Never did and never will understand the complaints about the save system in Dead Rising. People just want their hand's held all the way through a game these days I guess.

Still playing Mario 64 and started Zack & Wiki today. Z&W is fun, but how long is it? Not sure I could take the game for more than 8 - 10 hours.

Yeah, I can't do Z&W all at once.

But man, those onesie twosie puzzles all put a smile on my face. It's like Mouse Trap or something.

Also, I toy'd with the idea of making Jennifer Shepard a total bitch, but I can't play games like that. Kinda like Cheapy on the current podcast, I gotta try to be nice. I should check my alignment because I was blunt a couple of times and got called out for it once.

Don't want my hand held, I want a fucking retry option. You go, run all the way to a mission, fail and have to reload your game and run all the way back there again to try again. You beat the mission then oops, it left you with little health and you die. Guess what, you get to load your game, run all the way back and retry. It's like the GTA save system but worse. At the very least once you beat a mission, it should do maybe a quick save so if you die after a mission you don't have to do it again.

I guess the devs of those games don't know what a retry option is.
I'd prefer Dead Rising over Ass Creed & Kameo :/
Good for you

Would you be more forgiving if it were on PS3? I think we all know the answer to that.

Edit: Jesus fucking christ the red coin star in Shifting Sand Land is like impossible. The flying kind of sucks alot in Mario 64. I'd say it's the games biggest fault.

I have a hard time playing as a good guy. I almost always go over the dark side when given the choice.

I don't want my hand held, I want good game. And Dead Rising was not a good game, its save system being one of many faults I had with it.

Exactly, I hate having money so much that I went out and bought a console I don't like with a game I wanted to hate since I thought that would be better than having $400 in my bank account.

You caught me.

Beat Bioshock today.
I felt the good ending left something to be desired... I mean, all that build up, and a like 30 second clip is all you get. I wanted more plot! Also, didn't get to get to Cohen's room because I killed him =/. I want to replay it for the bad ending, but to get the achievements I will have to save all of the girls again (so I can get all 53 tonics). I don't see myself playing through this game three times... decisions!

Also have The Darkness lined up. I'm probably done for tonight, though - time to watch football and do homework.

I really hope Plush shows up as a downloadable Rock Band track soon. They've already got one STP song, so I doubt the rights would be too difficult to earn.

Finally found out some of the achievements for PSU AOTIASHDSASDKHDDKLAD, so I'm off to get it.
So I'm home and I've got everything but the delayed-till-tomorrow motherboard and processor. Hooo boy.
What kind of PC needs a motherboard or a processor?

What do you PC gaming CAGs think about achievements in PC games?

I liked them in the new Orange Box games and I wish they were in PC versions of other games like Bioshock and Command and Conquer. Because it's just more reasons to play a game again.

I mean, I've played HL2 Ep1 three times but I would play it again if I could get the "One Free Bullet" achievement that a hear the Xbox users talking about.
Case 5 in Ace Attorney is fucking sweet. Are the other games more like this case?
Is that the one that is unrelated to the main story? I didn't like it

You make it seem like every mission was excruciatingly hard, that the only save point is always 400 miles away. The game wasn't hard, especially when you stop trying to go against it and play it like you're supposed to. But whatever, I'm sure you had more fun with Lair & Sonic 360 ;)
Case 5 in Ace Attorney is fucking sweet. Are the other games more like this case?
No. PW 2 & 3 are play just like the first 4 cases, only with a minor (and extremly annoying) game play element.

Achievements are OK. If they aren't there, it's no big deal. I usually come up with my own anyway, like "Keep playing until you beat the game." and "Actually start playing the game."

I don't always get those achievements. It is fun seeing Gears of War and Gears of War (Windows) in my list of games.

They weren't always that far away, but it was still annoying that if you didn't make it and you died you'd have to reload your game.

And yes, I did have more fun with those games.

I have the same mental achievements. They're much more meaningful anyway. I do like that GFW will let other people know that you're playing Gears of War though... kinda cool. Though I suppose I won't know exactly how cool till tomorrow.

Just wait until you experience the hour long install. Gears has the longest install ever.

Xfire has been doing that for... like 3 years. Man, back in the day, xfire was the shit. Now, it's degrading. There's no new revolutionary content. I remember the first time they released ingame messaging
So awesome

The best thing about GFW is all of the other little things it entails, like widescreen support and 360 controller support. Widescreen is nice, since lots of people have widescreen monitors now, and I'm glad when I don't have to edit an ini file just to get 1680x1050. Most games now aren't a problem even if they aren't GFW though.

Yeah, but nobody gives a shit about Xfire... it's not a universal standard nor will it ever be.
Yeah, but nobody gives a shit about Xfire... it's not a universal standard nor will it ever be.
Once again, I said it WAS the shit. I just logged on now to see some people who I haven't seen in a while, andmost of them haven't logged in in fucklong
because ignorance and laziness is a good reason to take a stance against something.
Exactly! Someone gets it.

I think I'm quitting on Zack & Wiki. It's to unforgiving and I hate replaying the same scenes over and over. It is pretty fun though and maybe will be something I buy at a cheap price later so I can play it at my own pace (I have it from Gamefly)

Also, can anyone put a santa cap on my avatar? I'd give you mad props.

I think FFXI has it beat. Takes like 3 hours to install that game the first time.

New avatar! Almost didn't recognize you.
Chac,
The room is mostly done.
Nice. Have you had ample room to move stuff, or have you had to flip the script on that shit?
New avatar! Almost didn't recognize you.
We got Chacrana with the Gankutsuou avatar, linkpwns with the Chevalier avatar. Finally some people that are representing good anime.
Is that the one that is unrelated to the main story? I didn't like it
Yeah.. But it seems like all of the art and dialogue instantly got 2x better.
Nice. Have you had ample room to move stuff, or have you had to flip the script on that shit?
I have not had ample room it was a stretch to fit it all.
I have not had ample room it was a stretch to fit it all.
But it did fit? If it's a tight squeeze, I'm sure there's some stuff that can be fixed. All will be revealed when you have new pix.

That's awesome, thanks!
I was wondering how you were going to pull that off. How awesome.
Agreed

ahhhh Wii. Thankfully, a nice 11 hour save from TP is on there so I don't have to start from the beginning. Just played through the goron dungeon and got the bow. I don't remember it taking 11 hours to get the bow, but w/e :)
That's awesome, thanks!

No problem. It took about 1 minute to do, since I still had the hat png on my desktop. Always glad to hook a CAG brother up.

What the fuck is with this thursday night football shit? I totally missed the packer game, plus they lost!

I love my local game store.. Took in my N64 and about 10 games, got Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, and the new Die Hard DVD.

Also, assassin's creed: Not so bad, not yet anyway. I'm actually kind of addicted to collecting flags, a lot like crackdown.

Chac the computer blocking the door is not that big of a problem. It leads to a glass porch that has another entrance on the other side.

Aright, that's cool then. Only other suggestion I have then is to take down at least some of the wanton posters (obviously, not the Champloo one) and various stuff on the wall, but apart from that, lookin' pretty damn good.

Yeah Im gonna get to that this weekend, im just dead tired from working like 10 hours and then coming home and working on this for like 5 more.

Not that I'm complaining, but I'm finding myself less interested in this thread since TMK was gone because of the lack of his insanity. Maybe it's just the holidays and people are busier, but it seems lately like a Chac/Inu AIM chat. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Plus daroga's wisdom of "spending too much time on here" applies to me as well.

Honestly, I don't have much to offer right now since yeah, I haven't been playing much and I've been waiting for the computer to play anything new. I spend a good amount of time on CAG, but I don't think it's bordering on obsession or anything. I'm usually out doing other things.
