DVD's can't shatter, they are coated with a pliable plastic layer that prevents shattering. CD's can shatter, DVD's cannot.

I think the OP was carrying a platefull of Dinty-Moore ChiliMac to his Atari 2600 over in Grandmas trailer, and he tripped over Grandpa's leg and THAT shattered on the ground.

Seriously, he probably broke it a while ago(reasons unknown), found this site, waited until he wasn't a complete noob, then posted it, thinking we could miraculously help him. I have thrown by 360 CONTROLLER at a think carpet, which is concrete underneath it, while playing Wartech, and it took like 15 throws for it to finally break a little inside, yet it still performs perferctly...

I threw a copy of a 50 Cent promo CD out the window of my apartment, landed in the road, watched it get run over by 5 cars, and when I went to check on it, it was still intact.

Either 50 Cent really is a tough bastard or any kind of CD is just generally hard to break.
 
Maybe the OP is Gemini from American Gladiators, and by shatter a CD, he meant, hit the blue team target with a high velocity tennis ball.

Really damn funny~!! But all discs aren't created equal guys. I've seen the ends touch on a disc that was bent in half yet one time I was just flexing the disc back and forth and it busted.

Just be careful. It's a jungle out there.
 
yeah i shattered a game disc once, but i had to start by dipping it into a vat of liquid nitrogen and then shoot it with a shotgun.
