If you could bring three shows back from the dead what would they be?

Futurama
The Tick (live action)
Mission Hill (hearing some of the plans for season 2 made me sad that it'll never happen)

Also:
Playmakers
The Critic
Gary & Mike
Undeclared
Undergrads
Clerks Animated
Home Movies

Fastlane definitely. I really liked that show but FOX buried it on Fridays

Angel. Had a good run, but I felt like there was more goodness left in it.

Firefly - just to actually pick a 3rd. Watched it during it's original run, but I really didn't miss it all that much. I bet it would have only improved as it rolled along.

I have only one I feel deserves to be brought back from the dead.

Mission Hill

They only needed 5 more episodes to close out the series.

16. "CRAP GETS IN YOUR EYES" (Or, "Pretty in Pink")
Written by Aaron Ehasz

17. "PREMATURE MATRICULATION" (Or, "Death of a Yale Man")

18. "I WAS A TEENAGE PORN STAR" (Or, "Bye Bye Nerdie")
Written by Andrew Kreisberg

If you haven't seen it run out and buy the complete series on DVD for only 20 dollars.

It was the only show I have seen that I can picture as The Simpson's successor.

Good call on 3-South I loved that freaking show. Same with The Maxx another amazing show! Thanks for reminding me about those.

There is a guy on imdb that is selling The Complete Series of that for 12.99 + 4 shipping (or 19.99 for 2 + 4)

Here is what you get:

You will receive a complete 3-South DVD containing all 10 aired episodes + all 3 unaired episodes. The DVD is complete with a short intro and menu with the 3-South theme song. The menu is very nice looking and allows you to choose any episode you would like to watch. The episodes were collected from various sources and I went through and re mastered each of them to offer you the best quality I could.

The DVD is shipped first class and comes complete with a case and professional looking artwork made by yours truly! People will think you bought this at a store, I get asked about it every time I bring it somewhere. People that never even heard of this show, die laughing and ask me what store they can buy it at.

This is NOT the cheap crap copy that is being sold by others online. This was made by ME, no one else. You will not find this DVD anywhere else but right here. This was a personal project for my friends and I, until I saw how many others there were just like me and my friends, dieing to relive some of the funniest moments ever.

I'm looking into buying it myself...since it will probably never come out on DVD.

If someone wants to go halfies with me I would be willing to do that. (So it is only 12 instead of 17)

I made my own DVD set of 3-South. I absolutely loved this show, and it's cool to get to see it over and over again.

I had about 3 or 4 episodes that were excellent quality that I taped when it aired back in the day. I used those, and then got the remaining ones off a tape I bought from someone.

I'm curious as to the quality of this guy's set. If it's really "remastered" and better quality than the set I made, it might be worth some money.

I did a little "remastering" on my set, though, and I'm pretty happy with the results. I put the full, extended intro in front of each episode, edited out all the commercials, and made Dolby 2.0 surround tracks for the episodes. The only bad thing about my set is that a few of the episodes are missing a few seconds at the beginning, and one of them is missing a few seconds at the end.

Clone High was released on DVD (although just in Canada for now) with a great DVD set, so maybe there's hope for 3-South. Didn't these shows run back to back during the "10 Spot" lineup?

Also, how exactly would you go "halves" with someone to buy that set? Wouldn't the discount cancel out, since you'd have to ship one of the sets to someone?
Firefly
Brisco County Jr.
Jack of All Trades or Nicodemus Legend
I can't believe it took that long for Brisco County Jr. to be named. I was so pissed off when that show was cancelled.

The other two to go with Brisco County are Futurama and Quantum Leap. Futurama because it didn't deserve to be cancelled and Quantum Leap just because I loved it, it did have a good run though.

They should bring back "family dog" or "dinosaurs" (disney show in the early 90's). I bought the family dog dvd on ebay (one of those bootleg things, but it doesn't seem to be available for download).

Sounds good to me, as long as the quality is worth it. The chances of a DVD are slim to none at best. Hit me up with a PM and we can work it out.

Holy crap, Family Dog? For some reason I remember that show being hilarious, though I admit I was only 10 at the time. Might have to look into this one as well. All I remember is the family throwing a party, and the dog went around trying to find scraps of food to eat, and ended up eating a cigarrette. And in another episode they went to the zoo....

Wasn't the animation close to The Critic?

If you are interested in Dinosaurs, it might be hitting DVD this year.

Now I'm wondering whether to take a chance on that 3-South set, even though I already made one. It might be worth it, because if that guy's set is really good, I'd have two copies, and it's great to have a backup. Plus, I could have those bits that are missing on my set.

Should I order the set? "Don't do it, Boy-O! It's a trick!" (lightsaber duel)

Who knows? I really doubt it though. Seemed like MTV pushed Clone High alot harder then 3-South back in the day.

----------

I was just going to have them paypal me 12 dollars then when I got the discs, mail their's out (which would still save both of us money) or do it the other way around if they wanted. I don't really care I am in no real hurry to get these (though they would be nice to watch again).

Spider-Man (animated 90's)
Doug
Rescue Rangers!

Honorable mention: Captain Planet. He's our hero, gonna take pollution down to zero.

Edit: Oh man, I forgot X-Men: Evolution and Darkwing Duck. I loved them.

Yeah, MTV really did push Clone High a lot more than 3-South. I remember tons of Clone High commercials, with lots of guest stars and such.

I just sent that guy a PM through IMDB and asked him a bunch of technical questions and such about his set, to make sure it was good quality. If the answers are good, I might place an order.

I'm really surprised that this isn't on DVD, considering all the links it has to the super-popular Family Guy. They shared a lot in common: writers, producers, voiceover talent... you name it.

Maybe if it was given a shot on Fox with Family Guy, it would be very successful nowadays.

1. Carnivale - Great cast, the plot was over-ambitious for a mainstream audience. Writer has hinted that it's coming back in some form?

2. Farscape - Lots of fun, one of the only sci-fi shows that didn't attempt to anthropomorphize every alien race.

3. Angel - Great guilty pleasure show, cancelled just as it was picking up steam.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants Quantum Leap back... though that's the only one I really want back. The other two would probably be Kids in the Hall and Tales From the Crypt.

The Tick (live action) (funny ass schtuff!)
John Doe (at least one season or episode to give us an ending)
Miracles (that show was coool)

id like to see more dr katz. what a great show.

obviously arrested development, even though it has a chance to come back.

but for a third... i dunno, seinfeld i guess. best show ever.

Animation:
Mobile Suit Gundam. I'd like a well done series set in the UC continuity... after going back and watching 0079 and Zeta Gundam, it's reminded me how weak in comparison Wing and Seed are.

Animaniacs. It's been long enough that there's more things to make fun of that wouldn't be running in the same circles as it was.

I mean, just change the part where they say "just sit back and relax, while the President plays the sax" to "just sit back and relax while the president plants wiretaps" and your off to the races.

Samurai Jack. I don't want it back for long... but even a made for TV movie that wraps up the storyline would be nice. I mean, it's one of the few shows Cartoon Network created that had as strict continutity, and they just dropped it.

Live-Action:

A Twilight Zone that's more focused on the writing than star power. The second remake of Twilight Zone was pretty good, but this last go at it was rather unspectacular.

A Saturday Night Live cast that actually made it worth watching the show. I mean, the show has had slow periods before, but now it's just starting to get ridiculous.

Monday Night Football. It's hard to believe that starting next season, Monday Night Football will be a thing of the past. I mean, there will still be football on monday night, but not with Hank Williams Junior introing it with the song, or the familar music.
Damn you ESPN.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants Quantum Leap back... though that's the only one I really want back. The other two would probably be Kids in the Hall and Tales From the Crypt.
Quantum Leap was pretty cool. I remember watching that giant block that SciFi Channel once had:

Quantum Leap
Incredible Hulk
Amazing Spider-Man
Bionic Woman
Six Million Dollar Man

Several hours of classic sci-fi goodness... :D

Kids in the Hall would be awesome to have on TV again, but you probably already knew I was a big fan, huh? ;)

I can't stick to just 3:

1) Get Real (Anyone else remember thisfrom Fox in 1999? Great show with Anne Hathaway and Taryn Manning)
2) Clerks Animated Series
3) The X-Files
4) Beavis and Butt-head
5) The Critic
6) Seinfeld
7) WCW Monday Nitro :p
8) Chappelle's Show
Seinfeld
Gargoyles

And Arrested Development
Yeah, I was going to say...is it too early to throw Arrested Development into this list? *sob*

Heres a few I don't recall seeing, as I scanned through:

Dead Like Me
Undergrads

I few that I saw that I agree with:

Playmakers
Fastlane
Futurama
Alias
Arrested Development (should get picked up by another network)
....among others

Married with Children

I can't think of any other shows besides some cartoons like Ducktales, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, and Tale Spin.

Even tho there are many shows I wouldn't have minded seeing more of, I'm going to stick to shows that were cut off well before their time:

1) The Tick (live action) - Patrick Warburton WAS The Tick; this show was hillarious.
2) Firefly - 'nuff said.
3) Carnivale - I just started watching this last year (on DVD) - I'm not even through the first set yet and already I'm depressed because I know the story won't wrap up like it should. Excellent show.

Honorable mentions - The State and Greg the Bunny. The State is easily the funniest sketch comedy show ever. Greg the Bunny I put in the same category as The Tick - very funny, but strange enough to never really catch on mainstream.

The State is also my most-wanted show on DVD right now, along with Rocko's Modern Life.
