I Won This Halo 3 Guitar

Phoenix Audubon

CAGiversary!
Hey, y'all.

I picked up the guitar I won from the radio station at the end of October. I won it while waiting in line to buy "Halo 3"...I didn't realize that the guitar had H3 designs on it, as well. I plucked a few strings, but I really don't know how to play it, and--how do you Brits say it?--I can't be arsed to learn when I have to perform on my flute with the college band next month. So for now, it's been moved to the Garage of No Return.

Anyways, here are a few shots I took. Enjoy!

Here's the tag with the model number, in case some of y'all were curious...

Thats what I thought it was at first was a Warlok then I saw Ibanez in the one pic. Looks like a nice guitar. Wonder if it sounds like a nice guitar though or if it is just a shit guitar with halo 3 printed on it.
It looks like a B.C. Rich Warlok from the 80's, I guess Ibanez is out of ideas for styles?
I agree. The best course of action would be to sell it an enjoy the profit.

Oh, and Ibanez has been stuck in the 80s since... well the 80s. Just look at the Floyd Rose tremolo on that thing.
brits?
Sure, there's some on this board, right? (Okay fine, I just copied this post from another board. Sue me. ;) )
I bet that would fetch quite a bit $$$.
Indeed. A friend in Australia, who works at a music store, said that model, by itself, sells for about AUD$1599. But I think I want to hang on this, even though the money could be well-used.
shame its not a guitar hero guitar, huh
Agreed.

If you say so...like I said, I have a different instrument of choice ATM. But, I do intend to get guitar lessons...someday...

Well, I don't have an amp, either. But, from the few strings I plucked, it did sound okay, if a bit flat tone-wise...

AUD1599 can someone tell me what that is in US? As for selling it I wouldnt unless you dont want to learn to play it or play it if you already know how to. I wouldn't play it much if it was me but I would still keep it. You should be able to get atleast what it seels for and I would say 200 to 500 more then what it sells for.

$1430, if you believe http://www.xe.com

personally i'd sell it. if you're a collector then it's a cool thing to own but as a guitar to play it's not worth the $600 you can get for it.

Sell it, put the money to good use. Don't hang on to things like that because "some day i may want to try to play it."
I hope you're kidding.
he said he didn't want to learn the guitar, so wouldn't that be better for him?

I would sell it immediately, for as much as possible. Buy a real guitar with it that doesn't look so fucking ugly and dorky. Or if it was me I'd probably buy a nice big HDTV.

Yeah, I'd totally rather have a cheap $20 piece of plastic over something worth >$1000 that I could sell and buy ten crappy plastic guitars with. Idiot.

Unless you plan to learn guitar or hang it up your room for decoration, you should sell it to someone who could use it. Would make a nice gift to for someone you care about.

No point keeping something that expensive if you're never going to use it. The joy you might get showing it to us and to a few friends down the line will never equal the price you could get for it on Ebay. That's just my take on it, but jesus that's a lot of money that will, according to you, be collecting dust in the garage of no return.

I would be embarassed playing that in public lol. I'd definitely sell it. Some Halo nerd will likely pay big bucks for it on Ebay, take that and get a respectable guitar.
