A few questions from a new 360 owner:

So, I bought my system last week and registered it online today, here's what it says: Warranty Start: 9/25/2008 8:00:00 PM
Warranty Expiration: 9/26/2009 7:59:59 PM
What's the deal?

Also, how can I play Divx/xvid over the network?

Also, how can I tell if I have the latest chipset (Jasper, I believe?).

Thanks!

That's the "normal" warranty. Your 360 is protected for 3 years for RROD failures only. Your chipset is probably a Falcon. I don't think Jaspers are readily available yet. Easiest way to tell would be manufacture date and wattage rating on the power brick.

Darn... Oh well, it doesn't seem to get very hot when I play it, hopefully I won't have to deal with any RROD's. :\
Your not a 360 owner until you experience the RROD.
Haha. That's so true. I hope you don't have to deal with it PhrostByte. There's nothing more frustrating than talking to "Roger" in India while he runs you through the same exact steps you already found on the website. Of course, he can't approve the repair until you do it all again so there you sit with your best friend, "Roger" for a half hour while you pretend to clear the cache and detach the hard drive.

On the plus side, Xbox Live is awesome.
