Take a retail or foodservice job for now to pay the bills and set aside any extra money for future circumstances since it seems you have a temper problem at the workplace. Once you're more secure, figure out a specific trade to go in.

This is not about the OP, but just a general statement:

I don't know what happened to society. If someone doesn't have any money they make excuses for an easy way out. Women start stripping or start whoring on craigslist like that is the only way to make money.

What is wrong with working at a fast food place? You don't need to be a lifer. If a legitimately retarded person and Mexicans who literally do not speak English can work there, why can't you?

We talk about this a lot, and it's because society is so fucking entitled nowadays. The constitution says that you have the right to pursue happiness. People today think it says you have the right to happiness. People want everything for nothing. Which is why the OP thinks that it's a legitimate idea to play video games for a living.

Granted, I did know real play testers (none of them said it was fun). What op wanted to do was to win tournaments and be a pro gamer that way. Maybe in S. Korea, playing Starcraft...
 
I did actually play video games for a living for 2.5 years. It's not fun, it pays like shit and it actually takes some degree of intelligence or you get shit right out of the system. Stupid high turnover rate.

Starcraft money's better in the US now, actually. It's just that it's only South Koreans and a couple Europeans winning it.

Here's another one saying that it's not. Especially went it's a multi-platform, multi-sports title company. 2008 was a lost year for me, man.
 
Don't worry, I'm pretty sure the OP was that Korean kid playing SF4 last night at the So Cal Regional. He has AMD and a whole bunch of other sponsors so he has nothing to worry about now.
