Any suggestions? Some of the most fun games I've played on my DS my friend had imported like Rythem Heaven and Uendon. I'm sure there are many more games that are enjoyable without having to know Japanese. Any reccomendations?

I believe you mean Ouedan ^___^. Well, some other decent games are like Daigasso, but you do need to read some instructions on how to play since its not very self explanatory if you just jump into it. Egg Monster Hero is a pretty fun one. Other than those, I dont have any easy to play ones unless you count Xenosaga I+II or Gundam games @_@

Egg Monster Hero looks interesting. I hear good things about Daigasso as well, thanks.

If you like music games at all, Daigasso ought to be in your collection. It is probably hands down the game I have sunk the most time into. I would get the DX version, which even at full price is an amazing value. You can download versions of all the best songs from the original.

I think the only other really easy to play Japanese games I know are the jigsaw puzzle games. I have the kitten one, though there's a puppy one too. Very easy to use and no language barrier.

Oh, and Jump Ultimate Stars.

Im not sure how much fun hell actually have with Jump since you dont get nearly as much out of it if you dont read japanese, and itll be a little harder putting together your panels for your team if you cant read too. Its too much trial and error, and for that kind of effort he might as well just get Daigasso. I mean dont get me wrong, I love both of the Jump games, but its just not as fun if you cant read Japanese.
If you like rhythm/music games, both of the Taiko Drum Master games for the DS are excellent.
Forgot about that too. Taiko would be a decent one for sure.

Oh really?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I've heard of Daigasso, but never thought of Taiko Drum master so I'll have to check that out.

If you like puzzle games, Rittai Picross (essentially 3D Picross) is all kinds of awesome. I don't understand any Japanese, but I was able to work through the tutorials with no problem.

I want this game so hard, but is way expensive.
Where'd you order from?

I got mine from play-asia.com. Yeah, it's pretty expensive but worth it to me. I've gotta have 40+ hours into it by now, so in terms of price/hour it was a pretty good deal.

I can understand this. I have sunk so many hours into Daigasso that I would buy it no matter how much it cost.

Play-Asia has 20% off sales usually twice or three times a year. Unfortunately, the last one just ended a couple of weeks ago so it will be awhile. But I got Daigasso DX at (not the last but) the previous 20% off sale, so if you're patient, you might be able to get Rittai Picross later for a lot less.

Yea, but were not giving him advice on what game to get, were trying to give the op ideas on what games to buy ;P. And like youve said, if anything, he should definitely get Daigasso before he gets Rittai Picross. Especially since the op has played Ouendan. Funnage!

Yes thanks, I think Daigasso will be first for me, something not too expensive would be best (though I love picross). Feel free to discuss any import games in here though, it's fine.

Egg Monster Hero is a relatively cheap one too, and surprisingly easy to play without knowing Japanese, so maybe that can be next. :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:

Ouendan, oh douchy one :)

(your comment is best read in Comic Book Guy voice with an added lisp of fail)

Also, to the op. Another decent one actually if youre a fan of Secret of Mana type games, even though it will be a little tougher to play thru, but a lot of fun, is Iron Feather.

Its really got a Secret of Mana feel to it where you get to run around in open space, have a total of 3 members, its an active battle system, so you can pull out your weapons when you see an enemy on screen, theres also magic, etc etc.

Worth a shot if you like that kind of genre, and to be honest you dont need to know a whole lot of Japanese. Just gets tougher when you get to equipping yourself, ;P.
