and the rumored wii-mote like accesory comes out before the holiday like some are predicting, (joystiq.com) then the question is this?

WOULD YOU TRADE IN YOUR WII TO GET ONE???

I'm sad to say that yes, i probably will, sorry nintendo, not enough (quality) games to compete with the 360 library,

others thoughts???

Ohhhhhhh jesus, this thread won't end well.

First off, the "rumored Wiimote-like accessory", so far, hasn't had any proof behind it. The one game that's been connected with it the most - Banjo-Kazooie - is selling for $40 (meaning no pack-in), and has been demoed with the standard controllers.

Second, even if the thing DOES exist, it'll be a while before we see games that use it, IF we see games that use it. If it's not a standard part of the system, developers aren't going to rush to use it when people are going to have to buy a special controller to play their game. Dual control modes are possible - Nintendo does it all the time - but since everyone's already got the standard Xbox controller, what's the point?

Third, the simple fact that the Xbox has a Wii-like controller doesn't mean that it's a replacement for the system. The Xbox doesn't have the Virtual Console titles, Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, or any of the third party games like Zack and Wiki or Endless Ocean, and the Wii doesn't have the 360-only Marketplace titles, Halo, Mass Effect, or games like Bioshock. Aside from a few third part games, there's virtually no overlap in the console's libraries, and I don't think one optional controller will change that.

Bottom line: this thread is stupid, because the Wii and Xbox aren't the same thing, and never will be. Time to lock it and pretend it never happened! :D

There will not be a wimmote controller for the Xbox 360. Its already too late for that. If there is one, it will not be as well built as the Wiimote. However, the next Xbox console will likely have a Wiimote like controller as the standard controller.

i'm not saying that they are the same thing, but i am saying that outside of mario kart, wii sports, zak and wiki and smash bros. i'm really disappointed with the wii and the underutilization of the technology that nintendo has demonstrated so far, i.e. just throwing in motion control with some games that look like gamecube ports,

number two, some people are getting into the wii because of price point, and i'm just saying that if microsoft drops the price lower than that of the wii and if they come out with some wii like controls, it doesn't have to be the same as the wii, it will be close enough to do some damage to nintendo's bottom line

and lastly, the virtual console is the most overhyped thing ever, buying old games over again, when i've played and or beaten most of them the first time years ago, xbox live arcade trumps that anyday, what i'm trying to guage is that if anyone else who is getting fed up with nintendo would think about cutting their losses now,

At first, I really wanted to dismiss this thread out of hand and make my usual snide remark about Wii haters getting their own room for self-gratification, but this needs a real response.

First of all, I don't see the existence of a waggle controller for the 360 as a valid reason to abort the Wii. Isn't the main argument against the Wii the gimicky waggle component to begin with? So, you would reject Nintendo's gimmick in favor of Microsoft's? That sounds like a recipe for more disappointment. Especially without seeing any of the games. I'm assuming you bought a Wii at launch blind, without knowing any of the games, franchise continuations, or gameplay. And, I'm assuming you're going to buy this MS motion controller from a similar, ill-informed standpoint.

A better question would be: "Will you dump your Wii if the MS motion controller delivers what Nintendo should have delivered with the Wii one year ago?" Meaning, if the games are better developed, and more playable, you will consider jumping ship. I think we're a long way of from even asking this question since we haven't even seen such a controller yet.

In fact, if you really cared, you might want to make it a poll instead of a flamebait thread.
