What an incredible deal! These pads usually run $99.99. If you check EB's website these are no longer listed but a new model is coming out this week, so they must be clearancing out the old model.

Unfortunately there were none in the Cincinnati area, so if someone gets in on this deal I would greatly appreciate someone hooking me up. Now get out there and get them before they are gone. They will ring up as $7.99 in EB's computer system.

Update: Thanks to TimTucker

Just got back from the EB by me.

Here's the deal as best as I could tell:

* There are 3 different accessories called "IGNITION PAD" in the system

* One says something like IGNITION PAD PS - this one shows up as $7.99 in the system and is flagged with "D" for "discontinued"
-- The SKU for this pad was: 2390268

* One says IGNITION PAD PS2/XBOX and shows up as $99.99 -- it's also marked as discontinued, but still shows at the original price

* Can't remember exactly what the description of the 3rd was, but it was showing as active and $99.99. (none of these were in-stock at the store by me, so I'm not sure what they look like).

* The Naki pads ring up at $49.99. No deal there either. (plus I was told by one of the employees that the only ones they've sold have all come back as defective within a few days)

Unfortunately there were 3 of the discontinued PS2/XBOX pads for $99.99 at the store here and none of the stores in the area showed up as having the $7.99 pad in stock.

Would I be able to call in to my local eb to see how much they are selling them for? or to see if they have them? this isn't like one of those 0 cent game things where its like an error is it?

*just posted this right after other guy, aww.

This was listed on a price update flyer or email or whatever they get where there were a bunch of accessories that are on sale for $7.99. I guess you could call your EB, but I'd be scared of the employees grabbing these up when they see the $7.99 price.

Are these the Red Octane brand pads? Just asking because I figured they were but EB does sell Ignition pads from Naki as well so I wanted to make sure it was Red Octane.

I'm not sure whether they were Red Octane or Naki. I just know these are the thick foam kind.

Hmmmm...finally something tempts me to try out DDR. I've never once tried the game due to the pads everyone bitches about, and the high price of the better pads that people say you need to really be able to play. If only there were a cheap-ass deal on the games for PS2 as well...
On topic...sort of.

Which dance pad is best for Xbox?

I want to get one. Please let me know of any opinions.
Coincidentally enough... this one.

Any of the "cheap" pads hold up well?

Not sure I'll be able to jump on this deal.

The pads that are bundled with the games aren't too bad for some of the lighter stuff and if you are just fooling around with the game, but forget about trying to do some of the more advanced songs.

Tell you what, I'll happily send you my 2 official Konami pads if someone hooks me up with some Ignitions. :)
Cheap pads are fine if you mod them to a wood board. I did that to a Mad Catz pad in July and it still works great now.
Thank you. That's what I wanted to know.
Went to mine, no dice. Still rings up at 100, even when they hit total.
Maybe it's regional then? The clerk showed me the piece of paper that had the price change and the screen where it showed $7.99. Guess it's time to add YMMV to the title.

If anyone can get in on this deal, I would greatly appreciate it if you could pick up an extra one for me. I've been aching for a good Xbox pad since getting Ultramix 2 (I only have PS2 pads).

Last I checked, all ignition pads come out of the same factory. Of course, that could've changed. I only was told this 2 years ago when they first came out.

I hope this deal is true, I too have been using the PS2 pads on my Ultramix games... via controller converter that is a little flaky at times

It sounds like it might be the old version of the Red Octane 2.0 pad then, the one that just works on Playstation and PS2 that is on clearance then.

Thanks for clearing everything up TimTucker. I generally hate posting deals where I don't know all the details, but I figured I'd give this one a shot since it might help some people out. I'll modify the first post to include the info you posted.

i saw a ton of the $99.99 PS2/Xbox Ignition pads, and as found out already they are definitely $99.99. didn't cost me anything, luckily, because i biked over there.

it cost you your time....which could've been used for playing video games :bouncy:

This deal didn't come to fruition for me either. Went to check on this since i need some better dance pads than the cheap lame ones that Fry's gives out with their bundles. Oh well.

You are 100% correct. I checked it out and it's the old one from a year or so ago that only worked for the PS/PS2. I bet there aren't too many around but It's worth a look.

Has anyone confirmed if its Red Octane Ignition pads on sale? If it is, can anyone grab me two? I don't own an Xbox, and I'd love a 2nd pad for THIS cheap- and my BF's sister could use a nicer pad too!
