I think banning mana knight caused more trouble then keeping him around.
 
I like me some chiptunes. Does anybody else listen to One Life Left? Brilliant gaming podcast from some chaps in the UK.

I'm on a virtual console kick, and about to dowload all these if I can keep the connection stable-

I can't say getting away from CAG a bit would be harmful in anyway, but I'd just have to find something else to fill up my generally extreme boredom, so I'm not sure it would do much good. Pretty soon half the people I talk to on CAG are gonna be gone anyway. Though I talk to Roufuss more on AIM now than I did when he was posting.

QFT. It reminds me of PS2. That system's 1st year was rough. Now, it has a kick ass library. I like shooting people as much as anyone, but I'm getting tired of third and first person shooters, due to my recent overdose of them. That's when I retreat into the RPG and fighter bunker for about 3 months.

I used to listen to alot of podcasts at work, but now its down to:

GFW Radio(everyone needs to listen to this shit, even if you hate pc gaming)

Sometimes EGM live.
 
I wish we could get a tally of all the third or third person shooters this year.
Its gotta be like at least a dozen of them.
I like them, but after playing about 7 of them this year.
I might RPG it up like crazy next year.

That's a sweet lineup. Do they have Wonderboy in Monster World yet? That one is great. I played some Punch-Out!! last weekend, and I got to Mike Tyson before he beat my ass. He's a bastard, always has been, always will be.

back on topic, getting ready for my wii. Picked up Zelda and MP3 today, gonna get Mario and Trauma Centaur 2 on Sunday. and I need a point card to get Sin and Punishment and Alien Soldier...

I'm going to ask for a laptop for Christmas. Basically I just want to know what specs I should tell my parents to buy.

All I need it for is browsing the net and maybe playing a couple games (nothing big. I'm not really into PC games, but I'd like to be able to play something like Warcraft if I decide to).

Like practically any new laptop would be enough. With those goals, I'd just go for the lightest/quietest and best value you can find. You'll probably want at least 2GB RAM since Vista is a hog and my brother-in-laws new PC is chugging with only 1 (got him another GB for Christmas). But other than avoiding shit processors like Celerons, anything will do, in my opinion.

That's the problem for me, I really like third person shooters, but there don't seem to be enough of them.

There's a shitload of first person shooters though, they sell so I guess that's why they keep being made.

Ok, I'm always late on these things, but I fired up Mass Effect last night, and yes, it was awesome and yes I love it. :p

While I agree I do like third person more than first person, I still think there is way to many games like that, and way to many military first person shooters.

I like Mass Effect A lot also. I'm only like... 4 hours in. I've just got a pass to the Garage in Hanshan Port. I want to play, but my cousin is playing SMG on my TV :(
 
Only good third person shooters I can think of are Uncharted, Ratchet and Gears. There's also Crackdown, but I didn't really like that one.

Good third person games in general are Assassins Creed and Kameo?

Okay, well, I'd probably not recommend a computer with those specs, because that is shit. But Any CP around 2ghz is plenty, Windows XP is fine, 1-2 gigs of ram, and a decent Nvidia or ATI video card with 128mbs of Video ram should be fine.

That's assuming you would only want to play WoW, or games of that caliber

That's what I figured, but wanted to double check. I'm not too into computers, but the one I'm using now is pretty much done. I need a new one.

Oblivion is First Person. Unless you are stupid and play the thing in third person, and even then you dont have guns.

There is not alot of shooing in dead rising, just alot of picture taking, and mass effect does not go off hit detection, it rolls a die everytime you shoot a gun.

I was adding to his list of Third Person Games (He mentioned Kameo and Assassin's Creed after his post about FPSs). Yeah, Oblivion in Third-person is horrid. But, i guess it could be considered Thirdperson also.

Right, plus I am thinking of good 3rd person games and dead rising has the worst save system ever so I don't consider it good :p

Still, at least the typewriters were numerous and well placed. Like after you did a boss battle you'd be able to find a typewriter easily to save, but in Dead Rising after you did a mission you'd have to pray you'd make it to a room to save otherwise back to the title screen.

Lame.

For the moment, but in the long run everything will blow over and we can forget TMK even existed. Where as otherwise, we would still be suffering through his crap for years to come. What caused the real problem was people questioning why he was banned.
 
I just found out I might actually be getting a dual quad-core desktop. I don't know what I'll do with 8 cores, but I'll find a way.
