If you could make the whole world listen to one song, what would it be?(post it)
"Imagine" John Lennon
god yes. i nver wouldve thought aout that, but thank you.

i would make the world listen to hurt by johnny cash. i know its a NIN song first, but his version is so moving.

i'd pick colorblind by 7 seconds, it was written purley about race, but i think it means more today than 20 years ago

I don't feel that prejudice,
Can't see divided lines.
To me we are all just the same,
Our difference in our souls and minds.
You tell me that the difference,
Is red, brown, black and white.
A world of such variety,
To you becomes an excuse for hate.

We've gotta learn, have hope, unite
And care enough to end this fight.

You're hating with no real insight,
And burning crosses in the night.
A hundred years of barriers,
Yet still we can't see fit
To bring about world unity
And learn to live with it.
Now I'm not just complaining
And I won't preach to anyone,
But we should think about it
'Cos this war has not just begun.

There would be three songs:

MMMbop: Hanson just because it kicks ass

The First Season pokemon theme: Billy Crawford because whats better than a Michael Jackson rip off to tell u to pursue your dreams of being a battle rapper. (The whole song without the Pokemon references is a song about going out a battling cats until you are the best)

Nas: I can because it's good for kids

More Than This - Roxy Music : a song about enjoying life always and a great song for karaoke time!

I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they're blowing
As free as the wind
Hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing
It was fun for a while
There was no way of knowing
Like dream in the night
Who can say where we're going
No care in the world
Maybe I'm learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing

Heat of the Moment by Asia

I love that song. If it comes on the radio or that episode of south park comes on I just shut down and watch it
Pantera- Walk. nuff said.
Would you also recommend Prong- Snap your fingers, snap your neck?

I find it enjoyable myself.

I like the 10,000 Maniacs version...

I thought Bill and Ted created the music of the world?

I'm with Imagine - John Lennon.

Artist: John Lennon
Song: Imagine Lyrics

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do?
Nothing to kill or die for,
And no religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you will join us,
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you will join us,
And the world will live as one

I think that if I had the opportunity to play one song for the world it would be Charleton Heston Style Apocalypse by my band McQUEEN. In this song we ponder why Charleton Heston is the best candidate for the last man alive. The way I figure it, if the world is going to end, the world should at least have an idea why Heston should be sole survivor.

You can listen to the song here: http://www.purevolume.com/mcqueen

Charleton Heston Style Apocolypse
Written and performed by McQueen

Next time I'm on a beach I'm prepared, I've got a speech!
I'll beat my hands in the sand, and this is what I'll preach:

YOU BLEW IT UP YOU MANIACS! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

It's a Charelton Heston Apocolypse,
I'm the only man left who talks
It's a Charelton Heston Apocolypse,
where'd these monkeys learn to talk?

You'll see me running through the streets so get up out of your seat!
Soylent Green is PEOPLE, and this is what you eat!

It's a Charelton Heston Apocolypse,
there's something I gotta shout!
It's a Charelton Heston Apocolypse,
people go in and food comes out!

I don't care what people say, I'm not over-acting, this place is INSANE!

You'll see me dowtown when the sun goes down and battle albinos from the underground
I've got the cure for whitey's disease, that' why I'm under siege!

It's a Charelton Heston Apocolypse
when the only left is you
It's Charelton Heston Apocolypse,
when it comes to the end, you're screwed

In the end it doesn't Matter- Linkin Park, because when people piss me off I play that song and say f**k 'em
"Mrs. Potter's Lullaby", Counting Crows. Just wonderful.
Counting Crows is my favorit band rock on !

I'd make everyone in the world listen to Recovering the Satellites by Counting Crows .

Gonna get back to basics
Guess I'll start it up again
I'm falling from the ceiling
You're falling from the sky now and then
Maybe you were shot down in pieces
Maybe I slipped in between
But we were gonna be the wildest people they ever hoped to see
yes you and me
So why'd you come home to this sleepless town
It's a lifetime commitment
recovering the satellites
All anybody really wants to know is...
When you gonna come down
Your mother recognizes all your desperate displays
and she watches as her babies drift violently away
'til they see themselves in telescopes
Well listen do you see yourself in me?
We're such crazy babies, little monkey
God we're so fucked up, you and me
So why'd you come home to this faithless town
where we make a lifetime commitment
to recovering the satellites
And all anybody really wants to know is...
when are you gonna come down
She sees shooting stars and comets tail
She's got heaven in her eyes
She says I don't need to be an angel
but I'm nothing if I'm not this high
But we only stay in orbit
for a moment of time
And then you're everybody's satellite
I wish that you were mine
I wish that you were mine
So why'd you come home to this angels town
It's a lifetime decision
recovering the satellites
everybody really knows for sure...
that you're gonna come down
that you're gonna come down

Dimension seven by Nirvana since Kurt Cobain, and Krist Novoselic are geniuses and Dave Grohl does a good job with percusion.

Straight as an arrow
Defect defect
Not straight, not so straight
Reject reject
Towards anti-social
Solo solo
Standing on the stairs
Cold, cold morning
Ghostly image of fear
Mayday mayday
Gonna leave this region
They'll take me with them

Dimension seven
The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize?

"Do you realize?
That everyone
you know
some day
will die."
Bingo.

I love Counting Crows too. Sort of a guilty pleasure.

Anyways, the whole world should listen to any Polyphonic Spree song. It just puts a smile on my face. Their songs are just about being happy... the world should learn something from that. heh

"I've Seen It All" by Bjork

I've seen it all, I have seen the trees,
I've seen the willow leaves dancing in the breeze
I've seen a friend killed by a friend,
And lives that were over before they were spent.
I've seen what I was - I know what I'll be
I've seen it all - there is no more to see!

You haven't seen elephants, kings or Peru!
I'm happy to say I had better to do
What about China? Have you seen the Great Wall?
All walls are great, if the roof doesn't fall!

And the man you will marry?
The home you will share?
To be honest, I really don't care...

You've never been to Niagara Falls?
I have seen water, its water, that's all...
The Eiffel Tower, the Empire State?
My pulse was as high on my very first date!
Your grandson's hand as he plays with your hair?
To be honest, I really don't care...

I've seen it all, I've seen the dark
I've seen the brightness in one little spark.
I've seen what I chose and I've seen what I need,
And that is enough, to want more would be greed.
I've seen what I was and I know what I'll be
I've seen it all - there is no more to see!

You've seen it all and all you have seen
You can always review on your own little screen
The light and the dark, the big and the small
Just keep in mind - you need no more at all
You've seen what you were and know what you'll be
You've seen it all - there is no more to see!

that or: Let Down by: Radiohead

Transport, motorways and tramlines,
starting and then stopping,
taking off and landing,
the emptiest of feelings,
disappointed people, clinging on to bottles,
and when it comes it's so, so, disappointing.

Let down and hanging around,
crushed like a bug in the ground.
Let down and hanging around.

Shell smashed, juices flowing
wings twitch, legs are going,
don't get sentimental, it always ends up drivel.
One day, I'm gonna grow wings,
a chemical reaction,
hysterical and useless
hysterical and

let down and hanging around,
crushed like a bug in the ground.
Let down and hanging around.

Let down,
Let down,
Let down.

You know, you know where you are with,
you know where you are with,
floor collapsing, falling, bouncing back
and one day, I'm gonna grow wings,
a chemical reaction, [You know where you are,]
hysterical and useless [you know where you are,]
hysterical and [you know where you are,]

let down and hanging around,
crushed like a bug in the ground.
Let down and hanging around.
My Band~D12 and Eminem, my god doesn't anyone like new music 8)
Thumbs up on M.
Thumbs down on D12. No talent whatsoever.

How can anyone not mention the greatest rock band of all time?

Track 10, The Blue Album:

You can't resist her.
She's in your bones.
She is your marrow
And your ride home.

You can't avoid her.
She's in the air... in the air
In between molecules of
Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide.

[chorus]
Only in dreams
We see what it means.
Reach out our hands.
Hold onto hers.
But when we wake
It's all been erased.
And so it seems
Only in dreams.

You walk up to her.
Ask her to dance.
She says, "Hey, baby, I just might take the chance."
You say, "It's a good thing
That you float in the air... in the air.
That way there's no way I will crush your pretty toenails into a thousand pieces."

=w=

punqsux: but if we can rock together, why can't we walk together?

If I could play one song to the entire world?

Hmmm. That song that Andy Dufresne plays when he is locked in the wardens office in Shawshank Redemption. It supersedes language.
