files. As part of this system special filters can be installed, in order to handle additional video formats or add effects during decoding, for example. Unfortunately some filters can have undesired effects, such as inverting the video or commandeering DivX decoding from the genuine DivX decoder.

Upside down or mirrored video is commonly caused by these filters:

Bicubic resize filter
Filename: bicubic_resizer.ax
Installed as part of many codec packs, this filter is perhaps most responsible for inverted video.

G400 filter
Filename: divxg400.ax
Also installed as part of many codec packs, this filter can also invert the video.

XviD filter
Filename: xvid.ax
Again, installed as part of many codec packs, the XviD filter can decode DivX video as inverted.

How can I correct this problem?

To correct this problem, you can either uninstall these codecs using the setup program of the codec packs you have installed (if they allow this), or you can manually unregister the offending filters.

To determine which filters are affecting your system, please see this article.

To manually unregister the filters perform these steps:

Choose Run from the Start menu and enter:

command
then click OK

In the command window that opens enter:

cd \windows\system32
and press enter.

For each file you wish to unregister enter:
regsvr32 /u
For example, to unregister the Bicubic Resize filter enter:
regsvr32 /u bicubic_resizer.ax

The BigFix pack includes options that remove troublesome DirectShow filters automatically (See "Typical" fix list).

This happened when I downloaded the Samurai X movies. I think what I had to do was completely clear out every single codec I'd downloaded and reinstall them all in the correct order. They were a different type of file (Ogg Vorbis or something to that effect), but it was the exact same problem. I'll see if I can find the website that helped me fix the problem.

Katt you look like you're very pretty and that picture is doing you a disservice. I don't know why photographers always want people to put their heads at weird angles, but it sometimes looks a bit odd. Do you have any other pics?

Uh...huh. Did you have to put that in this thread? You could have just PMed me. Other pics are in the gallery. I dont have any others scanned. But thanks for the flattery. :3

Ugh, two weeks for a download of a movie?

Just... ugh.

UGH.

I don't like torrents because they're always slow for me. Next time, try a P2P prog that uses Gnutella or something.
Just turn your moniter upside down.

It's also mirrored, so she'd need a mirror too.
Hehehe, that's also what I was going to do at first, but then hubby said the same thing about the mirror. XD

Don't worry anymore though, I got it fixed and enjoyed my movie. Thanks again, Supernothing.

Another idea for anybody with this problem, with an ATI card, you can use the display control panel option to invert the screen to watch it, I just noticed that.
