I used a GGC for the first time today. Anyone left who's never used one?

For the first time in my life, I was able to use a GGC at Best Buy. The game was Metal Slug Advance; the price was $17.50 after the coupon. Every other time I've tried to get something with the GGC, my stores never had the card in stock.

Does this make me a real CAG?

Anyway, this brings me to my question. I've been here for well over a year now, and I've managed to go until today without using the GGC before. Is there anyone on the site who's never used the card before? And if not, why?

Wow, I had always thought Gothic that you had used a GGC. I've used probably already 10-12, if not more, this year starting from around August/September. I actually think that my first GGC use was when I PM'ed Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and used the GGC to make it come to 19.99.

Does BB have Metal Slug Advance now for 24.99 or something?

I never have. I don't shop at Best Buy very often and I've never seen one at my store when I have been there.
What is a GGC and what does it do? I live in the woods, where there is no Bestbuy. Can it be used online?
GGC

I have probably only use it 2 or 3 times, I am just too lazy to go wait in line and put a few dollars on it to get $5 off, and no I'm not rich, just extremely lazy.

Not so far. THere has never beeen anything I wanted at BB over $19.99 that I wanted that much for another $5 off. Way too many $5 and $10 this year to bother.

I am tempted this week though. I have a Rewards Zones certificate and FF:DOS is down to $25. Since my gaming is currently limited to portables I have greater incentive than usual. Getting it down to $15 might push me over the edge into GGC use.

I've never used one, but that's mostly because I never go to BB which is about a 1/2 hour away. That and the only game I purchased from BB B&M is Fire Emblem for $9.99, which doesn't qualify.

You're lucky to make it to the elite(and sometimes snooty) group of CAG.

What I thought was funny was that I had discovered and was using the GGC even before I joined CAG. A friend of mine and I were calling it the Best Buy Permi(nant)-discount. I started visiting this site and read some threads about GGC and I knew this site was for me!

never used one.

what are the pros/cons? any catches? i buy a game every once an a while from BB. Most of mine are sniped off ebay. Can the GGC make a huge financial impact on a game purchase

It doesn't make a big difference on $50 games, but if BB has a good deal on a recent game, it makes the deal that much better. And for $20 games, it is great -- 25% off.

I used to keep the plastic cases, but I ran out of room. I have used dozens of them.
Yep, used it to get Star Ocean 3 for $35 and Chain of Memories for $20! Thanks CAG!
that may make me use my first GGC (COM). Never used one in the year i've been here

Nope, never used one. I guess because i have a hard time giving my money to a company before i decide what to buy from them. I usually just walk around until i find a game, then buy it. Oh well... maybe someday

These cards are great for new GBA games. Best Buy usually has them for $25 release week. With the coupon, the new game becomes just $20. Without it, I doubt I would have bought as many GBA games as I do.
