I'm bored. My dvd purchases today have brought me past 500 titles. Please Rate.

Obviously you're a "quantity over quality" kind of guy. A handful of good movies, and a truckload of almost unforgivable titles.

3/10

And you're in the wrong forum.

2/10

Now that you have 500 DVD's and you are the talk of all the CAGers, the only question you have to ask yourself is, "was it worth it?"

Flamed liquid....now sell them all on eBay, lose some weight, get a less stressful job and go to the beach with all the money.

Make your own movie.

My local library has a decent (smallish but quality) collection that I can borrow from and my local Hollywood Video rents DVDs for $1 . . . when I can view them at that price, why buy them? I own about 20 dvds. Why so few?

My cash goes for GAMES!

Sorry I didn't expect you guys to start flaming me and not even looking at my collection. I thought the guys at Gamefaqs were bad too........

:(

Oh and that is Christina Ricci in my avatar. One pic is from Buffalo '66 while the other was from a photoshoot.

And what category would Donnie Darko go under, if not Horror?

I put thrillers with my horror movies. Hence The Glass House and Godsend.
then again you have all the evangelion dvds, ill rate those alone as 10/10
I must agree, most of your collection isn't that impressive but you have some decent anime, and full metal jacket so you get a 6/10, toss the shit and I'll raise you to a 7.

Cool. Thanks guys. Yah, I can understand if you guys don't like some of the stuff. At least your honest. It's not like I buy a bunch of titles out of the Wal Mart bin though, lol.

I buy what I like.

Also, I'm hoping to limprove my anime collection. but the only other series I really want are:

Noir
Beserk
Love Hina
Fooley Cooley

Any suggestions?

I noticed you have some fullscreen stuff on there. Bah. I'm insulted.

Overall, a large amount, but, I wouldn't say the best stuff, because I'd rather have 5 great movies than 200 bad ones not worth a damn. I loved your TV on DVD collection, makes me jealous.

DVD porn? Ever hear of the internet?

6/10, mainly because of all your great TV boxsets, but, that isn't even half of your collection, oh, and The X-Files DVD's are nice, but I'm an X-Phile, so, nevermind my comment there, but, Dumb and Dumberer sucks, how could you have that?

Oh, and DVD Profiler is much better than that other site in my opinion, not only is that word difficult to spell in compromising situations, but, the layout is pretty basic and is hard to actually look through ALL your titles, I ended up skipping half the collection because I got sick of seeing all three billion Wishmaster movies.

I'll give it a 7.5 out of 10. I think people are being a bit too hard on your movie collection. Yeah, not everything in there is top shelf, but there are a lot of very good movies in there. I like a lot of your TV on DVD stuff, and you went from a 7 to a 7.5 just by virtue of owning all the Futurama sets. If you plan on picking up the first season of Arrested Development, adjust the score again to 8.0. :)

Actually there are quite a few good titles in there, you just have to wade past some crap.
6/10

If you dropped at least 25% of those titles I'd give it a higher score. I mean some of those movies are so bad that it really drags down the overall score.

50 First Dates? Big Daddy? Mr. Deeds? Pirates of the Caribbean?

While a lot of it is crap, there are some decent ones here.

Props for having Anything Else, I think I'm the only one that enjoyed that movie. And Eternal Sunshine. Though I'm not giving you the credit you deserve for ES, since you're a movie whore.

And a ton of crappy Anime.

I see. Yah, I can see what you mean I guess. Most of you probbally don't like the following:

The Hot Chick
Dumb And Dumberer
Joe Dirt
Dickie Roberts
Along Came Polly
Wishmaster/Wishmaster 2
Wishmaster 3
Wishmaster 4
Wrong Turn
Cabin Fever

just to name a few. But I really enjoyed alot of yhose movies. Sure Wishmaster is cheesy, but I still found the premise to be pretty cooll.

Anyways thanks for rating it.

I'll have to check out that dvdprofiler site.

And to the DVD porn question:

1. Yes, I know of the internet. That's where I get my hardcore porn. lol

2. I only buy softcore stuff on dvd. Usuallu can't find that on the nest, plus the Peach girls are pretty hot.

And Scorch, I don't own Big Daddy.

You probbaly didnt even scroll past my Adam Sandler and Johnny Depp sections.

And you call Pirates Of The Caribbean crap???!!!!

(speechless)

nice collection of tv box sets though
but because u have an angelina joile category but no HACKERs, the best movie she was in besides being naked in gia u get a
-34

In all honesty, you have a lot of great movies.

While I'm not a fan of horror for the most part, don't know anything about anime, and couldn't care less about wrestling, I would rate the rest of your movies:

7 out of 10.

Hell, you could probably find 75% of my personal collection (DVD icon in sig) within your collection.

OK.

If I was you I'd gt rid of many movies.

Here it goes:

All the wwf (wwe)
All the south park

Many TV Shows: (many of them are only worth watch once)

Lost World
Garfield and friends
In living Color
joe schmo show
king of the hill
simpsons
married with children
punkd
reno
saturday night live (how many times do you have to watch a comedy until you realize it's not funny anymore)
saved by the bell
sealab
crank yankers
ninja turtles season 1
some of your spiderman dvd's (your choice)
some of your softcore dvd's (your choice)
wishmaster 3,4 wasn't good
Try to only keep the horror movies you like the most.
you have a decent selection in drama but again only keep what you like the most. (don't try to collect lots of drama just because you might be too short in your collection)
In comedy there are some not worth having like:

scary movie 3
anything else
baseketball
dumb and dummerer
big lebrowski
bedazzeld, ect...

some adam sandler aren't good movies.

best of adam sandler
going over borad
eight crazy nights

In action you have a decent collection but could be improved with more movies.

in Japanise animation you either want to impress some one or you really love your anime. It's impressive nonetheless but it you don't enjoy some of it get rid of it.

On a personal note: I also used to have 500+ dvd's and got rid of 200+ dvd's becasue I realize that many movies were making my collection boring and often saw my dvd shelf and found nothing to watch. Take your time to select movies that are just great to enjoy and add some life to your selection.

Have you really watched all the x-files seasons?

take your time.
Fullscreen Fellowship of the Ring? Boo.
Yeah I agree, it pains me to read through your DVD collection. It's hard to give it an overall rating, but for the collection as a whole I give it an:

F
1/10
10%
Terrible

There ya have it, my review of your collection
OK.

If I was you I'd gt rid of many movies.

Here it goes:

All the south park
king of the hill
simpsons
reno
sealab
some of your spiderman dvd's (your choice)
anything else
big lebowski
i deleted all the stuff i don't care about from the quote, but are you insane? i could see not having "anything else" or maybe king of the hill (though i still own king of the hill, not anything else though), but not own the big lebowski? no south park, simpsons, and sealab? that's some of the best stuff he's got there. if that stuff isn't worthy of owning, i'd like to know what you think is.

Yah, The Big Lebowski is a classic man. And Simpsons, Garfield And Friends, Ninja Turtles, and Spider-man?

I grew up watching those.

And yes I have seen all those seasons of X-Files. In fact Iv'e seen all my dvds except the ones I bought last week.

I can understand on Wishmaster 3 and 4, The Lost World (tv) , and Anything Else and Going Overboard. But for the rest you listed, I love.

Anyays, I guess everyone has theer own opinions.

And yes, I love anime. :)

Owning Almost Famous alone is enough for me to give it a 7 out of 10 , but you have a lot of other quality stuff, just also have a lot of stinkers, but hey whatever floats your boat, I probably own just as many. 8.5 out of 10 overall
Oh, and the Fullscreen movies I own, I got on accident. And I regret it. :(
That makes me feel better.

 Yah, I preordered Spider-Man and LOTR: The Two Towers at Blockbuster, and my mom picked them up for me. But picked up the FS versions.

But, I can live with it.

I'd give your collection a 7/10... it matches up w/ most of the stuff I like as well but I gotta say, you lost some points for those full screen editions (widescreen forever!).

Also, I'm hoping to limprove my anime collection. but the only other series I really want are:

Noir
Beserk
Love Hina
Fooley Cooley

Any suggestions?

As for anime here's my recommendations:

- Now and Then, Here and There
- Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (FLCL - like stuff but paroding modern pop culture - mostly japanese)
- Full Metal Panic (Giant Mech stuff a la Gundam/Evangelion)
- Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu (sequel to FMP; not yet released)
- Full Metal Alchemist (Unrelated to FMP; magical stuff involving alchemy; not yet released)
- Madlax (Noir - like; not yet released)
- Naruto (Ninja anime; not yet released)

I can't rate your DVD collection, becuase I collect games and barely watch movies. I only own both Kill Bill movies on DVD, and some anime.

Thanks for the anime suggestions. Happy Lesson, that Samurai one like Cowboy Bebop, and that other Ninja one you mentioned sound preety interesting.

But I like to wait till stuff is released to like a Best Buy, Media Play, or Suncoast before I buy my anime.

Naruto is one of the top rated anime out in japan right now. It's been goin' on for about 2 yrs (which is quite rare in terms of anime series). As for samurai champloo, it should be coming out soon as it's already got a US distributor: Geneon. Hopefully, they'll do a faithful translation.
Props for having Anything Else, I think I'm the only one that enjoyed that movie.
Uh, it's a wellknown cult classic.

Anyway, having a Scorsese section and not having the best Scorsese film is ridiculous (Raging Bull, hello?).

The Polanski and Kubrick nods are the only films worth owning on that list.

I rate your collection 5 out of 500. That's a .01 out of 10.

I've watched all except like 4. Which I just recently bought. And theres only a few movies that I own that I hate:

Going Overboard (own it cause I like Adam Sandler, no matter how terrible it is)
Swindle (have no clue why I own this. It's crap)
Last House On The Left (I read good things about it, but was dissapointed in the result.)
Anything Else (great actors, but gets lagging. I just love Christina Ricci. :) )

And Freedy Got Fingered is one of my favorite comedys. You gotta have a sick and twisted sense of humor. Hence, thats why I own 2 Spike And Mike dvds.

Also, I have never seen Raging Bull, and I would own it, if it wasn't Out Of Print. I plan on buying the 2nd Scorsese box set though which has:

New York, New York
Raging Bull
Boxcar Bertha
and some other movie (sorry forgot what it was)

Never go to Suncoast for ANYTHING. They overprice nearly everything, same with Best Buy's anime DVD's. Like, 25 dollars for that stupid Gungrave DVD, what the hell? 25 bucks for that?
