hey everyone..

since I am a newbie when it comes to this site.. games rule if they are cheap.. so i'm going to make a list so when newbs come here and try to post a topic they can look here first and see if their "deal" from online or otherwise is a good deal or not (i just did a search for 'bad deals" or "don't deal with" and didn't come up with anything so i hope i'm not just retreading someone elses work.. sorry if i am.. i'm a newb)

good places to buy from:

look at the front page.. see all those stores down the side? those are good places to get stuff from (if you're lazy i'll relist them here...get the links fromt he main page though because i don't know how to do the CAG links)

amazon
buy
bestbuy
circuitcity
ebgames
gamefly
gamestop
gogamer.
kbtoys.com
half
newegg
overstock
walmart
target

other places i've seen mentioned around here as good places...
kmart, media play, FYE, and Frys..

bad places...

do not mention anything that remotely includes BuyRite.com.. because that place while it seems repitiable.. many CAGs (pretty much anyone who has gone there) has had problems...and they are a pretty crappy store anyway and usually overpriced..

please post more.. i'll edit to the main post if people are interested..
thank you
Rob (hope this saves newbs from making mistakes i've made in posting "deals")
Not a deal.

I'm gonna put it in Deal Discussion.
ah deal discussion.. sorry..heh its a deal if you uhj... hmm.. heh i'll think of something.. heh.. thanks..

I appreciate your goodwill in trying to help out new users, but I don't think this topic is really necessary. As long as a new user takes the time and effort to browse and search the boards, I think they can be quickly acquainted with this website, its guidelines, and general bargains information.

i did this in response to a locked article yesterday... you see i posted information about buyrite.. and it was quickly shot down and the post was locked.. i was just trying to stop that from occuring again

But the real problem is that people don't search the topics on byrite before they post and they don't look at the stickies either.

TigerDirect is usually THE store to avoid for most at all costs, but it's mainly just their rebates.

If only I had known this at about october of last year.

A rebate for a case. Got a case and 7-1 card reader with rebates. Got the 7-in-1 rebate but not the case.

Hey, TigerDirect screwed me too. Great product, but they kept my $70 rebate.
