If someone was to buy a PS2 now...

Manhunt, Silent Hill games, GTA games, Timesplitters games, and Katamari games are some good ones.

Also, if you own a Playstation 2 and don't have Shadow of the Colossus, you're a terrible human being.
 
Guess I might as well contribute my list:

Disgaea - So deep you can play it as long as you want. Really.

Ico - One of the most hauntingly beautiful games I've ever experienced.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - Awesome dark RPG.

Castle Shikigami 2 - Fantastic bullet-hell type shooter.

Metal Saga - Humorous, open-ended post-apocalyptic RPG.

Katamari Damacy - Makes you look at the real world in a whole new way.

Odin Sphere - PS2 finally does 2D the way it should be done.

Everblue 2 - Undersea exploration...just awesome.

Culdcept - Card/board game fusion that's tons of fun.

Growlanser Generations - Two awesome RPGs in one package with the Working Designs touch. God, I miss those guys.

I have GoW, Final Fantasy X, Socom 3(shitty), Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy VII(PSX,mint,gh,borrowed from brothers friend) and Disgaea 2 all for PS3 to upscale.

Games I want: Madden 2004(IMO the best football game ever for its time, if I want football on PS3 I'll just turn to this to have fun with friends when they come over), Metal Gear Solid(PSX), Castlevania SotN(PSX), Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Slug Anthology, and the Sly Cooper trilogy.

I'm definitely playing some upscaled Disgaea 2 once I get the PS3.

Xenosaga Episode II is not really worthy of being up there for me, but I'm a softy for it, since it goes between episodes 1 and 3. That being said, it's really hard to come up with the ten best! Anything more than three favorites is tough shit.
