If the PS3 were $399, what would you do?

The poll was set for the HIGH end system beiing $399, not the lowend. And most people here aren't in Japan, so this is still not true. Sorry.

And I'll be Wii-only until/unless the 360 or PS3 see a sub-$200 pricetag with a bundle of somesort.
 
there is no "high" end, there is the ps3, and the ps3 with blue ray add-on. much like xbox with the coming HD-dvd addon. (the core is a freaking joke)

NOBODY EVER LAUNCH SYSTEMS AT DIFFERENT PRICES, is only matter of time before sony announces it for US too.

You are ignorant. Both PS3 versions, the "low" end version and the "high" end version both come with Blu-Ray. It's nothing like the HD-DVD add on coming out for the 360.

And videogame systems do get launched at different prices.

Xbox 360 core launches here at $300.

Xbox 360 core is gonna launch in Japan at ~$242 and come with N3 and PGR3.

Wii is set to launch here at $250.

Wii to launch in Mexico for ~$450

If you're gonna be a fanboy for Sony, you might want to do some research, but wait! What do you need that for when you can just say stuff like the 360 core is a freakin joke or "Assassins Creed is PS3 exclusive 4 real"?

And don't forget that the Wii in Japan doesn't come with a "game" and cost $212 American dollars while in the USA we get the "game" and it cost us $250.

Video game consoles are always a different price in every country because of the market and taxes. The taxes are why Europe always gets screwed.

Agreed. Now that HDMI is in the low end model (that was confirmed world-wide, right?), the high end seems silly. What does it have different? Just the bigger harddrive and the card reader?

Although, wether you'll be able to find the cheap one for 6 months reamins to be seen.
