Import-Friendly Japanese Wii Games?

CAGiversary!
So, I happen to have the ability to play Japanese games on my Wii. I tried playing Captain Rainbow (which was the whole reason I wanted to be able to play Japanese games in the first place) and it was pretty much impossible. It's very story-driven and text-heavy, which doesn't really make it easy to play for a classic single-language American like myself. For all the video games I have played in my life, I really had no idea what was going on or what was expected of me. I know there are translations and walk-throughs online, but that takes the fun out of a game for me.

Does anyone have any experience importing Wii games that might have some advice as to import-friendly titles? I hear Disaster: Day of Crisis is actually already in English, so I might try that one.

My lazy web search came up with nothing better than this thread:

Disaster should be import friendly, because there's an English version already out in Europe.

Off the top of my head, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom will be import-friendly by default because its a fighting game. The new Klonoa remake should be also because it's a pure platformer. Also, I want to recommend Sky Crawlers, but I don't know how import-friendly that would be; while the action will probably be easy to understand, the story and mission objective stuff should be pretty pervasive.

But yeah, Tatsucap and the new Klonoa should work fine. Klonoa Wii is out now, whlie the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is out next week.

Cool, thanks for the info. Does anyone follow what non-import friendly Japanese games I should be drooling over hoping they make it to the US?

428 which is there a thread on. But like captain rainbow all the game is text or video based sadness :bomb:

Pick up eyeshield 21!! It's only 20 bucks on playasia very import friendly and it's football and cel shading pretty sexy.

Fatal Frame 4 is sweet but text heavy but there are rumors of it being localized.

Let's Tap & Tatsunoko VS Capcom have Japanese but it's pretty easy to figure them out and still have fun. Ouendan & Ouendan 2 confirm that...

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I've been playing a lot of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom today. Definitely no Japanese skills needed for that. I've also been LOVING Bikini Zombie Slayers and Klonoa. I will try Eyeshield 21 soon I think - I looked at some stills and it looks really nice. I didn't realize Let's Tap was out in Japan already.

It's not out yet, not until the 18th. But music like games, you don't really need translations for. If you experiment you will learn
