I think my friends were more happy I got new shoes than I was. Even my coworkers (who I only know for two weeks) were "excited". I don't really think my old shoes were that bad.
How on earth is that tipping thread still open?
The amount of selfish, self righteous assholes posting in there and their mindsets completely blows me away.

He just had no time, no time at all...

So, do any of y'all have a suggestion for a printer? I want some small, cheap and reliable. If it had a scanner attached with it, that would be nice... but not necessary.
They are so expensive... are they really that much better?

I was thinking of getting this printer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828103385
Probably a lot better, but I dunno.

I'm wasn't a huge printer guy (I'd just use them at the office when I really needed one for something), but when chika got her toshiba laptop, she was offered an HP DeskJet F380 all-in-one for like $15. She took it and it's been a beast for me for the past 2.5 years... I've done a few ink cartridge refills for $10 (black) or $15 (color) at Walgreens too. Works out pretty nice.

HP DeskJet F300 when we got it at BB, it was like $67 and it's a scanner/printer/copier. If you have a word to fax program, you can scan a document and fax it. For being a mofo cheapass 3-in-1 it's awesome. I got it because when I got my laptop, you got a $50 credit towards a printer so I got the cheapest one over $50 that had decent reviews.

HP makes great, easy-to-set-up, and reliable printers, so I'd at least recommend getting one of their printers. I'd also recommend staying away from Epson, as I've had nothing but bad experiences with their printers.

we have high-end epsons at work and they work well, but are a PITA. I used to have an Epson and it had awesome print quality until it shit the bed after like 6mo and no one could figure out why. it just stopped working with no error code, obvious problem etc. :bomb:
The only source that I can find aout AT&T blocking access to /b is a thread on reddit. :|

That's not reliable enough for me.
I'm on AT&T and I can access all the boards except /b. What the fuck?

Yeah, I love my grandma's HP printer, it is great. I am just trying to decide if buying a printer for school is even worth it. I am pretty sure I could just always print shit out at the library if I wanted to...
I think it's fair to say that printers are the worst computer accessory ever made.
This. I loathe printers, but sometimes you just can't avoid using them.

you want a printer if you can manage it. it will make your life easier. it will let you sleep in that extra half-hour instead of trudging across campus to the library to print and then trudging back to your 8am class. also, if you wanna do a report, etc on special paper, it will make your life easier.

Sounds like you need to scope out the library and test it out to see if you need a printer or not, but a printer of your own will help a lot for a good price.

If you're taking any sort of writing class or labs, I'd recommend getting a cheap printer. It would kinda suck writing something at 1 AM in your room, then having to go to the library to print. Not to mention there's a chance the library charges you to print per page.

Clarkson didn't charge, FWIW.

My school didn't charge if you printed in a lab, but did charge at the library for over X# of pages for some reason.
I'd have no problem paying $50 for the repairs but $150? fuck that. Only reason I'm even doing it is cause it's a BC model. Otherwise I would of probably saved up and got a new one instead.
I was in the same boat. I thought about just getting a new one, but I really like having the all in one PS3.
Get a laser printer.
Yup. I still can't believe these have not becomes more popular among college students. Samsung carts are easily refilled and the printer is like a rock. I paid 80 bucks for my SCX 4100 and it has been a workhorse.

Buy a laser printer and get a full ream of paper. Doing it this way will save you in the long run.

Laser toner lasts a LOT longer than inkjet cartridges. And, like inkjet cartridges, you can buy 3rd party toner for a lot cheaper.
http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/printer/inkjet/1/storefronts/CH366A%2523B1H

I have an HP Deskjet, when my old Epson died a few years ago I just went into Staples and grabbed the cheapest printer. It's worked fantastic ever since. And you get $10 off of ink if you buy that one, it seems.
I think I might get that printer.

I can get that printer, plus an extra ink cartridge and a VoodooDNA mouse pad for $65 shipped after coupon and 5% bing cashback.

It would be as horrifying as his condition, Moxio. :[

And why go for Hawking when you can go for that $$$$a, that dude Edward Witten?
(If you haven't heard of him, read up about what he's done. He's absolutely devastating.)

Buy a printer that you can find cheap generic carts for. I still have my Epson r200 solely because i can get ink for really cheap. I'd like one of their new Artisan series printers but i can't find any generic ink for them yet.
Rabbitt: Asobi Seksu is coming the day after Experimental Dental School, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and the Depreciation Guild play. And at the same venue too.

I should just assume you will be there for each, right?

I'm pretty jealous, I had no idea MM were touring. I bet they're great live.
