I got an email from [email protected] saying I won 420,000 GBP in a raffle from 8/16. I don't remember entering in one, it says it was the " Nestle Food PLC promotion's Online Sweepstakes International Program" and goes on to give info about my ticket and what not.

All it wants is name/address/phone number

What ya'll think? Anyone remember and Nestle contests? Haha, this would be sweet to win $700,000 or so. LOL.

I would contact the actual company first about any promotions they might have had. Until you get confirmation that the contest actually exists and the email is legit, don't send any information. I can't find any information on the contest.

I dunno, it's a nestle domain. I would contact them. It's not like it is asking for your social security or Credit Card.
if you don't remember entering in it, then it's not real... it's quite simple, really.
I dont remember entering that GTAIV contest and I won a free month of XBL. It was real, while not as unbelievable as a shitload of money. I would do what was said above and just go contact the company, see if they had a contest and if so see who won.

Or you can just give them my address. Ill let you know if they send it;)

Yeah first thing to do is google the contest name and it'll either show the actual contest or threads about it being a hoax.

Its legit....

Make sure you give them your Social Security #
Credit Card #s
ATM Card # w/ Pin

And.....

Seriously... have some common sense.

I got an email from an African Prince asking for 10,000 United States American Dollars so that he could get his jewels and give me half of his treasure.

Yea, to the last 3 assholes. See, I'm not a dumbass. It had legit website and only asked for my fuckin phone number, so easy on the dumbass picture, and relax on the Nigerian scams. It didn't ask me to Western Union them a share so I could claim my millions, shitdicks.

Since you seem to legitimately be thick, as soon as you respond to that e-mail, they know they've got a valid address to sell to spammers, as well as your name and phone number to sell to telemarketers. Check the full headers of the message, and I'll bet it isn't from Nestle at all.

Well fuck you too, he was a Ugandan Prince.

And if you don't remember entering the contest...then your the dumbass for thinking its real.

PS Way to be a complete fucking idiot, you just said they only asked for your phone number, while in the first post they asked for:

"All it wants is name/address/phone number"

Get your shit straight before you try to act like a smart ass

You mean THIS contest? First Google search you do shows it's a scam.

I don't get it. Just because they left out the 'e' in "nstleclaims@hotmail" doesn't make it fake. I need more damning evidence!

No offense, but I believe that it's fake. I don't believe Nestle had a contest/raffle of any sort in the past week so although some of the users in this thread are mean about it, please listen to them and don't send these people your info.

Fake fake fake. Scam. PHisher. ID theies. Whatever makes you understand you won nothing. And 420,000in GBP is less than $700,000 US. Less than 420,000US

FWD with full headers to your states FBI http://fbi.gov

Oh, and out of country lottos are illegal in the USA, if you win any of those.

BTW - None of your friends have put ahit out on you (I played with one. Generic answers based on probabilty. IE, his men know what time I leave for work and come home from work. Amazing, as I don't work outside my home.) Also, no Nigerian or other royalty, or lawyer, will randomly e-mail you, ask you to commit international fraud, then give you lots of money for it. Nor will they give you money for helping out and failing to complete the transaction.

They only ask for your name and address to make you feel like "Hey, maybe it isnt a scam because they only want my ----" Then they make up small excuses to get pieces of your info. "Oh can I get the last 4 digits of your SS for confirmation" ETC ETC>
