Basically, all the nerd stuff I like -- games, anime, computers, HT shit... I get to mess around with that shit tomorrow. So yeah.
NES version has the better music though. I love the jungle track :)

I got a free copy of Virtual Fighters 4: the Evolution today, whoo whoo
I don't remember the Metal Gear NES soundtrack, but the MSX one is pretty good. In fact I have a remixed CD of all the Metal Gear tracks on a promotional disk around when MGS for the PS1 came out. I gotta look around for it now. A good mix between techno and 8-Bit beats.

I just got my replacment Guitar for Rockband. My down srum was a little screwy. That was pretty quick. I called for the replacment on Saturday. I may see you guys on later, but for now I'm gonna take a little nap. I should be on around 9 PM, so look for me.

You have welcomed new GGT into your heart!

i.e. played some persona 3 this afternoon. the background music at school has much more going on in it than I could hear before without my headphones. also, I'm convinced that the "rapper" in some of the songs is actually a Japanese guy, but with some kind of "black guy" filter put over his voice

I know, I really want to see who does the rapping. I wonder if there's a video somewhere on the internet of the guy.

Yeah, there's a lot more to ... most RPG music than you can hear on TV speakers. I was fuckin' shocked by FFX's soundtrack when I tried it on my setup in May. I already loved the soundtrack, but holy shit did it make a difference.

And yeah, Persona 3's vocals have to be done by a Japanese guy. There's no way any black person would threaten to "put you in a tranccee--uuhhhh!" and then "say hey hey hey" and then do something with a "burning desire."

the way it sounds, all exaggerated, makes it sound like a studio trick. I think they just got orange range and clicked the "black dude" button in Pro Tools...

 the japanese interpretation of american culture...always a blast!

Ahhh, back to a GGT with a real title. And ironically enough, we already have a discussion about fake rapping in JRPGs and Japanese interpretations of black people in American culture. Leave it to Chac...
Ahhh, back to a GGT with a real title.
For Rei's sake, my title wasn't that bad >.> I thought it was kind of funny reversing the last one...

I might be up for more rock band later, I just feel like taking a brake at the moment, I kinda want to play some mass erect.

I'll probably be playing Assassin's Creed. So if anyone wants to play Rock Band, just invite me.

I need to take a break myself though. The bassline in that QotSA song kills me. It's just a constant string of notes.

Too much pressure in making the new GGT title which is why I've only made one
I leave the thread making to the creative cags, this cag is about as creative as a dead whore.
Sounds pretty creative to me.

I've given up trying to level this stupid Recruit in Sacred Stones... I'm officially annoyed with these trainee classes they throw in there. Twice I've managed to strategize my way through the hardest part of Chapter 11, only to have one screw up while trying to get the shitty Recruit some exp and have her get cut up.

So I stopped by my local favorite shoppe after physical therapy (ouch) and got a used Assassin's creed. $40- $40 Bioshock trade in. Good stuff, about to try it out.

Ack, sorry Rei. Wasn't trying to belittle your efforts. Was just trying to say (with some failure) that every time Chac makes a title, some...uh...interesting discussion somehow erupts. :)

At 56 stars in Mario 64.

This is about the point I quit before, maybe slightly further. Snowman's Land, Tall Tall Mountain, Wet-Dry World....

They just aren't the same as Bob-Omb Battlefield, Whomp's Fortress, Lethal Lava Land, Shifting Sand Land, Hazy Maze Cave....

I'm gonna try to persevere this time though (although I do have an unplayed Zack & Wiki sitting right in front of me, waiting to be played)

So my friend just gave me these old speakers he didnt want, I must say they are pretty awesome.

I moved my other speakers to the back.

I now have 2 floor speakers as rear surrounds.

Shit is loud as hell.

They are acoustic research. Kinda old but they get the job done.

Ive got an onkyo 605 and the thing auto calibrates.

Yes only problem is that one of the AR might have a blown voice coil.
Everytime the thing tried to hit highs it gets the crackling noise.
Any Idea?

Currently annoyed with this Bowser Level in Mario Galaxy (Dark Matter Plant). Decided rather than throw my controller through the TV, I would take a break from playing.

I picked up Assassin's Creed last night. Hopefully I'll get to play that tonight before I leave town for a couple days.
how can I tell?
Uhm, the thing above the big woofer part of the speaker... is it like... torn or cracked or some shit?

Yeah I was playing Mario last night and kept falling at one point. I eventually beat it but not before my blood preasure went on the raise.

Damn, I want an Onkyo 605.

Currently putzing a Sony DE-915 w/DA splitter. It works, but having HDMI switching would be a lot better.

Of course, I would have to upgrade all the speakers if I change my receiver as they aren't great either. Oh well, next year's project, maybe.

I am very good at setting up home theaters. I've set up several in the last year and I'm the only person at my school who knows what a speaker is and what they do.

hmm because I now have this front speaker doing the same thing that the other one was doing in the same spot.

I wonder if it has something to do with that spot?

Gettin' some sort of interference? My solution is to move the speaker to a spot where it doesn't do anything bad.

...oh, not a good enough solution? Well... I dunno what the issue is then. I'm guessing that your speakers aren't shielded (you said they were older, right?) so maybe they're getting interference from the TV or something else that's magnetic.

Yeah they arent shielded. They are alot older. It could be getting interference from my crt(its hd).

Hmmm.
Ive got my tv cornered and so my home theater is alittle awkward.

Should I uncorner it?

I'm not sure that that'll fix it. I think the issue is simply that your speakers are too close to the TV and thus, are receiving interference. Now, if you can un-getto your HT and get more space between the speakers and the TV by moving that shit outta the corner... yeah, do it. That should definitely work.

Btw, why are you using floorstanding speakers in the back? Don't you know that's how the Mexican's roll?

I do need to un-ghetto this place. Im not quite sure what the best way to do that would be.

I shall try and have before and after pictures.

I will get rid of the floorstanding in the back. I shall go back to the small pioneers I was using.

I'm not gay, but I do know a thing or two about interior design. If you decide to unghetto the room, I know where you should be putting your sub and all that and where shit should go to keep the room organized.

I got bored with assassin's creed shortly after jumping off a cliff into a haystack, so I went back to Mass Effect. AC seems okay.. I just kept thinking about mass effect the whole time.

As for speakers, I have a strange issue with my cheap altec lansings I got a few months back. They have 5 speakers but it's not real 5.1. Anyway in Gears of War and Only in gears of war, i get his strange crackle/pop noise (maybe with a snap too) whenever I pause or leave the pause screen, or restart after dying, and it's only through the rear speakers. Lowering their volume doesn't do anything. Any ideas?
