hmm... well, same deal, it seems. I just hope I'm not overestimating the dimensions of the room. Should be fine with some minor shifting here and there.

I think this is an ideal layout. You keep shit out of the middle of the room so you have some room to walk around and there's more space for those crazy Rock Band instruments. Glare is taken care of on the TV, yet the window above the TV won't be blocked off completely. And if you keep that damn center speaker far away enough, you shouldn't have any issues with interference. Now, if you can shift the couch far enough towards the door, you should have more than enough space to keep the game shelves quite accessible. On a more cosmetic note, clean that shit up. Seriously, half the shit on your walls, you shouldn't have. It's fine to have some of that stuff, but too much makes it overwhelming and it's just garish. It's going to cock block you at every turn. Sexual objects (occasionally referred to as "women") dig clean, organized shit for whatever reason... so take care of that.

Anyway, if you do all that shit, you should find the room a lot more livable and practical.

I shall get to work on moving all this shit tommrow. Its gonna be nice having room for shit everyonce inawhile.

I also might get rid of this 7.1 creative speaker set and just use some nice headphones for my computer.

Right now ive got a pretty decent pair of audio-technicas(that I finally found) extra awesome bonus...they look like what the kid from persona 3 had. Lemme find a picture somewhere.
 
hey,I got an audio question.I bought a Sony Home theater thing that was on sale on Black Friday.Why do only 2 speakers work when looking at sattelite but when I watch movies,it sounds really really good and you can hear from all 5 speakers?Thanks but I am no audiophile or anything like that.Hope you can help.

Simple your directv box is plugged in using an rca jack and your dvd player is integratedinto you home theater, and thus can make 5.1

Played like 5 straight hours of Rock Band tonight with my friends. Great time.

Anyone from the GGT frequent any other gaming forums. I'm starting to consider looking into nerdy alternatives to CAG.

The receiver is probably set to autodetect what kind of signal the source is sending. Since most DVDs are in 5.1, you're getting all 5 speakers working. Satellite is general going to be stereo (and i'm assuming it's hooked up with red and white audio cables), so that's why it's only coming out of two speakers. There should be options on the receiver like Dolby Pro Logic II. Select that when you're watching TV and see if it works... though honestly, stereo sources sound better in stereo with 2 speakers than spread out across 5 speakers.

You have it on auto detect. That's how my Sony receiver is. You have to put it in Pro Logic II. Mine has PLII movie and music, and DTS Neo:6. Music spreads the center channel out to the front speakers as opposed to Movie.

I know NEO GEF is a highly respected forum. I don't use it but I know some people and CAGers who do.

I feel the opposite, CAG really needs to put the foot down. It's been on a downward spiral since late 05 and it's nice to see the mods dealing with key issues.

No offense to anyone, but I could care less if you think otherwise.
 
oh ok,I changed it to pro logic II and it seems like it comes out of all speakers but damn,it sounds better with just the two speakers.Thanks guys.Also,what do all those stuff mean?It had bunch of options but what do they actually mean?Thanks guys,that was a quick responce.

Zipzoomfly just shipped my mobo and processor on the 28th... so they won't be here till Friday. Guess I'll just set up the HT in the basement tomorrow then. It's sorta like 2 birthdays. Guess that works.
 
I mainly visit CAG. I've been lurking here for a while. Didn't really post until recently. This is my 406th post and I joined 09-24-2003. I visit NeoGAF, but I'm not registered there. Also, shoryuken.com for fighting games; not registered there either. Don't forget gamefaqs, everyone's favorite place ;).

neogaf and I do pop into game specific boards at gamefaqs every once in a while, to see if there's any recent news on an upcoming game (or for a faq, of course.)

I'm slowly switching over to neogaf as my main site (I like how seriously nerdy the place is.) It is ban heavy, but you wouldn't have to worry about that. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen you post a single mean thing. That's a good thing. :lol:

got my XBL vision pack in the mail today so I'm good for online gaming for the next year!

no rock band yet though :( but if anyone wants to play anything else, I'm completely game for the most part. (especially more since I only have 1 final this semester)

I go on NeoGAF sometimes, mostly just to read. Especially enjoy the GIFs and the NPD threads. I think I've been a member for a while, although Im not sure.

I've been catching up on that Mana Knight bannage thread and wow. Some of those posts of his people were quoting surprised even me. I never kept up with the kid outside of the GGT, but seems he behaved even worse outside of it. Worst part is he was without a doubt 100% not a joke account. "Box Bitches" and "your post causes cancer" and such. He reminds me of a bipolar person. Pretty normal, nerdy dude at times, but if someone says the slightest insult at Sony, turns into this violent personality that will do anything to discredit and insult that person. Sad.
